Revolutions Trailer discussion--with possible spoilers

Dont bother jumping in on the thread if you havent seen the newest trailer, because youre just slowing us down.

Apparently from what I saw, Smith has some kind of man-on-man crush with NEO (from the Neo-Bane/Smith scene and the other Neo-Smith scene). I know theyre enemies, but what's really going on?
Plus, I want to officially change my mind about the Matrix in a matrix theory--I was wrong. Apparently, since Neo got so close to the source, he has a piece of himself that can coordinate between the real world and the Matrix/the Source/the Machine-world.. that allows him to interupt/destroy the sentinels.
From what I saw, Neo and company make a run for the physical core after Morpheous and Trinity bring Neo back from Club Hell and get him up and running again. Once there they find machines willing to make a deal about the Smith problem (he's taken everyone in the Matrix and will produce an inevitable crash-screwing the machines).
Then Neo faces Smith for one final battle in the Matrix.

I still havent noodled thru the deal with the blindfold, yet. I guess it would be the only way he can see/affect the machine world the easiest wthout actually being in the Matrix OR the Machines would not let him see them for fear he would start taking them out ala the same trick he pulled with the Sentinels. Or he got blinded by Bane somehow.

Its pretty cool seeing a guy become a virtual God in three movies...and to think I didnt really like the first movie.

right. kinda pointless rambling.

yeah, and he coordinates it with magic.

That still doesnt explain the bolts that seem to just shoot out from his hands at the sentinels.

The only thing I could glean from the trailer is Merovingian insists
that Trinity brings the Oracle's eyes to him before he releases
Neo. Ironically, Neo's the one who loses his site. We'll have to
wait and see.

after seeing the trailer, i am VERY VERY skeptical about MIM now too. im starting to have doubts.

cause neo can destroy sentinels... consistantly now. they make it seem like neo destroys all the bombs with his mind (or sumthin) that are coming toward them when trinity says : tell me we'll make it and ill believe you.

and if he can consistantly control sentinels, and nothing else, then mim seems to be untrue. cause, if he can control the sentinels, why cant he do anything else?
cal5000

The bolts never came out of his hands, the bolts were coming out the setinels and jumping from one sentinel to the other. They show a close-up of his hand with nothing coming out, the lights were all in front of him.

There are not so similiar FX when they head for the machine world and Neo destoys the setinel armada to make a path to "01" (the home of the machines from the Animatrix). Apparently this is the only place left to enter the Matrix. Or safe place left anyway. There seems to be different factions within the machine-world that consider Neo to have a valid chance of ending the war. There are those who control the Sentinels (the Architect and co.) and the machine that he makes the deal with.

Still no clue about the blindfold, maybe hes a ninja.
cal5000

The Merovingian seems unconcerned with Smith...is this because he was safe from being overwritten because he was a program or he was protected somehow?

The last shots we see of the Matrix thats not totally full-o-Smith is the Club Hell shots and of the Merovingian...whats the deal with that?

I know the program with the kid sold out the Oracle, but where did the homeless guy go, I didnt catch him in the trailer. Did anyone else notice him?

If anything, Neo's ability to destroy sentinels strengthens MiaM.
If we are to believe that outside the Matrix is the real world, then
Neo having telekinetic ability is a stretch on the storyline. He's
not simply controlling them as agents do, deploying them at will -
He's destroying them. We shall see.

My theory:

Smith can control Bane and control Smiths inside the Matrix (Before he was 'set free' he could control Sentinels too). This leads me to believe that Neo's ability to destroy Sentinels comes from some kind of presence he continually has in the Matrix. I'm not sure what kind of presence this would be but since he's the systemic anomaly or the One or whatever you want to call him it's perfectly feasible to assume this as a theory.

I don't wish to speculate further into his control or how exactly he is connected to the Matrix simply because of the vast possibility and scope for plot-change in the next film. The trailers are obviously trying to channel our thought about what will happen in the next film and to be honest I don't believe the message I get from them. Something is not right about the clips (It's not that I disbelieve they're genuine, it's that I believe they are severely out of context).

Reloaded was a big shock to me and left me speechless. It just wasn't what I'd expected and in hindsight it was better than I could ever have hoped for. My last hope is that Revolutions will top both Reloaded and Revolutions, that it will surprise me silly, and that the plot doesn't suck.

Please let me be correct!!

Smith never controlled the sentinels.
They could order a strike/search but there was never a concrete link shown between the two. If there was dont you think Smith would have told the Sentinels not to dawdle when they attacked the Neb in the first movie and just kill Neo right away?
The agents are Matrix police and thats about it. They wrangle wild programs and hunt the rebels. The sentinels from the first movie were sent based on Cypher's treachery.

The homeless guy was still around, Neo certainly felt him as the homeless man laid the smack down on "the One".

I was thinking, the homeless guy could be a 'previous one' or something.

in enter the matrix, he walked up to niobe and said something about zion, how much time zion had left or something. so he knows more than you think, I do think he's a previous one.

Here's my thoughts I posted in another thread (I went over the trailer frame by frame).

My thoughts after slowmo'ing through the whole trailer:

- the 3 powerlines are now blatantly obvious .
- that dark orb-like being talking to neo looks like it has the architects face reflecting on the front. Not 100% sure, but it does slightly look like him.
- Neo allows the machines to plug him in.
- Neo wakes up in a subwaystation. My guess is this is the place where the Merovingian is keeping him trapped. The girl standing next to him is supposedly the daughter of the guy being led away in M2 when Neo arrives at the Merovingians restaurant (looks like he has a wife too, at least a pic in the photosection of the site tells us so). According to the Oracle this girl (a program) is a keyplayer in the movie.
- we see a large construction at the end of the human fields (looks like some gigantic city, 01?)
- mr. 72 hours from ETM guttsmashes Neo into a wall (text: mobil ave), while the girls mom and dad are standing there by the subway doors. As a side note, it's pretty obvious they used a stunt double .
- Neo realizes Bane is Smith and sees him for what he is (flame-like vision).
- Smith in the Oracles kitchen (oh wow, there's a shocker, NOT! ).
- Awesome special FX on the mechs! (looking better than the FX in Reloaded so far).
- Neo and Smith fight, nothing new there.
- Neo and Bane fight, also, nothing new.
- Guy jumping in front of the 'loop' subway train. Looks to me like it's mr. 72 hours (long hair and long coat).
- Uh-oh, they breached the dockwalls .
- More way cool mech FX .
- Neo walking through a golden like tunnel (I don't wanna hear anyone say anything about birthcanals and tunnels with light at the end).
- Neo doing the same trick he did at the end of Reloaded: stopping sentinels with his bare hands. This debunks the whole EMP theory and tells us it was in fact Neo who made them stop.
- As Trin and Neo fly through the exploding sentinels, one smashes through the windshield of the hovercraft and goes through Neo's body in a ghost-like manner.
- Smith talking to someone on a chair, or at least I think they are Smiths. Looks like we're in the oracles kitchen too, judging from the furniture to the left of the scene and the doorway to the right.
- blue sky! Looks like not all of the sky is scorched or they found a way to escape from it.

These are about all the things I noticed in the trailer. I'm not going to make any assumptions just yet. But if anyone has anything they'd like to add, please feel free to do so .

Update:
The yellow/orange like hallway Neo's walking in looks a lot like the last part of the robots dream in matriculated (thanks to my good buddy rootrider for the info).
Gobbles

crahan what do you mean when you say

I am the two

If you're talking about the word 'matriculated', gobbles, that's the name of one of the episodes in the Animatrix (the wierdest episode by far).
Matrixio

I think the Wachowskis are trying to tease us again with another little riddle. Like the ending of Reloaded. I bet they counted on people making up MIAM theories to explain how Neo stopped the sentinels in the real world.

Now we Matrix nerds have to explain how this hovercraft is seen on a background of clear, blue sky when we've consistently been told and have seen throughout the movies that the Earth's sky is scorched.

Wonder, wonder...
Gobbles

ahh ok......i havent seen the animatrix that many times cos i cant stand anime :S

Are the twins in this one or not?

And who dies in m3?
CraHan

Yes the twins are in Revolutions (at least that's what the profile page for the actors playing them says on www.imdb.com).
Jbox

When the sentenal goes through neo. It might be whats in neos mind. He might be using the blindfold to focus on his real world sight. It has that same wierd color as when he walks down that hallway which might also be in his mind(in between the real world and the matrix like the oracle said) or it could be walking in 01 about to go talk to that machine or it could be something toldly different.
Jbox

Im not so sure if the twins are coming back because their not shown at all in the trailer. Maybe since Reloaded and Revolution are one big movie. They wer signed up for both. But it seems like they would be back since they turned to phantoms before they blew up.
