and one scene where trinity hugs neo- and from what i saw neo was wearing the same exact thing as in the end of M1!

Yes, is it illegal to dl even if it's only from a site cuz that sharing and if you haven't read the news or watched the news lately a bunch of colledge kids got sued and fined for like $3,000.00 or more I'm not sure about the exact amount...also there was a law passed that dl sharing is illegal as dling. Yes, but it's JUST A TRAILER. It promotes the movie. The story with the college kids is true, but they downloaded a full MOVIE! And that's illegal. Originally posted by smith_fan

Yes, I know that but it leads back to the question of sharing a trailer. Because in my opinion, as I've already explained, a trailer promotes the movie. So there isn't anything bad. I think we need the help of one of the mods. I wanna know what they think Legally, we can allow promotions to the movie, such as posters, and movie trailers, as long as they are pre-released to the public.
Seeing as the movie trailers ( both, the one at the end of Reloaded and the one in Enter the Matrix, the game ) are readily accessable by the public by different means, this has no legal bearing on the site.
Hence, it can stay. :)

thanks. I definitely have the same opinion. I don't see how it could breach any copywright laws. It's not like the Wachowskis are losing money, or for that money, being hurt. At the very end of Reloaded, there is a Revolutions Trailer, and at the very end of Enter The Matrix, the game, there is a Trailer.
These two trailers, may be different to the UK public, but seeing as the trailers for the United States versions are released, we legally can accept the UK trailers because of the fact we're a United States based website. I believe these are free domain now. can we talk more about whats happening the the trailer trinity points her gun at (i think) Merovingian. even in freeze frame, the guy's face is in shadow. all the smiths in rain fight scene are making faces

Look SullenGiRLaFa, the short answer is you are wrong on this. Simply stated, a trailer is a short movie released to the general public as a promotion for a movie. It doesn't matter if you get it from the official website or from kazaa, the fact that it was released as a trailer for the sole purpose to promote a movie makes downloading it perfectly legal.
It would be illegal if it was a full movie you had to pay for to see it (in the theatre or on DVD). Then you would be in violation of the law. The kids you are referring to were sharing mp3s and full movies and were indeed breaking the law. Sharing a trailer is ok and won't get you into trouble. here are some pic from the trailer (sorry horrible quality)
