Sceptre why didn't the machines just grow animals like cows instead of growing humans - they give off bio-electricity as well - and they wouldn't really fight back... jimmerb83 lol uh...you're joking...right? There is more to the machines using humans besides them being batteries. have you seen the animatrix? the humans CREATED AI. And after they created these intelligent machines, the humans wouldn't even let them into their soceity. So what better way to get back at them than by using them as slaves? besides, would you prefer the matrix as a sprawling metropolis or a poopy cow pasture? smith_fan Originally posted by Sceptre why didn't the machines just grow animals like cows instead of growing humans - they give off bio-electricity as well - and they wouldn't really fight back... what a weird question:D Terikan no, it's a good question. However, I do believe that the machines did it partially as revenge for their treatment. smith_fan humans started the war. Somehow the Machines needed to survive and get energy. So, humans would be defeated and machines would get their energy to survive. And then of course with the Matrix, humans don't know what happens and can't try to defeat the machines. i c 3 d r p z the machines did it so they could keep the humans around. they didnt want to destroy them. what better way to keep them around and under control than in the matrix? Oracle2.0 perfect revenge. poetic even. wow, what skilled robots :D well, as the animatrix hints in episode 'matriculated' animals may actually be used in the matrix(they used a cute monkey) I find that to be very interesting. i c 3 d r p z how is it revenge?? the matrix is just a perfect human world. for most, it is exactly the same as the real world. better than the 'real world/zion'. how is it revenge? Oracle2.0 the machines are totally controlling the humans, just as the humans sought to do to AI. oh yeah, and they're using human's energy for fuel? isn't the whole point of the matrix movies that that's BAD? i c 3 d r p z plus, revenge isnt something that a machine would want to achieve. the only reason that they faught the humans is becuz they had to. the whole time they were trying to be accepted, not kill all the humans. and isnt this thread about why they are using humans for energy fuel? instead of cows? jimmerb83 ic3 is right on this one, what is really so bad about the matrix? its almost exactly like the real world. It's only bad when you decided to f*ck with it or try to get out. Think about what would happen if neo did free everyone. absolute chaos. Would you rather have that or a nice, controlled, peaceful matrix world? Oracle2.0 who says the machines wouldn't want revenge? hey, they could've destroyed the whole human race on the spot, right? but they didn't. are you even reading my posts, or are you just contridicting them? and yeah, it is 'bad' to be in the real world. and yeah, being free isn't all the rebels claim it to be. I guess it's just human kind's annoying habit of wanting to be in control. jimmerb83 you just totally contradicted what you said. if they wanted revenge, they WOULD have destroyed the humans on the spot. instead they thought they could use them as energy, simple as that. Oracle2.0 no no no, it's better to turn the tables. like I said, more poetic. just destroying them would be what they had no choice to do. i think it's way more evil to put humans into unknowing slavery. they help the enemy they don't even know they have. not logical, but almost beautiful. jimmerb83 i guess i see your point. ok....back to the thing about the cows:D hehe i c 3 d r p z oracle, oracle oracle. . . you say anything you can to turn stuff around onto me. of course im reading your posts. the question is are you reading mine, cause i already answered your quesetion. the machines want the humans around (i said that already). the humans created AI; and in turn the humans are the machine's purpose. by using humans as energy, they can keep busy by keeping the humans happy, and getting energy off it at the same time. cause the machines' ultimate goal (in the animatrix) was to live in peace with the humans. and now, with the matrix, they are. they can keep busy by keeping the matrix working properly, and the humans are controled. the humans are happy, the machines are happy. just like the machiens always wanted. "the 1st matrix was designed to be a perfect human world." why do they want to make it perfect? why not just make a program that the humans will always except? Oracle2.0 actually, I think it's cause cows wouldn't be able to do very coool kung-fu moves and...well, it just be WRONG for them to wear leather, so...:D i c 3 d r p z ha, thats so funny. jimmerb83 Originally posted by Oracle2.0 actually, I think it's cause cows wouldn't be able to do very coool kung-fu moves not true! haven't you seen kung pow? lol Oracle2.0 alright alright ice. look, I just look at things a certain way and I see know reason why the machines would WANT humans to be happy. it just doesn't make sense to me, sorry. i c 3 d r p z then why are they keeping them happy, and ALIVE? smith_fan Originally posted by Oracle2.0 who says the machines wouldn't want revenge? hey, they could've destroyed the whole human race on the spot, right? but they didn't. are you even reading my posts, or are you just contridicting them? and yeah, it is 'bad' to be in the real world. and yeah, being free isn't all the rebels claim it to be. I guess it's just human kind's annoying habit of wanting to be in control. There has to be always a "Resistance". It's bad to live outside the Matrix, ok, but I don't want to be controlled by machines. Sorry, EtaPhase Originally posted by i c 3 d r p z plus, revenge isnt something that a machine would want to achieve. the only reason that they faught the humans is becuz they had to. the whole time they were trying to be accepted, not kill all the humans. Actually, according to Rennaisance I & II, the machines segregated themselves to 01 to make their own society and were prosperous in building a commerce acceptable to the world. However, they re-emerged into the political scene and approached the UN (?) with demands that threatened the world's balance (going by memory, bear with me). The machines have much more to gain from anomolous free-thinking humans than they do from cattle. Each time the anomolous code gets analyzed from a human One (disseminated, then the prime program gets reinserted), the machines learn from it. Not much to learn from a cow except for chewing cud :) Oracle2.0 ice, they're not 'happy' they're in the same world we are living in now, which to me really really sux. I've changed my mind about the whole 'the matrix is good' statement. I contract. like smith said, we difine our world by pain. pain may feel bad, but it let's you know your still alive. and in the matrix movie world, that real world may be bad, but it lets the rebels know that they're free. It's not pain, it's free will. Every time free will is implemented, pain and misery are natural by-products. One's free will is another's anguish, or better put, one's free will is at the expense of others. Do I Exist? Someone said something about learing from the "one" What if that ends up being the ending. He gives himself up to the architect and suddenly love, the one thing that apprantly the other 5 didn't choose, sets the machines themselves free. though they've got all these other people floating around they could use........... MacLeod Actually Ice made a very good point: is the matrix that evil? At least they don't like torture the humans for eternity or something. Sure its green and everything-maybe they'll fix asthetics like that one day. But everyone's doing fine in it, and are about as happy and clueless as if they had lived and developed their civilization their way. This actually applies to the real world (ours). Instead of working on it or accepting what they can and can't change-enjoy what they have, lots of people waste their entire lives complaining and finding some "Truth" or outer "Paradise" that mosttimes never exists. That is perhaps a point the W bros may have inadvertently shown: that both sides in this conflict have a rightness to their goals... i c 3 d r p z ive had my own explaination for this for a long time. i may be getting repetative. the machines were created to serve humans. the machine's purpose is to serve humankind. and purpose is a very big theme in the matrix movies. now, w/o humans, the machines are purposless; they have no reason to exist. yes, they are AI and they can learn and evolve, but they entire reason for existing is to serve man. with the matrix, the machines are fulfilling their purpose. they keep the matrix up and running, serving humankind to a certain extent. with the matrix, the machines are still working for the humans, not the other way around. the humans are living in a perfect world. what do they have to sacrafice? nothing. deadcowdying hell..yea thats true i c 3 d r p z yes, it is. =) MacLeod But that's only an assumption: the ultimate significance in the creation of AI is its drive to be free. The machines can find a way to live without masters of any sort...they did so in 01. Sceptre ---- i'm glad to see this thread got some nice exposure... i understand the machine/man connection and why in the end it makes poetic sense that the machines would use man to get their power... but thing is this: revenge or spite and poetic revenge... its all crap. ultimately, the machines should want to rid man in its entirety - and then use a non-reluctant animal that produce even more energy. that is the 'purpose' of man for the machines after all.. energy. Jbox The only reason they keep the humans somewhat "happy" is to keep them from rejecting the Matrix. The evil is that they control everything. "then it really became our world"- Smith "Id like to be someone important........like an actor" " Anything you want Mr. Reagan" The machines are like fate. They control man's life and destiny because they can make someone an actor or anything they want. That was the point of this conversation "Do you believe in fate Neo" " No" "why not" " because I dont like the idea that im not in control of my life" " I know exactly what you mean" They didnt try to make the humans happy out of love. Did you see the animatrix. the second Renasiance. They ripped peoples bodies apart and tortured them to figure out how to use their brain. It showed them controlling human emotion it had the man start laughing then a second later crying. Every 100 years or so they kill a 1/4 million people in Zion. Also the matrix was redesigned for suffering so they would accept the program. Which means they control human suffering. theyre playing God. If you listen to comentary on the Matrix DVD they talk about why they used green in the matrix and they sucked the blue out. Because blue was to much of a liberating color. they also used wide lenses in the real world to show freedom and closer angles in the matrix and grids on walls to show a feeling of control. The only reason people are "happy" is because its all they ever known so they accept it. "Have you ever had a dream you were so sure was real. what if you wer unable to wake from that dream how would you know the difference between the real world and the dream world" Jbox Its not revenge. that would mean they would have the emotion of anger. They didnt use animals because they had long studied humans(it says this in the animatrix: second renaissance Part II) and I think they had more humans. probally after the war there wasnt many animals left. BackDoor OKay, i've just red the two first posts so if anyone alse has already said this I apologise, but I got this big urge of explaining it because I too fell under that mistake of ascking why not cows. Actually the answer is quite simple: Cows are vegetarian right? SO WHAT WOULD THE MACHINES FEED THEM? Remember that baby humans are fed intravenously by the dead ones right? So, the machines would have to grow fields, endless fields of....yes, grass! One more thing. A cow is stupid (I hope noone disagrees with that). So, the4 energy we rpoduce is mainly in our brain ( the charge of an electrical impulse in a neuron is far biguer than the muscle), so a stupid animal does not thinks! Also, cows rarely move! Combine these two and what do you have? Almost none evergy fabricated! Also, we have the thing of the essencial aminoaccids! Most animals do not produce all the aminoaccids they need. Carnivorous animals need lots of food because they spend them too quickly (okay this results in instant energy, but much food is wasted in the process). Also, vegetarian anymals take too long digesting food. So the best choice would allways be an omnivorous animal, and there are only two known: Man (me you and sister) and Pigs. Pigs are fat, ugly and they do not move and are stupid. So what is the best next choice? YEp........poor man kind..... View Full Version : The Ultimate Flaw In The Matrix Story |
