Um.. I gotta disagree with that. Do Israeli's even have one fighter jet? Oh yeah how bout the MOAB bomb. USA, USA, USA, USA. Any punks that jump up will get beat down.

I hate weapons! But I don't want to go too much into detail. There was a time where the german weapons were the best... And I don't want that time to happen again!

Yeah, Bamba-man. I don't know if being a weapons' superpower is really something to be proud of. Apparantly we've got lots of talents and bright young people but all the money has to be spent on security. We could have been the unchallenged rulers of high-tech if things were going normal round here, and who knows what else...
I must admit, though, those are some very cool guns. I've heard of them but this is the first time I see a picture of one.

Some people just get the wrong idea of how a gun of be used >< that makes me mad! Cuz weapons of MASS DESTRUCTION is not cool. Weapons for defense (i.e. rape, um other self defense situations I can't think of) Killing is def not cool

Wow. I didn't expect this from Matrix fans, but oh well. Guns, in and of themselves, do NOT kill people. Bad PEOPLE who use guns can kill people. A gun does not pull its own trigger. I guess the main thing I'm trying to say is guns are not bad, and in many instances just the sight of a gun has prevented many-a-crime (ie rape, robbery,etc) If you have noticed over the past 100 years, the American government is slowly and almost imperceptibly taking away more and more of our freedoms. "Disarm America, Make it safe for the government to take over"-bumper sticker. This is true. How different history would have been if all the Jews in the Holocaust each had a rifle and twenty bullets! You see, when the Germans took control of them, they had the guns and the Jews had none. Throughout history it has always been the guys who give up the right to own guns who leave themselves open for oppression of some sort. I can't help but think of this and then see the way the media twists and turns things so it appears to the general public that guns are bad and kill people. Again, guns don't kill people, PEOPLE kill people. The citizens of America should consider the Jew in the Holocaust and remember if they choose to give up or not own a gun, you will not be able to resist if "Big Brother" government comes. Yes, if history were to repeat itself, it wouldn't be the Germans this time; it would most likely be some sort of government such as that in the book "1984."

if our founding fathers thought there would be thousands of people dying every year from guns (be it murders, accidents, self-defense) they would have made them illegal themselves.

Look, I understand what you mean about needing guns for self-protection. Here in Israel everyone has guns. We have to. Terrorism can and does strike anywhere and at any time. If we don't take the neccesary precautions bad things happen.
However, if weapons didn't exist, there wouldn't be the risk of terrorism and we wouldn't have to be this obsessed with security.
What I'm trying to say is that weapons might protect you from violence but they are also what causes it.
In 1993 when we signed the Oslo peace agreement with the Palestinian Authority we gave them massive amounts of weapons so that they can fight terrorism and bring us closer towards the peace process. Today these weapons are being used against us. They're killing our civillians with our own weapons.
What I'm trying to say is that weapons might protect you, but what they're protecting you from wouldn't be there if it wasn't for weapons, and sometimes the obssesion with self-defense and security can have its repercussions. I've heard, and I don't know if this is true, that Israeli society has become more violent due to its obsession with security and its militaristic nature. And we all know for a fact that in the US the rates of murders and armed robberies and all such violent crimes are way above those in the rest of the world. Even worse than the uncivlised countries if I remember correctly.
So in short, it's true that the European Jews of the 1930s should have had weapons - that is in fact the main reason that Israel exists today, and is why we are so determined to protect ourselves, but that's really a sad fact, and not something to boast of... :(
And guns=freedom the same way that crimes=freedom. Shouldn't a man be free to enrich himself by whatever means he chooses?
There is in fact a limit to freedom. Namely when people start to get hurt.

P.S. That last gun that Bamba-MAN showed a picture of is actually the perfect example of how guns should be used. increasing security with the minimum casualties, unlike the Uzi which unfortunately is mainly used today by terrorists.

I think that "No weapons"=Peace=No wars.
How can people fight without weapons? They can't!
If all the guns\missles and many other weapons will be destroyted, maybe there will be a full world-wide peace, but there are so many weapons to so many people, so that's impossible.

You'd be surprised. If we hadn't given the Palestinians massive amounts of Kalashnikovs and money we wouldn't have close to a thousand dead today. It's true that violent people will always exist, but it's also true that we should keep weapons away from them.
I agree that guns are sometimes necessary. As long as guns exist somewhere else, they have to exist here, but as I said, it's a sad fact of life, and some people are a bit dangerously enthusiastic about guns...

I think it's way to easy to get a weapon in America. You cannot just defend your weapon laws with your history (cowboys e.t.c) - because many americans do so. And if that would be right- I should have a weapon too (because we had a articulary very violent history not so long ago too)

What I want to say is - the death rates in America are by far the highest. No other country has either so many gun accidents or deaths caused by a weapon... The Question is Why?

And I agree with freeyourmind - Israel gave the palastinian weapons FOR peace and now those weapons are used against Israel and AGAINST peace.
