Trainman?

Does anyone know about this? Who is Trainman and what's his purpose?

all i know is that when neo is in his coma and hes in a world between the matrix and the real qorld hes therein the subway and the trainman(bum) is there and tells him that the train has programs on it that were suposed to be deleted but werent and who dont want to be destroyed or just want to enjoy the the matrix

when you play the game as Niobi in "enter the matrix", you meet the Trainman in a cutscene.

Niobi is just about to get out of the matrix, when she meets this bum-looking guy.
The Trainman says : " Seventy two hours, thats how long Zion lasted last time".

So he knows about the last versions of the Matrix. I think he is program of some sort. I am looking forward , to seing what role he has.

What powers has he got?

Is he a machine? Is he human?

Heck, i might just as well ask this, could he be a former "anomaly", a former the one?

He is the trainman, he is the keeper of Mobil Ave. Mobil Ave is the waistbin of the Matrix. RSI (could be both humans and programs) who looses their purpose are no longer necessary for the system and are transported by the train to this place to prepare them for deletion.

The Merovingian has found a way to go to this place, to contact the rogues and let them work for him. I do not know the purpose of the Trainman. His knowledge could be his purpose or it is accidently that he came there and now works for the Merovingian as well.

The Trainman will explain Neo the truth about that place, about the Matrix. he also introduces him to Rama-Kandra, Kamala and Sati. The two programs with their child, he get's to know some about them too.

When Neo get freed out of the Matrix by Trinity - hugscene- we will not see him again, i mean that it's very doubtful that he will return.
