has anyone had a good look in the sky lately?
i live in Sydney, Australia, and tonight the skies were clear for me to look up and see mars in all it's glory, the closest it has ever been to earth in over 60, 000 years! (or something like that) Australia being the best place in the world to see it... or something?
It's nothing too exciting... just a star in the sky that stands out above the rest, and has an orange-like glow. Although i looked up to the skies a week or so ago, and it was near the moon and had more of a redish kind of glow...
... anyways! the universe rocks! :D

Ooh! Cool! Did u see "The Face"? Mars has perhaps the second largest significance in this whole solar system...it's such a rare miracle to have it come so close now...I never heard anything about it though and my home's too deep in the city's lights to see anything in the sky...:(
grr...we had clouds covering over us. oh well, it's only 55,000 years....
Yeah, its cloudy here as well. Doubt that it will be any better tonight. I really hate this state.

Actually, you'd only have to wait like 250 years until it happens again.
I don't know if it could be seen from Israel. There wasn't much excitemeny about it and I found about it too late.

everyone else has clouds except Aulatralia? weird. oh well, it's only...wait, what was the number again? :P
I read about it too- but this is the closest point in its orbit in 60,000 years. So it really will be that long before Mars is so close again :( But, as usual the UK is too cloudy to see anything
Oh well. If people hadnt been talking about it then u wouldnt have even known. So its not that big of a deal.
No actually, I've been looking forward to it for a while now! :( *grumbles about England*
yea! tonight: clear skies! It won't be as close, but close enough! :D
Actually every morning I go to www.space.com and see what's happening in the skys. Oh and we get clouds Truth, don't worry. It's actually raining like hell here today, again.
I love watching the shuttle the most. Always go to the NASA site and see where and at what time it comes over. Damn I'm cross now I gave my mate that kick @ss telescope. *pout*
i can't believe i'm missing this.
it's been so cloudy these past few days i can't see jack.
