Bane/Smith was not the man being lead away as Neo, Trinity and Morpheus walked to The Merovingian's table. Bane is bald/ing, Smith wears a suit. The man had a full head of hair, and no suit. =)

you sure about that...as th4e person being led away had a goatee and looked remarkably similar to Bane....

since the W brothers don't just put in things for no reason

It isn't Bane. It's a unknown guy. We'll probably see him in Revolutions.

It is the "Trainman" from the Enter The Matrix Game.

He is in the revolutions. Some people think that he was one of the previous "ones" as he talks about one of the previous Zions descrution by the machines.

Does anyone have a picture of the Trainman? The only one I've seen (sorry, can't remember where it was) didn't look anything like the guy at La Vrai. The trainman looked a lot older and much messier:) But the guy at La Vrai was young (ish) and healthy- the only similarity I saw was the straggly hair, but the trainmans was grey, not black.

You're right. Looking my DVD copy carefully, it isn't the trainman.

Well he could be..........I guess. But only in about 20 years of living on the streets. But that raises the question: who are they then?

I think the guy being led away is the program for time. I'm certain that the guy leading this guy away is the guy that is seen being kicked in the face by Seraph in the trailers.

Hmmmm....hadn't thought of that! So that would mean that the Merovingian controls Time. But what good would that do him?

It might be the program that the oracle talked about in the game about selling her shell to get their son back. He might be there trying to get his son back.

I just look at the trailer and I think youre right about that being the guy he kicks. it looks exactly like him. I think its also the guy trinity kicks. She grabs his arm that has the gun in it then she does a high to his face.

the hell? the guy being kicked my seraph is bald. cukoo clock boy has long hair. maybe he shaved it but i doubt it. it doesnt really look like the guy smiling in the subway either. some similarities, but defiently not the same person.

No. The guy being kicked by Seraph is not cuckoo clock man. The guy being kicked by Seraph is the guy leading cuckoo clock man away from the restaurant.

I like the theory that the guy is there to deliver the oracle's shell.

I also like the bane theory.

What if it really is bane, not smith/bane. Like when bane's body got taken over, his consciousness lost contact with his body and was completely in the matrix. Mero finds him, wants to keep him around for amusement.

Hey but if its Bane wouldn't they recognize him? They did encounter him at the ending of M2...

when you just get a quick look at someone, it may not snap that they are who they are, especially if you've only seem them once. Neo was looking at him too, maybe he felt like he recognized him, but couldn't put his finger on it.

If you look at the picture you can see that whomsoever he is, he's not Bane or Smith.
The guy you see is an unknown character who we possibly meet in m3... there are some theories:
that guy has the Oracles termination code
that guy controls time in The Matrix
that guy is the father of Popper
don't know we'll found out in m3, i hope

I never thought that it could be poppers father but now you say it it could make sense.

I just thought:
The child of two programs is popper, but two programs sold the termination code of The Oracle to the Merovingian.
If that man has the termination code, he is Popper's father, who is forced to betray his own child (he is looking kinda numb), to the benefit of the machines and the system.
