What are the benefits of being The One?

What powers and responsibilities does Neo have by being The One? What can he do that other people of Zion can't do? Please answer this.

What can Neo do that the people of Zion cannot? Well, he can jack into The Matrix, first of all. Anyone born in Zion does not come with a plug in the back of their head, so they can't enter The Matrix. But i'm sure you knew that.

What can Neo do that his fellow freedom fighters cannot? He has a much better understanding of The Matrix, whether because of faith, purpose, or the unbalanced equation that attached itself to him at some point. Things we've seen? He can fight better than any one of them. He can see The Matrix in code (this means he can identify programs right off the bat, i would imagine). He can fly. He has power over virtually everything inside The Matrix.

What are his responsibilities? This question is a little more difficult.

Neo's responsibilities to Zion:

Neo is The One. He is the person who is supposed to somehow free humanity from the confines of The Matrix, bring the people of Zion back to the surface of Earth, and defeat the machine civilization. A lot on that boy's plate, that's for sure.

Neo's responsibilities as The Anomaly:

As stated by The Architect, it is the function of this anomaly to return to The Source when the population of Zion becomes too threatening for the machiens. Upon his return, he is to allow a temporary dissemination of his code (the very thing that makes him anomalous, or The One). When this code is spread throughout The Source (whether that is Zion or not), he is to choose 23 individuals from within The Matrix to repopulate Zion. The Matrix will then be reloaded, and everything will go as it has been.

Personally, being The One has more con's than pro's in my opinion. I think his role is more honestly for the machines. His existence serves as an emergency button for machines. A way of making sure things continue to go smoothly.

although the other ppl in zion (morpheus, trinity, niobe, etc) have powers similar to neo's, neo has powers that are on a much higher level.

whew. he has strong powers. thats the only benefit i can see.

I am going to have to agree with the others, neo has great responsibility for himself and others around him I think in a way neo is the protecter of zion. Also There has to be somthing diffrent about neo(I am relating him to the other "ones"). I just think that some how somthing will go diffrent this time rather than the other 5 times the matrix was rebuilt!!!
