Hey people.
I've been accused of stealing or remaking someone else (Terikan)'s work with my "Ebonic Translation of the Architect's Speech. I just want to say for the record that I've never even seen that post until this morning. Had I seen it, I'd never have bothered to post mine. Terikan's work is classic and I'd never bother to mess with it. My apologies for the appearance of plagerism or for the appearance of trying to remake someone else's work. The idea was suggested by another; neither of us knew that Terikan had already done another translation besides the Oracle/Neo/Smith conversation. I'm no thief. I am more than happy to give credit where credit is due and I've plenty of ideas of my own. So, for those of you who wish to accuse me, again, apologies for not knowing this existed. I respect the posters on this board far too much to pull some bullsh*t like that.
Thank you,
Hitman
I believe you Hitman. Accidents will happen. No one is perfect.
Of course Hitman- we know you wouldn't steal and plagarize. Even though Terikan did a kick ass version of a conversation with ebonic translation, it doesn't mean that others can't write ones of their own! And your's was bloody funny Hitman! So thankyou for all your effort in entertaining us- you make this forum a brighter place.
And don't listen to others who want to try and bring people down. You have a lot of talent for fiction, so just ignore the moaners :D
No hard feelin's I belive you . ive done it before when i wrote a Movie....It turned out my friend wrote almost the same thing...but he showed it to everyone else before me and once i did, they said i copied him...Heh! He copied me....Iam not saying that happened to u though
Those accusations have no merit. Long before Terikan posted his ebonic translation of the scene between Neo and the Oracle, people ebonically translated dialogue from other movies, and other works. Chances are we have all seen a spoof involving an ebonic translation. So why is it a big deal that Hitman later posted an ebonic translation of the scene between Neo and the Architect? It's not. In fact, I think it would be funnier to see the Architect, in all his whiteness, speaking in ebonics - and maybe, that is what spurred Hitman's thread, not that it matters.
Just because Terikan was the first (that we know about) to apply ebonics to a scene from the matrix, it does not give him a monopoly on ebonic spoofs relating to the matrix. Hitman, write away. Hell, write your own ebonic spoof of the conversation between Neo and the Oracle if you want.
A strong argument. Sorry I took so long Hitman but he's right: don't let those thrown accusations get you down. As long as your version is different, what's there to fear? It's not as if either of our stories here are copyrighted-we'd all be sued for plagiarizing the matrix in our fanfics. Lastly, Teriken himself didn't make a big deal of it.
Stay cool dude, your stories are still the funniest and they're original too-you've got no complaints from the rest of us fans. :)
Thank you guys for the support. I appreciate it greatly. I'm not going to let it get to me; I'll just have to be that much more inventive and creative...
It's no biggie, and since I'm not bichin about it, no one else really should. I think the reason why some people thought his derived from mine was the use of the word 'math'. It was rather uncanncy, but I believe coincidences do happen, and it's just silliness, not real literature, so it's nothing to get worked up about.
Although, I can't believe I wasn't in the 'who's funniest' poll! :P I guess I'm just too old.
