can someone please explain matricalculated to me. it just doesn't make sense. o, and on that note, neither does world record either.

I think you spelled it wrong, and I think that animatirx episode signifies AI cuz that thing was horny and devolped feelings

In my opinion, Matriculated forecasts humankind, its thoughts of the machines, and why humankind will never see the AI as equals. The humans wanted to "use" the captured machine to help the humans defeat the other machines. In order to do this, the humans created a bond with the machine by making it believe that humans were there to help the machine. Eventually, the machine converted and was willing to help the humans. However, after the machine helped the humans, and plugged itself in with the surviving female character, the female freaked out at the thought of the machine becoming intimate with her (and I don't necessarily mean sexually). This displays humankinds extreme reluctance to live on equal terms with the machines - which caused the Second Renaissance in the first place.

In Matriculated this group of people try to teach the machines to be human. Unfortunately they (the people doing the experiment) get killed by some machines, yet they seem to have succeeded in making one of those machines more human.

Yeah, but then the woman at the end freaks out when the machine appears to lust after her.

Well, that's cause she's having a near death experience. She's just been pretty much killed by a machine and suddenly she finds herself in a program with one of those machines; that's creepy! To make matters worse it's the machine they were trying to teach to respect human life through the program, yet ironically it's now herself who's being plugged into the program by the machine.
