Old programming format the key to AI?

Helios

I have recently found out about an old programming format called LISP once initiated LISP could modify it self in real time there were also several other programming languages like LISP they were the result of early experimintation with ai. As time went on though interest faded and programing became too complex, so now the world is dominated by clumsy programing languages like MS-DOS. So my question is why havent we dug up these up, because oviously whatever we are doing now is'nt working, ai of all things in the computing world seems to be progresing the slowest.

First of all, LISP sux ass. Second, DOS is not a programming language, it is an old skewl OS. Most main-stream programming takes place in C, C+, C++ or a version of VB. However, there are a BUNCH of different programming languages out there. Pearl, ASM, ADTRAN, to name a few. Do not blame the language for the resulting code. MS products are bloated and sucky because of how the code is written, not because of the lanuage used.

Shinigami is exactly spot on. Ask yourself why this outdated programne was ditched in the first place, and look up more on MS-DOS and it's relevent functions. LISP in its' first version couldn't run variables successfully enough . The second was pretty much the same. In the end you had to add solvers into every variable, then add more and more solvers until it bacame a progs nitemare
So it was antiquated and for obvious reasons redundant. So now we move on and use VB, or the Cs' Shinigami has already pointed out. Not to mention the other more efficient progs out there today.

Oh and here is an example in comedic format for us geeks to have a look at how old OS was, and yes I used MS as my OS too.

www.homestarrunner.com and hit the link emails. You'll find a 286 there also one I had way back when.

Just be grateful today and rarely the av joe uses it to only do a tracert.
