Suggestions.. !

i've recently "rejoined" after some time away from the boards..

when i got back i noticed somthin' that i really don't like.. is it that ppl that haven't been on the forum for a long time, post threads about subjects that have been discussed ages ago..

the point of this thread, is to suggest that u mods put up a sticky thread, sayin that ppl should use the search function before they post a thread..

and i also think that a thread, which is bringin up a subject that have allready been discussed should be locked/deleted..

i will say, that im not the only one with this opinion..

(suggestions have also been PM'ed to the admin)

Thats a good suggestion...

this would have to be the most common problem/complaint that members have. I am a little undecided on the fact of whether it is unecissary to start a new thread that has already been discussed. Sometimes the thread is just way too big to look through, so in some cases it is acceptible. The best way to get around it is to just direct the person to the right thread and lock it i guess...

Tough one indeed. My personal opinion is to point them to the relevant thread, but as FunkyHorror already pointed out those previous threads tend to be rather huge and cumbersome to root through. It should be evaluated on a thread by thread basis I guess.

As for saying people should use the search function, we have a very big and detailed introduction text about forum rules for new members in the support section (as a sticky). We can always redirect them there if they haven't already read that.

Just wondering here... On the bottoms up to the top.. (User CP, Help etc..) it shows a tiny bit of green at the bottom of the buttons.. Is that supposed to be there? Soz if someones already sked this, but I want to know..
CraHan

As far as I know the little bit of green is supposed to be there :). Unless of course you're seeing something else then me. Maybe you can take a screenshot, crop it to the buttonbar and paste it here?

Well, this is the best my cruddy webcam can do.. I've pointed it out with a red arrow (if it helps)... :)
CraHan

Yup, I think that's supposed to be there :).

Maeve and Didi

maeve: I would like to bring peoples attention to the animatrix. in one of the episodes we see how someone is freed from the matrix. its that 16 year old lad(i cant remember his name) he gets a call from neo in school cuz there are agents coming for him. when he throws himself from the roof he says 'neo i believe.' he then wakes up in the real world. He died in the matrix yet he still makes it into the real world. How does he do this? becuz he believes.the point iam trying to make is that neo cannot be dead becuz he believes and knows the marix isnt real.

didi: Also in m2 and m3 Morpheus and co. say that the war will end tonight.but it is clear from the end of revolutions that the war isnt over. The Architect says to the Oracle 'How long do you think the peace will last' I don't mean to sound pessimistic but I don't think it will last too long. Neo can't be dead and m3 can't be the last film becoz we need to know what happens and there are a lot of unanswered questions. The war didn't end it is only put on hold, though I will admit all three films are ****ing Brilliant!
maeve: at the end of m3 the indian program girl asks the Oracle will we ever see neo againand she says 'i suspect so' she knows the future hence her name and so i presume neo is alive bcuz i doubt she is referring to an afterlife bcuz she is a program

Here's a wild idea, why don't you take the time to look at the the Questions and Support section and check out that nice big sticky post entitled 'Board Ethics and Rules'! Here's a link for your convenience:

Just a suggestion CraHan, maybe you shuold add a link to the rules and stuff on the register screen (maybe even a license agreement?) so people know where to find the rules, and know about them from the very beginning.. Because I don't think a lot of the n00bs will just start looking for the rules and stuff thread...
CraHan

Good point. Thanks for the tip.
