Ban of the word g a y

I would like to propose that this word is unbanned. I see no purpose too it and I find it discriminating. If any of the moderators here have hatred against homosexuals than I will kindly take my leave of you.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I think it is a good choice to ban that word. Not because the people on this site have anything against homosexuality, but because the word g*y has recently been turned into a slang word. I.E. instead of someone saying "hey, you're acting stupid" they say "hey, you're acting g*y". Get what i'm saying? The word is banned to ensure that anyone who is of the homosexual nature is not offended.

So if I start saying, Hey you are acting fnord! You'll soon band the word fnord? I understand your site of the problem, but I still thing words that have no negative meaning should not be banned. Ban the users who use them in a negative meaning instead. Maybe I'm making a to big a deal out of this, but I don't think it's fair. And if you would stop banning the word I would feel very g*y.

I am a nuetral person in this topic because I think both parties are right, and wrong at the same time.

Look, HU, I don't really support any kind of censorship but the reason this is being done is to enable this to be a board for all ages. Apparantly kids get traumatised if they hear a swear word or are introduced to the topic of homesexuality. It's weird the word g*y's banned though. I believe the original intention was to find a more pleasant alternative than poofter (or pooftah, I don't remember) to the overlong word. And now the words poofter and homesexual are allowed but g a y isn't.
But I don't reckon this is really up to the mods . They're afraid that some self-rightous parents would start biatching and suing this site. But hey, you know what? Don't worry about it. It's only a word. It's not like we're not allowed to express our opinions on everything here...

Hey Alfredo, you could have made those two posts into one, by the "editing" technique, but then again that would only count as one post, and you wanted two. That is called spamming, dont do it.

I also support unbanning the word, the slang word that is actually offensive is ghey, not g.a.y. People may use it as an insult, but it's not an offensive insult. However, it makes my skin crawl when people say 'that's ghey'. and they do it most of the time because the real word is banned. Please change this.

I may be making a big thing out of this Smith_fan, but I feel it's my duty as human being to put an end to discrimination. The fact that president Bush would "look into the legal possibilities to ban gay marriages, etc" Is something I find quite scary. Blaming a something on a specific group of people is not new to mankind, and it has always led to the death of innocents. I am proud to live in Holland, if that means we don't discriminate gay people (as much) as in the rest of the world.

The ban on the word gay has to stop, but so has to stop the bad meaning of the word. I belief that homosexuals are equal, and do not deserve or want to be discriminated.

I find discrimination of this kind unnecesary and disgusting. I would like to ask the administrator to talk to this person about it. I find this VERY disturbing, and am very angry that these kind of people excist. I was hoping only Bush, the pope and Hitler were anti-HomoSexuals.

If it helps you - I live in Cologne, Germany. It's the city with the highest number of homosexuals in Germany. And here is also The Cristopher Street Day (a homosexual parade). I'm also proud to live here and I don't have anything against homosexuals (one of my best friends is gay;)) but I think we should discuss the Matrix here and not any laws or anything against homosexuals. It's good that you can use the word "gay" again, but don't make such a big deal out of it. That's what I meant:)

PLUS the fact that I get hatemail, just proves how bad the reality is. I'm making a deal out of it. And if you think I'm pushing it fine. I am glad you don't discriminate. But don't think everyone beliefs all (wo)men are equal. Because apparently zion2004 thinks gay people shouldn't be on this forum. Well, since we do listen to all our members the word gay has been unbanned and g-h-e-y (****) has been censored instead ;). I hope this makes all parties happy. If we see people abusing this though, we will change it back :).

I don't like Bush either but we really can't do anything against his politics. I mean we protest against his government but it's just not right to protest here. I'm sorry if you get hatemails and somehow I knew that would happen (not everyone is as open-minded as the most members here are, sadly) but I was just referring to the point that it is getting way to political here. If you want to tell us your political opinion, do that in the "General Chat" and I will directly support you:) And I also thank the mods :)

I discussed "Bush's America" with a lot of other people in "The Matrix Has You" section (the thread was called "United Snakes...") but It was locked because it wasn't the right place to discuss it there. If you do a search you'll probably find the thread.:)
