CAN YOU BREAK THIS CODE?

One of the interesting aspects of the ETM storyline is the presence of an encrypted language or "matrix code". Warner and the Wachowski Brothers created this code and used it in both the game and the ETM Strategy Guide.

CAN YOU BREAK THIS CODE?
Jetfire

No because I can't be bothered and that some else has already posted something like that before.
Unamuno

Right. "I" posted it before.

But no one seems to realize the significance of the "matrix code".

Has anyone else hacked into the Matrix website and "cracked the code" as directed in the game?

Go to www.thematrix.com
Click on the yellow button bulb on the far right.
Click on the SQUARE gray box that appears to the right.
Click on it again to obtain the Binary Access Panel.
Click on the panel ridges to open it.
Enter 01101111 and the Hexadecimal Access Panel will appear.

Want more details?
The Rabbit Hole is far deeper than the movies and the game.
JakeNewman

I've got my foot stuck in the rabbit hole. How do I get it out?
Jetfire

Were you being funny there or are you serious?
Jetfire

So whats AFDEA867? Numbers 1010 1111 1101 1110 1010 1000 0110 0111. I have no idea why I'm bothering. Just curious. Since you haven't got this code in your little list. I was wondering if it is at all anything special.

Laziness, the root of all evil... Look at the translations and see if you can pick up some patterns. I already have:

Every phrase in "matrix code" begins with a 3 letter PREFIX. The first letter in the prefix is always a letter from B through J. The second letter is always a letter from A through D.

Beyond that, the number of letters in the matrix encoded word is identical to the word from it is translated, i.e. a four letter word such as BOSS translates to the three letter prefix "IAB" plus four letters "HAHV", or, added together, "IABHAHV".

Spaces in a phrase are represented with a "7".

That is all the farther I've gotten in solving this riddle. But I can't help but believe that unlocking this code has value beyond the game and the strategy guide. The editors for whatisthematrix.com have sprinkled encrypted terms on the website.
Jetfire

Or maybe just congratulations.
Unamuno

To hell with congratulations.
If you want respect, break the code.

Where did you see "AFDEA867"?
It looks like one of the codes for use in the Hexadecimal Entry Portal of thematrix.com but I tested it and it doesn't do anything.
Jetfire

What else where you expecting? Your not going to get anything but that. It doesn't say that you get anything for breaking the code. Thanks for checking out the code thingy. I didn't think it was special. Let me just ask you something (in a nice way) what are you expecting to achieve out of this?
Unamuno

Honestly, I'm not sure myself. I just have a gut instinct that there's something deeper here with this matrix code. The Wachoski Brothers were involved in every phase of the Matrix storyline, including the movies, the videogame and the Strategy Guide.

The matrix code encrypted words appear in the Reloaded movie, the ETM videogame, throughout the Strategy Guide, and on the official website. This leads me to believe that the Wachowski's were involved in the development of the code.

Add to this the presence of unexplainable "dead ends" such as www.danielinstitute.com and www.omegahardwaresolutions.com referenced in the ETM game. Check these out. Is there a backdoor in for someone who knows the code? Possibly.

What if uncovering the code itself reveals some further messages or insights into the storyline? What if knowing it would enable access to previously unexplored websites related to the Matrix?

These are just a few of the thoughts driving my obsession to decipher this code. Or, to quote Morpheus, "It's like a splinter in my mind that you can't get rid of."
Jetfire

You right. No more questions from me. I'll help you in any way I can. :)
Unamuno

Thanks for the offer.

I was slightly incorrect in my quotation of Morpheus. It was:

What you know you can't explain but you feel it. You've felt it your whole life, felt that something is wrong with the world. You don't know what, but it's there like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
3nity_twisted

I could but... I'm not going to tell you! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAH!~
Jetfire

Thats just pure mean. If your not going to help 3nity_twisted, then don't post anything.
3nity_twisted

of course I'm mean... come on... it's not THAT hard to decode....
Jetfire

You mean you've already done it?! Tell us!!! Tell us!!!
Unamuno

It's pretty damn hard...I've tried hexadecimal and binary conversion forward and backward. It doesn't appear to be based on that. It's not based on a standard "Be sure to drink your ovaltine" Orphan Annie alphabet-slide. The 3 character prefix has characteristics but no consistent pattern. There's no consistent translation pattern, i.e. the word "PILL" translates differently for "RED PILL" as opposed to "BLUE PILL". It's not an easy encryption pattern to decipher.

So if you have any insights, 3nity_twisted, please enlighten us.
HomoUniversalis

Let me get this straight...

You think decyphering this code will give you access to restricted data?

What kind of person would put up a site (for example) knowing that it would not be visited by anyone except a few geeks with enough time on their hands to decode the link?

And did you perhaps even think about the fact that the Wachowski brothers might not have invented this code for a purpose, but simple there as a nice commercial detail.

Which I find more logical since they asked a company to develop the code (partially) for them...

I'm sorry but I'm having difficulties believing that anyone would come up with that...
Jetfire

I'm just helping. And who are you refering to as geeks?
Unamuno

Not necessarily but what if deciphering the code enables you to delve deeper into the hacking section of the game, possibly uncovering other cheat codes and/or training constructs?

What if uncovering the codes enabled you to figure out additional hexadecimal entry codes for thematrix.com website...After all, there are only 4,294,967,295 different combinations - Do you honestly think the other hackers have uncovered all the working codes?

Even if those mystery websites remain dead ends, these other possibilities would justify the effort.
Jetfire

I highly doubt it. This one one of those, what you see is what you get kind of things. No hidden suprises I'm afraid.
Unamuno

I think you're right.

As I detailed on some other threads, I've become convinced that Shiny didn't finish certain parts of their contract. The web mystery and matrix code must have been abandoned in the interest of time and meeting the May 15 deadline.
bob-dylan

this games awsome!!!!!!!!

Ibeat the hacking stuff first and now im finishing the main game so i can use the sword
jimmerb83

i didn't know bob dylan played video games
Jetfire

I don't know who he is?! Please tell.
Unamuno

You just revealed your age, Jetfire90.

Do a google search on Bob Dylan.

Sincerely,

you guys are sad they are artists...
NeoRunner

Bob Dylan is simply one of the best artists ever! And he has a son called Jacob Dylan, vocal of the band Wallflowers, one of the best bands ever!
Unamuno

I believe it's Jakob Dylan.

And yes, SullenGirl, I know who Jimi Hendrix is.
I was just picking on Jetfire90.

Jetfire

Why you picking on me? I know who Jimmi Hendrix is also. Only the best guitarest ever... Well was. As for Bob Dylan, I really aint bothered right now about who he is. It has nothing to do with the topic we are discussing anyway... So... Back to topic...
jimmerb83

lol I'm sorry for causing all this chaos! I'll just shut my mouth next time!:D
Unamuno

Back to the topic...

Does anyone have any further insights into the Hacking Section of the game with regards to the Decode command and the encrypted words at the beginning of this thread?
Jetfire

I suggest you do jimmerb83 lol. J/K. :D I have completed the hacking section completely. But am staying away from that crap game all together. I'll try and remember what I can when neccessary.
JakeNewman

Nope. Although to me it seems like they've totally under-used the potential of the whole hacking thing. It's pretty linear and disappointing (and utterly futile on the PC version). I got to drive B unassisted and gave up (decided that guides would be a faster method) and was glad to find that I didn't waste hours typing on that eye-damaging, lime green, totally inaccurate dos prompt type thingy.

Apart from that, I loved it.

Jake
Jetfire

Well I still like the hacking. Like your new avatar Jake!
jimmerb83

yeah great avy, u did an impressive job of looping
Jetfire

Jake, How do you do the looping exactly?
Unamuno

I actually liked the Hacking section.

Did anyone get further than unlocking Swordplay, the Training Construct and the Multiplayer feature?

Or is that the limit of the Hacking section?

P.S. Jetfire90, if you hated the damn game so much, why do you visit the discussion forum for it EVERY DAY? I'm in here every day but I don't profess to hate the game... NOTE: I'm not criticizing but I don't understand the attention you place on a game you supposedly hate.

He just does that to gain posts, if you haven't seen already. I think he actually has taken a liking to the game, cuz he complains about it so much
Unamuno

Are posts redeemable for Matrix wall clocks, sunglasses and other unique prizes from the catalog?
JakeNewman

At the risk of taking the magic from my avatar, it's only three frames...I found a part of one of the trailers where Smith doesn't move much when he's standing in the rain. Put my signature blue border and JakeNewman on it and I think it looks OK. But I'm gonna start working on a masterful Matrix Revolution avtar soon.

I did attach a file to my previous post but for some reason it didn't appear. Well, here it is again:

Edited: WHY CAN'T I ATTACH STUFF (Probably because I wasn't listening when there was some huge announcement)

Since I can't attach it, here it is via my wonderful website.

Time to do some avatar making, jet... lol :D
