hey, I can't use attachments, so here's epi 1:

The Capricorn: Episode 1:Wake Up Call
A young woman entered a loud, crowded club. She had darkly tanned skin, short, black hair, and brown eyes. She looked out of place, because while everyone else had stylish party clothes on, the young woman, Crystal, was wearing a gray t-shirt and jeans. She looked around, scanning the room.
In the far back, almost invisible, because he stood in the shadows, was Hawk, a man about Crystal’s age, 21, who had blond hair and eyes that looked like they’d seen too many things they shouldn’t have. He made eye contact with Crystal, then moved his head to show he wanted her to join him.
As Crystal approached, Hawk held his breath. God, did he love her. He loved her more than anything or anyone in the world. Or, what was left of the world. Hawk had only known Crystal for a few months, but he was sure of it: he was madly in love with Crystal, a clueless slave of the machines. Well, she wouldn’t be a slave for much longer…
Finally, Crystal pushed her way through the dancing partiers and made it to Hawk. “Hey,” she said coolly. “Hey,” Hawk replied. He tenderly took Crystal into his arms, so no one would suspect them as he whispered into her ear, “So, you’re sure you want to know the truth about the Matrix?”
Crystal looked up into Hawk’s eyes. Her face had a look of seriousness cast over it. “I’m sure. I want to find out, even if it’s the last thing I do.” “It may very well be. Or at least close,” said Hawk grimly. Crystal’s face didn’t change. She was ready. She was willing. Hawk could feel it.
“Ok,” he said. He took Crystal’s hand and led her to and out the back door. “You’re going to meet some friends of mine,” Hawk said as he and Crystal walked briskly down a dingy alley way to the street, where a black car waited.
In the driver’s seat, there was a black man short-cut beard. Behind him in the passenger’s seat was a woman with long red hair. Crystal noticed that they, like Hawk, were wearing clothes that looked like they’d cost a fortune.
“This is Tigris,” said Hawk with a nod to the driver. “And this is Piper.” The woman with red hair gave a small wave. Hawk opened the passenger door for Crystal. “Get in.” She obeyed. Hawk closed the door and got in next to Tigris. The car started and began to pull out.
“Oh, by the way…” Hawk was interrupted by the click of Piper putting a gun to Crystal’s head. Crystal put her hands up. “What is this? Hawk?” “It’s ok,” he said, turning around to look at her. “How is this ok? I have a ****ing gun at my head!”
“Look,” said Tigris, “Trust us. In return, we’ll trust you.” Crystal put her hands down, but naturally, she still looked nervous.
“It’s alright,” said Piper, “Just do what we tell you to do and everything will be okay.” Crystal swallowed hard. “Now, lift your shirt up,” said Piper as she put the gun into her pocket and reached down between the back seat and the driver’s seat. Crystal obeyed, but asked, “Why?”
As Piper pulled out a metal instrument with a large clear dome on one end, she said, “Dream of any pelvic exams from hell?” Crystal thought back. She tried to remember… FLASH! Men in suits wearing sunglasses looming over her… FLASH! A mechanical bug burying itself in her stomach… Crystal’s eyes widened in shock. “Thought so,” said Piper as she put the clear dome on Crystal’s stomach.
Piper pressed a button and three metal claws came out and pressed down into Crystal’s skin over her stomach. “There you are, sweetie. Come to mommy…” said Piper as she watched a small screen on the instrument.
“Brace yourself. This is going to sting a little,” She warned. She pressed a button and immediately an electrical charge shot through Crystal’s body. Crystal let out a cry of pain as the mechanical bug shot out of her stomach and into a glass vile on the instrument.
Piper removed the glass vile and showed it to Crystal. “Some dreams come true when you really wish they wouldn’t,” she said. “Piper, get rid of that thing,” said Hawk from the front. “I think I’m going to be sick,” said Crystal, looking at the bug. Piper rolled down her window and tossed the bug out.
A few minutes later, the car came to a stop. Crystal looked up. The final destination was deserted. There were chains, poles, wooden structures…and slides. “You have to be kidding me,” said Crystal as she looked at the dark playground.
“Come on,” said Tigris, “Mac and Maddox are waiting.” The group got out of the car; Piper continued to hold Crystal at gun point, but after the bug thing, a gun didn’t seem as bad to Crystal. The group made their way past the swings, jungle gyms, and sandboxes, to the brick concession building in the back of the park. They entered through the side door of the building. Piper, who was last, closed the door behind them.
The building was empty. The concession stand was closed until the next month, June. There was basically one room in the stand, but it was large enough to serve Hawk and his friends’ purposes. Some machinery, which didn’t look familiar in the least to Crystal, was set up in the room. There were some plastic chairs scattered around the room. Also, there were two more people, an Asian man with hair that went past his ears, but not to his shoulders; and an older looking man, not very old, not yet 40, but still, compared to the others, looked old.
“Just got a call from Dex. We don’t have much time,” said the Asian man. “This is Maddox,” explained Hawk, gesturing to the Asian man. Hawk took Crystal over to a plastic chair, then he and everyone else, except for the older man, stood over to the right side of the room, giving the older man and Crystal some space.
“Hi, I’m Mac,” said the older man. “Um, hi,” replied Crystal. “I understand you’ve already seen what can happen when dreams come true,” said Mac. Crystal didn’t answer. “What would you think if we had never removed that bug? How would you feel?” Mac asked. “Well, different. I wouldn’t have been really freaked out,” answered Crystal. “Which would you prefer? Having that dream stay a dream, or that dream becoming a reality?” “Whichever is the truth,” Crystal answered. “But you already said that you didn’t like the fact of finding out whether it was just a dream.” “So? It’s better than not knowing, isn’t it?”
Mac paused. “I understand that you’ve also been having another dream. This one for a longer period of time,” he said, “Tell me about it.” Crystal shifted in her chair. “I’m with a lot of people. No, not a lot…it’s more like…everyone, you know?” “How do you feel?” Mac asked. “I feel…cold. Then suddenly, I feel like I’m falling, then like I’m flying. And then there’s this really bright light. Then there are people with me, in the light. That’s when I feel warm, I don’t feel cold at all.” Crystal had finished.
Mac reached into his pocket and pulled out a silver case. He opened it and showed the contents to Crystal: a red pill and a blue pill. “We’re running short of time, so I’m going to make this quick: You take that red pill: your dream becomes reality and your reality becomes a dream. You take the blue pill, all of the events this evening will become a dream, and your reality will stay as is,” he said. Crystal hesitated. Hawk held his breath. He thought, “Come on Crystal. Don’t blow it. Choose the truth.”
Crystal took the red pill and popped it into her mouth. Mac handed her a paper cup with water in it. She swallowed the pill. Hawk couldn’t help but smile.
Suddenly, everyone began moving. Piper, Maddox, and Tigris went to the machines. Hawk went over to Crystal, and led her to another chair, closer to the machinery. “You made the right choice,” he said, smiling. Mac got out a cell phone. Piper hooked up some wires to Crystal. “Here comes the fun part…” Piper said. Crystal heard a sound. She realized it was the sound of her heartbeat on a heart monitor. “What the hell?” she muttered to herself.
“Got a signal yet, Dex?” Mac asked on the cell. “Hang on,” said a female voice on the other line, “Got it!” “Okay, she’s ready to wake up,” said Maddox. “What do you mean, ‘Wake up’?” Crystal demanded. “It’s okay,” said Hawk. “Tip: keep your eyes on the ceiling,” said Maddox. Crystal paused, but did so.
Then, the ceiling was getting fuzzy. No, it was disappearing. No, it was turning peach… Crystal was on her back in peach-colored ooze! She soon realized there was something stuck down her throat. She pulled it out. She really couldn’t tell what it was. She sat up and gasped in air. Suddenly, snap, snap, snap! The cables were snapping out of Crystal’s body. Crystal felt intense pain as they snapped out of her back.

Finally, it seemed like it was over. Crystal ran her hand over her head. She found that she was bald! Not only that, but she was also naked. As Crystal ran her hand across her head again, she felt one last cable, right in the back of her neck.
Out of nowhere, a spider-like machine swooped down and grabbed Crystal’s neck with it’s metal ‘legs’. Crystal let out a scream as the machine took out the cable. Then, Crystal was suddenly being sucked down into a pipe. She came falling out into a sort of lake, composed of more ooze. Crystal gasped for breath and closed her eyes. “Oh god, let this be a dream. Please let it be some horrible nightmare.”
Suddenly, Crystal was being lifted up, up into a bright light. When she finally reached the light, there were people there, she could hear their voices. Voices she recognized… “There she is.” “Crystal, welcome aboard The Capricorn.” Someone wrapped her in a blanket and two other people half dragged, have carried her under her arms. Then Crystal went to sleep…
There was bright light around her. She opened her eyes. She could hear voices. “Get some sleep, Hawk. Enough is enough,” said Mac. “Come on, Mac,” said Hawk. He didn’t want to leave Crystal. Over the past few days, he’d barely left he side. “Hawk…” whispered Crystal. He looked down at her. He held her hand. “Go to sleep, Crystal. You’ll have all your questions answered, but right now you have to get to sleep,” he said. Crystal didn’t argue. She closed her eyes and slept peacefully.

A week later, Crystal, in a black shirt with a wool hat on, sat alone in the dinging hall of The Capricorn. She’d learned a lot in the past few days. It wasn’t pleasant to learn the truth, but she had to admit, not knowing and being harvested for energy didn’t sound much better. She learned about the Capricorn’s crew. Mac was he captain, second in command was Tigris, Maddox had a twin sister, Dex, who was the operator of the Capricorn.
Hawk entered the kitchen and greeted crystal with a soft kiss. “How are you?” he asked as he sat next to her. She shrugged. “I’ve been better,” she said. “I know it’s hard,” said Hawk, “But it’ll be alright. I promise.” He held her hand tenderly. She leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. Maybe it would be okay afterall.

The sun was shining brightly on the school grounds as the end of the day bell rang. Students in the navy blue jackets, skirts, and slacks of the school’s uniform swarmed out of the yellowish brick building. The school was practically crushed by the intimidating skyscrapers of the city that loomed from above.
Across the street, in a black car, Hawk and Mac sat in the front, Crystal sat in the back. They were scanning the kids as they departed from the school. A cell phone rang. Mac picked up a Nokia next to him.
“Seen any yet?” Piper asked on the other line. “None. I don’t see any potentials at all,” Mac answered. To see better, Hawk removed his sunglasses. There had to be some kid that looked promising, or at least slightly worth looking into. Mac hung up the cell. “Piper and Maddox haven’t seen anyone either,” he said. Hawk sighed.
He was about to pull out when… Tap, tap, tap! Crystal jumped. There was some kid knocking on her window. Crystal put a ready hand on her gun. The boy could turn into an agent at any second. Tap, tap, tap! The kid didn’t look like he was going anywhere.
Hawk pressed a button and Crystal’s window rolled down. “Hey, I’m here for the stuff. Don’t worry, I brought cash,” said the kid. “What?” Crystal asked, removing her sunglasses. “You guys are the new dealers, right?” the kid asked. Hawk, Mac, and Crystal exchanged looks. This kid was being downright stupid.
Crystal, after quickly looking around to make sure no one saw, took out her gun and placed it to the kid’s head. “No, we’re not new dealers, we work for the F.B.I. and we’re working a very important case. Now get lost, or we’re going to have a nice chat with your principle about why you are looking for drug dealers,” she said in a quiet, dangerous tone.
The kid didn’t need to be told twice. He started walking away at a very quick pace. Crystal rolled up her window. “Not in a good mood?” Hawk asked. Crystal opened her mouth to answer, but at that moment looked into the rearview mirror. The junkie kid wasn’t there anymore. An agent stood in his place, only yards away.
“Hawk, hit the accelerator. Now!” said Crystal. Hawk saw the agent too, just as he was pulling out his gun. Hawk sped into the street. Mac called Piper, “Abort! We have an agent on us! Abort!”
The first agent was now getting in a Camry, where another agent sat in the driver’s seat. Now it was a race. Hawk ignored the orange-coated crosswalk lady as he sped through a red light.
“Some kids just won’t take ‘no’ for an answer,” said Hawk as he made a sharp turn. “Less talk, more driving,” said Mac.
As the black car came to an intersection, a bus pulled right in front, blocking the black car from getting through. Mac caught a glimpse of sunglasses and a suit at the wheel. Hawk went into reverse, made a back turn, and drove straight onto the wide city sidewalk.
People in their work clothes leaped out of the way of the speeding automobile. Some of them turned into agents, but Hawk just zoomed past them. Once they were past the bus, Hawk pulled onto the street again. Soon, police cars were after them as well. Mac turned the cell on again. “Dex, you’d better have an exit ready!” he barked.
“Yeah, I’ve got one about a block away. Go into the Baker and Hosteller law offices. The phone in the lobby on the desk, use that. Be careful, there’re two guards,” she said on the other line. Mac repeated the directions to Hawk and Crystal.
The black car came to a screeching halt in front of the tall white building of Baker and Hosteller. “Move!” yelled Hawk as the group sprinted into the building as agents began firing at them.
Suddenly, Mac let out a cry of pain. Hawk, who was barely a foot away turned around to help Mac, who’d been shot in the arm. They finally made it inside. Crystal, who got in just seconds before hand, shot the two guards in the shoulder.
On the desk in the lobby was a phone. Hawk picked it up. “Mac, you first,” said Crystal. Hawk handed it to Mac, who held it to his ear, then slowly faded away. Hawk took the phone next, faded, and was then followed by Crystal.
Crystal slowly opened her eyes as Dex took the cable out of Crystal’s neck plug. Hawk was just sitting up from his chair. Mac took a sharp breath as Piper wrapped a bandage around his wound. “We’ll get it checked out when we get to Zion,” said Maddox, who was watching from across the room. “You guys get out alright?” Crystal asked, referring to Maddox and Piper.
“Fine,” said Piper, “With you guys going on the sidewalk and all that, it was a piece of cake to take safer route to Baker and Hosteller.”
“How close are we to Zion?” Tigris asked as he entered the room. His eyes fell on Mac. “Mac, what happened?” he asked. “Agents. But don’t worry. I’ve had worse,” said Mac as he got up from his chair. “I’ll say,” said Tigris, “Remember that one time when…” “How close are we to Zion?” Hawk asked, repeating the question.
“We’ll be there in an hour, if we don’t have any sentinel problems,” Dex answered. “Let’s hope we don’t,” said Maddox.
The group of fighters began to leave the room. They’d almost died…again. One of their team members was injured…again. They’d threatened an innocent person in a violent way…again. And still, they went on in a steady beat. It was just another day in an on going war.
Choi

Is good, but why did Mac need a bandage? The worse that would happen by my thinking would be a huge black and blue mark.

The Capricorn: Episode 3: Home Sweet Home
A tired Piper, carrying a bag of her possessions walked into her tiny apartment in Zion. She turned on a light. She looked around. Things didn’t look like they’d changed much.
Suddenly, Piper was greeted by the shriek of her tiny daughter, Truth, “Mommy!” Truth ran on her little legs to her mom, hugging Piper’s legs tightly. “Mommy, I missed you so much!” Piper put her bag down and picked up Truth. “How’s my little one?” asked Piper with a smile. Truth was Piper’s personal sunbeam. Truth was a free child of Zion, never having to face the terrible experience of living in a false world to wake up in the real world.
“Looks like she woke up from her nap just in time,” said Piper’s husband, Lucas, as he entered from the next room. Piper walked over to Lucas and gave him a kiss. “How are you?” she asked as she stroked Truth’s brown hair. “Been missing you,” Lucas replied after kissing her back.

Tigris was sitting on a chair in his kitchen, drinking from a chipped mug. He was alone.
There was a knock at the door. Tigris got up to see Rinara, a young woman with lightly tan skin and long, black hair. She had puffy, red eyes, like she’d been crying. “Hi, Rin,” said Tigris. “I’m sorry to bother you, Tigris,” she said softly, “It’s just that…I was thinking about him again.”
Tigris hesitated. He didn’t want to deal with this now. He didn’t want to come home and go straight to helping his dead brother’s girlfriend deal with grief. “Rin, I’m sorry, but I just got back from my ship and…” “Please, Tigris,” Rinara begged in a soft voice. “I’m sorry,” said Tigris as he turned away from her.

Crystal walked inside her home. Her sister, April, who’d been sitting down on a chair got up and embraced Crystal. The sisters had been reunited for the first time since Crystal left the Matrix a few months ago.
“I was getting worried,” said April. “I’m alright, April,” said Crystal. April led Crystal to a chair. “Sit down. You must be tired.” Crystal didn’t refuse. “So how’s my little sister been?” she asked with a smile. “Fine. How’s the crew? I heard that Mac was injured.” “It’s not serious. He’ll be healed by the time we have to go off again. Heck, he could lose an arm and he’d still manage to get back on that ship.”
April smiled, but there was something in her eyes that made Crystal uncomfortable. “Are you okay?” Crystal asked. “It’s just…I heard another rumor,” April answered, brushing a strand of hair away, even though it didn’t seem out of place. Crystal paused. “About…about the prophecy?” Crystal asked in a hushed voice. “Yes,” said April quietly.
“I told you, April, I don’t believe in that stuff. Just ignore it,” said Crystal. “But what if it’s true? What if they do find the one?” April asked. “There is no ‘one’,” Crystal said flatly.

Dex and her twin, Maddox crept quietly into their dark home. They were making sure not to make much, if any, noise. Suddenly, the lights flicked on.
“Ha! Thought you could sneak up on me did you?” said an older woman with silver hair. Dex and Maddox looked up, grinning. “We had to try, didn‘t we?” said Maddox. “Admit it, Chavi, we almost had you,” said Dex playfully. “You never had me for a second kids. You never have and you never will,” said Chavi, her sharp eyes twinkling.
“Now get over here and give old Chavi a hug,” said Chavi, holding her arms open. Maddox and Dex dropped their bags and rushed over to give their adoptive mother a hug.
It’s an interesting story about how the twins and Chavi met. When they were very young, Dex and Maddox were freed from the Matrix. One ship freed Maddox and a different one freed Dex. The strange thing was, they were both freed at the exact same time. Anyway, the twins didn’t have anyone to care for them, so Chavi, who had heard about Dex and Maddox, offered to adopt them.
“How have things been, Chavi?” Dex asked. “Well, There have been better times, but there have also been worse times,” Chavi answered. Dex and Maddox looked at each other. They hated it when Chavi didn’t really answer their questions.

Piper softly sung a lullaby to Truth, who was sleeping peacefully on her small cot. Piper left the room quietly. She went back to the living room, where Lucas waited on the torn up, dirty couch. Piper sat down and cuddled up next to Lucas.
“Piper…” he said in a quiet voice. “Yes?” “I don’t want you going back on that ship.” Piper sat up. She looked at her husband. “We’ve been over this Lucas,” she said. “I know, but let’s go over it again,” he said. “Lucas, I’m a fighter. I’m not going to sit at home when I can do something,” Piper said firmly. “Piper, I don’t want to lose you,” Lucas said, his eyes filled with sadness. “And what about Truth? She could end up growing up with out a mother. I don’t want that to happen Piper.” He held her hand tenderly.
“There are plenty of other people willing to fight on the Capricorn. Why do you have to?” Piper pulled her hand away. “I just do,” she said. She got up and left the apartment. She was so angry. Why couldn’t Lucas except that she was willing to fight, regardless of the consequences?

Hawk was napping on a cot. He was on his back, his arms under his head, and his legs bent up. Suddenly, he was hit with a pillow. He sat up. A young woman with long blond hair was standing over him. She had a green pillow in her hand.
“What is it, Kira?” Hawk asked, followed by a yawn. “You’ve put it off long enough,” she said. “Put what off?” he asked. Kira hit Hawk with the pillow again. “Telling me about what you did when you were away,” she said. Hawk sighed. “No.” “Why?” “You interrupted my dream,” he said firmly as he pulled a pillow over his head. “You mean your fantasy,” said Kira after she hit Hawk with the pillow again.
“Hey! I get beat up enough when I’m gone, I don’t need to get beat up when I come home to relax!” said Hawk as he held up his pillow in defense. Kira threw down her pillow. “Aha! So you got hurt?” Kira asked just a little too enthusiastically. “No. Well, at least I didn’t,” said Hawk. “Who did?” Kira asked, sitting down on Hawk’s cot.
Hawk sighed. “Look, Kira, just because we’re cousins doesn’t mean I’m going to tell you about what I do when I’m away,” he said. “You are if you’re going to stay in my house with me and my husband while you’re here, Hawk,” said Kira, narrowing her eyes. Hawk smiled. Kira never let him win.

“I’m sorry, Crystal, but I just don’t believe that!” said April. “April, too many people have died already believing they’re the ‘one’. What makes this new person any different?” Crystal demanded. She had never gotten into an argument in the real world, but perhaps there’s a first time for everything…
April’s eyes glittered. “I heard he came back from the dead.” “Yeah, right,” Crystal dismissed. “It’s true!” shouted April angrily. “I don’t have time for this!” Crystal shouted as she stormed out the door. “Where are you going?” April yelled after her. “Somewhere else!” Crystal yelled back.

Mac was alone in the Capricorn. He was just leaving to get home and get some rest. His arm was in a sling, but it felt a little better than it had been.
Mac had just barely gotten out of the door when Piper came in. She looked a little embarrassed. “Piper, what are you doing here?” Mac asked. Piper bit her lip. Mac caught a glimpse of tears in her eyes.
“Sorry Mac, I was just um, you know,” Piper muttered. She decided to tell him. “Lucas tried to get me out of going out again and I guess this was the only place I thought to go…”
Then, Tigris came in. He looked at Piper and Mac, a confused look on his face.
“What are you guys doing here?” he asked. “I think the question is, what are you doing here?” Piper said. Tigris sighed. “Rinara,” he said, “This is the only place I could think of to get away from her.” Piper nodded understandably. Mac began to make his way past Piper. “Look guys, I haven’t even gotten home yet, so if you don’t mind…”
Crystal bumped into Mac as he was leaving. “Oh! Sorry Mac, I…” Crystal stared at the group in the Capricorn. “Did I miss a memo, or something?” “No. What’re you doing here, Crystal?” Mac asked. “April and I got into a fight,” Crystal said. “About what?” Tigris asked. “Beliefs,” Crystal said flatly.
There was a small beeping noise. The group looked at each other and ran to the main deck. Piper went to the controls and pressed some buttons. “Distress signal from the Orion, they need some help,” she said. “Let’s get the others and go,” said Crystal. “Guys, we aren’t going any where until the captain gets some sleep,” said Mac.

The Capricorn: Episode 4: The Aries
The Capricorn’s crew was gathered on the main deck. Mac was pacing in front of them, his thumb and finger between his eyes, pressing against the bridge of his nose.
“Let’s go over this, again Dex,” he said. Dex said, addressing the crew, “The Orion’s crew ran into some trouble. Their crew got attacked during a routine scouting. They got most of the people out, save one, who’s stuck and can’t get to the exit. The rest of the crew is injured, so they need the crew from another ship to help. We volunteered, that is to say…” she gave an annoyed look at Tigris, Piper, and Crystal. “Some of us volunteered.”
“Alright, let’s go. You guys, down load some weapons, get in, help the Orion crew member out, then leave. I want to get this done and over with,” said Mac. The others looked at him, concerned. “Your not coming?” asked Hawk. “You guys can handle yourselves, can’t you? My arm isn’t healed yet. It can’t get messed up for a while,” said Mac, though Hawk detected a hint of disappointment.
“Ok, guys. Let’s go kick some ass,” said Maddox. “Yeah, let’s do it!” Crystal. They all got it their chairs. Dex jacked them in, one at a time.

The crew, in their fighting best, appeared inside the dark concession stand. They all had various guns at their sides. Silently, they made their way out into the park. It was cloudy, with hardly any sun peaking through the gray clouds. There weren’t any children at the park. That was good, because no one felt like shooting an innocent child.
Hawk turned on the Nokia cell. “Dex, where’s the car?” “Be patient,” she replied. The black car soon drove up to the curb in front of the crew, by itself.
“That’s kind of cool,” said Crystal. They crew got in to the car, Hawk, Crystal, and Piper squeezed in the back, Maddox in the front, and Tigris at the wheel. “Ok, now can you drive us to the Orion’s crew member?” asked Hawk. “Very funny. I gave you the directions about two minutes ago. Don’t tell me you forgot them already,” said Dex.
“Easy sis, I remembered,” said Maddox from the front, “He’s stuck in a warehouse, in the west side near the docks. It’s on Harley, a large brick building, with big smoke stacks on top. Oh yeah, and there’s a S.W.A. T. team and half a dozen agents to greet us there, as well.” Hawk hung up the cell. “Dex says your showing off,” he said, grinning.

The black car slowly drew up to the brick warehouse on Harley. It looked deserted.
“What was that about a S.W.A.T. team, Maddox?” Piper asked, grinning. The others looked around. “Something’s wrong,” Maddox said.
Crystal rolled down her window and stuck her head out. “I don’t hear any guns shots or anything,” she said. “We’re too late,” said Hawk in a downcast voice. There was a moment of silence, except for the sound of the ocean, only a few yards away.
Tap! Tap! Everyone in the car turned to the driver’s side. There was another group of people, dressed in a similar style to that of the Capricorn group standing next to the car, an angry look on their faces. They were member’s of the Aries. “What are they doing here?” Piper said in a quiet, angry tone. Tigris looked the angriest out of all of them.
“Let’s get out and see what’s going on,” said Maddox as he opened his car door. The others followed, Tigris being last to exit the car.
A man with long, brown hair pulled back and a beard seemed to be the leader. At his side was a black woman with short hair cut close to her scalp. There were three others: a young man with red hair in a crew-cut, a woman with dark skin and black hair in many braids, and a man with a shaved head.
“Mathias,” greeted Hawk, his tone full of fakeness, “it’s been a while. How’s…” “Skip the pleasantries, Hawk. What in the hell are you guys doing here? This is our turf,” snapped the man with the long brown hair. “Your turf? I wasn’t aware people owned parts of the Matrix,” said Crystal.
The black woman with short hair turned to Crystal. “You know the drill. One ship takes care of one grid, another ships takes care of their grid. Why are you here?” she asked. “I think the question is, why are you here, Artemis?” asked Piper.
Artemis and Mathias exchanged looks. “We’re answering a distress call from the Orion,” answered Mathias. “We answered that call,” said Maddox. “Impossible. We conformed answering the distress call so we wouldn’t have any interference!” said Artemis.
“We never received a confirmation!” said Piper. “We sent one out, so you must have,” said Mathias. “Prove it,” said Crystal. “You can talk to our operator yourselves. That is, if you let us check with yours, to make sure you’re telling the truth,” said Mathias.
Hawk rolled his eyes. “Did you help the Orion’s member or not?” he asked Mathias. Mathias took on a look of concern. “No, we searched the entire area.”
“So you were too late…again,” said Tigris darkly, speaking for the first time since getting out of the car. Mathias looked at him, then back at the others from the Capricorn. “Our operator checked the area. There never were any agents or other people here. The crew member was never here.” The Capricorn crew exchanged looks. “That’s impossible,” said Piper. “At first we thought that the directions were incorrect, but now that you’re here…” said Artemis.
“Let me speak to your operator,” said Hawk. Mathias gave him a look. “Why?” Hawk took out his Nokia. “You can talk to ours, if you want. I want to figure out what the hell is going on.”
Mathias paused. He turned back to his other crew mates. “Sully, Jake,” he said. The man with the red hair and the woman with the braids stepped forward. “Jake, take the cell and talk to their operator. Sully, let Hawk speak to Jupiter,” Mathias directed. The woman with braids gave Hawk a Samsung, while the man with red hair took the Nokia.

A few minutes later, Jake and Hawk hung up the phones and returned them. “Ok, same story: no agents, no Orion crew member, no nothing,” said Jake. “What is going on?” said Artemis. “Let’s think: the Orion did send the signal, right? So something was obviously wrong on the Orion, right?” said Piper. She glanced at the brick building and noticed a piece of white paper falling through the air.
“Or maybe more wrong than we thought…” said Hawk slowly. “What do you mean?” asked the man with the shaved head. “I think I know, Trek,” said Mathias.
“Guys, what are you talking about?” Crystal asked. At that moment, Piper looked up at the brick warehouse again…and saw another piece of white paper fall. No, it was the same piece of paper. “Guys! They’ve changed something!” She yelled.

The Capricorn: Episode 5:
“Talk to me Dex,” said Mac as he leaned over her shoulder to see the green Matrix codes flowing down the computer screens. “We have a serious problem,” said Dex, as she looked at the computer screen closest to her.
A large concrete barrier stood, blocking off part of Harley. It hadn’t been there before. The crew from the Aries and the crew from the Capricorn were staring at it. “They’re blocking us in,” said Artemis.
Tigris heard a small noise. Beep. Beep. Beep. He looked down from where it was coming from. A small, circular shaped bomb was attached to the black car. Mathias had noticed the one on his car too. The time was 30 seconds and counting. Not enough time to download information on how to disarm them and follow through in doing so. “Guys, run!” Tigris shouted.
Without pausing, everyone made a break for the warehouse. As Crystal was running, she turned and saw the flashing lights of the police. And, as she looked closer, a blue car that she recognized. The agents were on the way too.
Then, there were two huge explosions. The bombs had gone off. Sully, Mathias, Piper, and Maddox all felt the heat behind them. Piper was even knocked to the ground by the release of energy. Mathias turned around and helped her to her feet. They didn’t stop; the kept fleeing to the warehouse.
Hawk got on the cell. “Dex! Help!” he shouted. “I got nothing! There’s no exit, they blew up your only fast transportation, and blocked any other way of leaving. I can’t help you. Try splitting up. It’s the only thing you can do,” said Dex helplessly.
“Let’s go!” shouted Jake. He’d found a door into the warehouse and kicked it open. “Did you check for agents?” Crystal asked before stepping in. “None. Jupiter checked it twice,” Jake replied.
When everyone was inside the dark, musty hall way and the door had been braced shut, Hawk said, “Okay, let’s split up.” “No way. I’m not going anywhere until you two explain what’s going on,” said Artemis, gesturing to Mathias and Hawk. They looked at each other.
“Alright,” said Mathias. “One of the Orion’s crew, Tack…he was suspected of planning to betray his ship and the rest of Zion,” said Hawk, “But, the rest of the crew, they trusted him. They stood up for him. But, I guess they were wrong.” “My best guess,” said Mathias, “Is that he killed everyone else on the ship, then decided to take down a few more ships.” “He could’ve easily blocked the Aries’ confirmation signal so more ships would come to answer the distress call.”
There was a moment of silence. “Let’s split up then,” said Hawk. “We split up into groups. Mathias and Crystal and I will be one group. Sully, Maddox, and Jake will be another group and Piper, Tigris, Artemis and…” Hawk looked at the bald man. “I didn’t catch your name.” “Chio,” the man grunted. “Cheh-what?” “Chee-oh.” said the man. “Whatever. Let’s go before they blow one of us up.”
The groups went separate ways: Hawk’s group went up a flight of stairs, Maddox’s group went down the left corridor and Piper’s group went down the right. As Hawk ascended the staircase, one thought loomed gloomily in his mind: “We are all going to die here.”

“I have to do something,” said Mac. Dex looked up at him. “What can we do?” she asked. Mac looked into the young woman’s eyes. She was crying. The closest person in her life, her twin brother was going to die and there wasn’t anything she could do. But Mac couldn’t let Maddox die…or Hawk, or Tigris, or Crystal or Piper. Not if he had anything to say about it. And, maybe the Aries’s crew, not that he owed them any favors.
“Hook me up,” he said firmly as he made his way to the last chair next to Tigris’s ‘sleeping’ body. “But Mac, your arm,” said Dex. “Forget the arm. This is life and death. Don’t worry I have an idea. They left something open and I’m gonna use it to my advantage.”

“I’ve been meaning to ask you,” said Mathias as he, Crystal, and Hawk drew their weapons, “Where’s Mac? I hope he’s not…” “He’s fine. Just a small injury. He’ll be fine,” said Hawk. “Well, at least one of us will,” said Crystal bitterly. Hawk heard a crashing sound. “Here they come…”

SWAT teams were swarming into the warehouse. Crystal was waiting patiently in the blind spot at the top of the steps. She had just put the silence on her gun as three SWAT officers ascended the steps. Pop! Pop! Pop! Three bullets. One per back of the head.
Jake was firing a machine gun at the approaching SWAT team. He took out a good many, but they were still coming. Maddox grabbed him. “I found a good hiding place, come on!” he shouted. But Jake wouldn’t budge. “Go,” he said, “Just go!” Maddox hesitated, but began leaving anyway. He ran down a dark hall trying to forget the sounds of the bullets.

Three agents stepped into the corridor that the SWAT team had just invaded. “They split up,” said one. “Find them. Destroy them,” said another. “It will be easy.” said the third. “They are…” “Only human.”

Piper, Tigris, Artemis, and Chio were at a stand off in a large room filled with wooden crates. They fired their guns while dodging the return fire from the SWAT officers. As Tigris and Chio ducked behind a crate, Tigris said to him, “We haven’t met you before. Did you…did you join after a crew member died?” Chio looked at him. “Yeah. Some dumb kid had a run in with agents. Guess Mathias wanted someone more experienced than before.”
Under the present circumstances, Tigris knew it was inappropriate to bash Chio’s head in. “That ‘dumb kid’ was my brother,” said Tigris. Chio paused to fire at the SWAT team. “Oh, my bad, dude. I’m sorry,” he said when he returned. “Yeah. You and me both,” Tigris replied.

Crystal, Hawk, and Mathias were also in a stand off. They were stuck behind a room with metal machinery. They were doing fairly well, though. It seemed Mathias had come well prepared; he had more ammo than Crystal and Hawk put together.
Just as the last SWAT officer fell, the small group realized the fight had only begun. Another fleet of SWAT officers was on the way, and an agent was right behind them. They ducked behind the machinery. Mathias swore under his breath. Crystal looked terrified.
Hawk grabbed her hand tightly and said quietly, “Crystal, if we make it out of this, will you marry me?” Crystal stared at him. “Are you nuts? We’re fighting for our lives and you decide to propose?! What, you need some extra pressure to..” She was interrupted by gunfire. “Okay fine. You don’t want to marry me, that’s fine,” said Hawk bitterly. “No, no. I want to, it’s just that…”
Mathias signaled that now was a good time to run. “Can you two continue this another time? You’re distracting me. Now move!”

Maddox and Sully were in the hiding place: a large, walk-in freezer. Maddox had just told Sully about Jake. “That…that’s the way he…he would’ve wanted to go…” she said softly. Maddox was pacing impatiently around the freezer. It wasn’t cold or anything, which was good. And there was only a small window to see out of. But, Maddox knew he and Sully couldn’t hide here forever. He looked out of the small window. The small kitchen was empty and it didn’t seem anyone was coming.
Maddox got an idea. He grabbed Sully. “Where are we going?” Sully asked as Maddox opened the heavy freezer door. “Out the back door to the beach. I don’t think any of them are there.”

Crystal, Mathias, and Hawk fled down a brick hallway and into a small room. Hawk turned and locked the door. “That won’t hold for long,” he said. Crystal gasped, “Hawk, you’re bleeding.” Hawk looked down. Oh. So that’s why he’d had trouble running. “It’s fine. Missed any arteries or bones. Pretty lucky, actually,” said Hawk. Mathias was looking out a window. “Hey…Look at this,” he said.

Artemis, Piper, Tigris, and Chio were making a break for a door at the back of the room. Tigris heard Chio yell. He turned to see Chio with blood pouring from his side. “Leave me!” he shouted. Tigris helped him anyway, lifted Chio’s arm over his shoulder. “We have to keep going,” said Tigris as bullets whizzed through the air around them.

Maddox and Sully had just reached the beach when they saw a beautiful sight: A large, white, Yamaha motorboat waiting in the blue ocean. “Thank God,” said Sully. She and Maddox raced to the boat.

Mathias broke open the window. He crouched onto the ledge and jumped the ground 50 feet below. He then got up and ran to the water. Crystal looked at Hawk. “Go!” she said. Hawk, who had a little trouble getting on the ledge because of his leg, jumped to the white sand. It took him a while, but he got up and limped to the water. The door was beginning to break down. Without looking back, Crystal jumped.
As Mathias, Hawk, and Crystal ran to the beach they saw Maddox and Sully already swimming to the large boat. “Where’s Jake?” Mathias wondered aloud. “Can you swim, Hawk?” Crystal asked. Hawk nodded, even though he was having trouble just walking.
Oracle2.0

Piper, Artemis, Tigris, and Chio made their way to the beach, Tigris helping Chio. They saw the rest of their crews swimming out to the white boat. “Let’s go,” said Piper. “Hurry, guys!” said Artemis as she took off her long jacket. Piper noticed as she took off her extra clothing that a lot of expensive clothing was just lying there on the beach. Tigris paused to take off his top clothes. “I’ll help you get to the boat,” he said to Chio. “Thank you,” said Chio.

Maddox and Sully were almost to the boat when he heard gunfire. He looked back to see three agents on the beach, guns drawn. “Don’t look back,” said Sully behind him. Maddox turned and swam up to the boat.

Mathias, Crystal, and Hawk also noticed the agents. “We are screwed,” said Hawk as he pulled himself through the saltwater. “Just keep moving,” said Crystal.

Piper was having a very big problem. She couldn’t swim. She’d entered the water because it was her only option, but now it only seemed like another choice of how to die. She began to sink into the water… Her world went black.

Inside the kitchen of the Capricorn, everyone was just hanging out, discussing their latest adventure…everyone except Piper. They had bruises on their faces, legs(especially Hawk), arms, and backs.
“Mac, that idea with the boat was genius,” said Tigris. “Hey, you drove it one handed, right?” Crystal asked. “I can see it now…” said Maddox as his did a pose with one hand out moving back and forth like it was on a wheel. Everyone laughed. “You picked up in a Yamaha, Mac?” said Tigris, grinning. “I just couldn’t stand to pull off a rescue without being in style,” said Mac, smiling.
The door opened and a silence fell over the room. Piper walked in. “Hi guys,” she said quietly. “How‘re you?” Hawk asked. “Fine,” she said with a smile, “Guess I owe you one Maddox. If you hadn’t jumped back in…” “Hey. We’re teammates. We don’t ‘owe’ each other,” Maddox replied with the wave of his hand. “Wait a minute Maddox, you ‘owe’ me some cash from a bet we made a few weeks ago,” said Tigris. Maddox grinned. “Oh, Tigris, we’re teammates. We don’t ‘owe’…” “Don’t you start pretending to be all philosophical…” said Dex. The crew continued to converse happily. They’d cheated death to fight another day.

The Capricorn: Episode 6: The Scientist
“So you see, these mathematical equations, combined with these scientific formulas, therefore proves that there are in fact other dimensions than our own,” lectured Professor Wilkins, a man in a white lab coat with short black hair and a face that looked more older and stressed than it really was, as he finished writing a long, complicated formula on the board. The college students looked bored, barely any of them were paying attention.
The bell rang. Students got up from their seats and gathered their books. Professor Wilkins sighed and sat down at his desk as he saw them leave. He knew that they didn’t believe him. In fact, as one group of boys was leaving, one of them whispered to another, “What a crock.” “I could’ve skipped class and watched a marathon of ‘The Simpsons’ and I still would’ve learned more than being Professor Wilkins’ class,” said another. The boys laughed as they left the classroom.
As the boys left, a man in a suit walked past them and into the classroom. Professor Wilkins gritted his teeth as Mr. Rockefeller, the university’s vice president, walked down the steps to Professor Wilkins’s desk in the center of the sort of arena of desks. “Hi, Greg,” said Mr. Rockefeller. “Hello, Mr. Rockefeller. What can I do for you, this afternoon?” Professor Wilkins asked with phony pleasantry.
“I want you to start teaching an actual class. Not a lecture of theories.” Professor Wilkins stood. “But that’s what this class is all about, sir!” he protested. “Look, Wilkins, it’s not just that. It’s this new theory you’ve worked up. Some of the other professors came to me about it and…and frankly, they’re a little worried about you.”
Professor Wilkins rolled his eyes. “Do you want to see my work?” he asked. “If you don’t mind…” said Mr. Rockefeller. Professor Wilkins opened a drawer and pulled out a thick vanilla folder. He handed it to Mr. Rockefeller. Mr. Rockefeller flipped through it. He then angrily close it and thrust it at Professor Wilkins with a firm, “Have you lost it, Wilkins?”
Wilkins took back the folder. “Sir, I know the idea is rather unorthodox, but I think I’ve found some real evidence.” “Really? Explain this, because from what I saw it was all rubbish.” Wilkins opened the folder again. He pulled out a document. “Well, here’s one: according to this, authorities have been trying to track down certain hackers. The only problem is, that when online, the hackers never commit any crimes. Why would authorities be searching for hackers who don’t do anything?” Mr. Rockefeller looked unconvinced.
Wilkins pulled out another document. “And here’s another interesting feature: The cities where the hackers are traced to, whenever the hackers are active there, there’s a sudden spike in the number of missing people. However, they can’t have been killed because their bodies are never found.
“And these accounts of police officers that have chased these hackers, it’s incredible. One of these accounts claims that a woman jumped from one building roof to another, which was 20 feet away. Sir, that’s an impossible feat. There are many others with similar, impossible actions that these hackers can somehow accomplish.”
“So what exactly does this ‘prove’ Wilkins?” Rockefeller asked impatiently. “Sir, I believe these hackers are in fact beings from another dimension that have traveled here to bring others to their dimension-but I don’t believe by force, sir. I have a feeling that their dimension is a somewhat better place than our dimension and they are simply giving us the option to travel and explore their dimension while they explore ours. I also believe, quite frankly, that the government is trying to cover it up. You know…like Roswell…or something.”
Rockefeller looked very unimpressed. “Wilkins, this is the real world, not the ‘X-Files’,” he handed Wilkins a large textbook on the theories of other dimensions. “It may be your class, but you’re gone if the university disagrees. Memorize this book and slowly lecture it to the class for the rest of the semester. We’ll talk again after that. See you, Wilkins.” Rockefeller promptly left.
Wilkins threw the book to the ground. He hated being looked upon as someone with a mental problem. He didn’t know why he believed his theory. Actually, he was having trouble sticking with it. As a scientist, he had been trained to not guess, but to read facts and make conclusions. This theory of his was breaking everything he’d been taught. So why did he hold on so tightly to it? Why?
He sighed and moved his mouse on his computer so that it would snap out of ‘sleep’ mode. He entered into his usual chatroom, ‘I Believe’ chat. It reminded him of Rockefeller’s snide comment about the ‘X-Files’. Wilkins had to smile because a few years ago, he’d been hooked on that show.
Wilkins went back to the computer consol. He noticed that only one other person was in the chat, “Capricorn7”.
Capricorn7: Hello
E=mc2: Hi. I haven’t noticed you before.
Capricorn7: Well, we’ve noticed you.
E=mc2: Really?
Capricorn7: yes, Professor.
Wilkins smiled to himself. It was probably a student playing a prank, or a fellow teacher, or maybe he’d mentioned he was a professor once or twice in the chat.
Capricorn7: you’re in danger Professor
E=mc2: I think I can handle myself. How could I be in danger?
Capricorn7: They know, Professor. We know, too.
Wilkins felt a chill go down his spine. This couldn’t be real, could it? No. It was a joke, a prank.
Capricorn: No, it’s not a prank, Professor. It’s real. More real than you can imagine.
E=mc2: How can I trust you?
Capricron7: You can’t.
E=mc2: Who are ‘they’?
Capricorn: Danger. You must hurry professor. Take the nearest fire-exit to the bookshop across the street from campus. You will be contacted there. Run professor….
Wilkins made up his mind. He ran to the hall and, pushing students out of his way, got to the fire escape and opened it. The alarm sounded and people began filing out of classes. Out of the corner of his eye, Wilkins saw men in suits, who didn’t look very friendly.
Wilkins dashed to the street, ran through traffic, and into the bookstore. It was empty except for the many wooden bookcases. Wilkins stepped on something. It was a book. It read ‘Hansel and Gretal’. When he looked up he saw other books making a trail. “Clever” Wilkins thought to himself. He followed the books to a back door. He opened it.
Outside there was a parking lot. Right in front of the back door was a black car. A woman with short, black hair and tan skin, wearing a black leather jacket, a red shirt, sunglasses, black pants and black shoes was waiting by the car door.
“Hello, Professor,” she said smoothly. “Um…hi…” he said slowly. He was busy admiring the woman’s jacket. “You are in danger, Professor, as we told you. You must come with us,” Crystal said. She opened the door for him. Wilkins got in. Inside there was a young Asian man in a black shirt and black pants. The driver was a black man in similar clothing.
The Asian man pulled out a needle filled with a green substance. “What the…” Wilkins was cut off as Maddox injected him with the needle, which rendered him unconscious. “We got to him just in time. They didn’t even get a chance to bug him yet,” said Maddox. Crystal looked in the rearview mirror. “Tigris, step on it…” she said.

The Scientist(continued)
Hawk, Piper, and Mac were waiting in the concession stand. Hawk was hanging up his Nokia. “They’re on the way, but they’ll be delayed. The police helicopter is going to be hard to ditch,” he said. Mac nodded. Piper was looking uncomfortable.
“I can’t believe I agreed to this,” she said. Mac looked at her. “Piper,” he said quietly, “There is a possibility that he’ll make it.” “He’s too old!” said Piper firmly. “You know he’s too old! I don’t see why we got involved!” “Because if we don’t, than he’ll be killed,” said Hawk without looking up.
Piper didn’t say anything else. She just held her arms. She knew that Professor Wilkins, if he chose the red pill, would go insane after he learned the truth. He was over thirty. For a potential, that was pretty old.

Meanwhile, the black car pulled up to the park. Maddox looked at Professor Wilkins as he began to stir. “Let’s get the others and go,” said Maddox, “I have a bad feeling that if we don’t get going soon…” “Relax. It won’t take two minutes,” said Crystal as she got out and went to the concession stand.
A little boy, about 9 or 10, watched from his swing as Crystal went into the concession stand. He thought that was strange, since he’d been told the stand was closed. He thought it was really strange when more people cam out with Crystal.
Then, the little boy began to change…
Hawk didn’t need to turn around. There was just a feeling in the air that told him that danger was near. “Run!” he shouted. Without needing anymore information, Crystal, Mac, Hawk, and Piper made a dash to the black car.
The agent aimed his Desert Eagle and fired. The bullet hit the car door and nothing else, but it came close to hitting Crystal as she squeezed into the front with Hawk.
Everyone was uncomfortable as Tigris hit the gas. Three people squeezed in the front and four people crushed in the back, including a dazed Professor Wilkins. “What the…?”
“Professor Wilkins, we’ll explain this later. Right now, just stay quiet and don’t move or we’ll have to shoot you,” said Hawk from the front.

P.S.
I'll be out until Wednesday guys, I'm going to Niagra falls for a few days. So, 'The Capricorn' isn't going to have any new episodes for a while. Cya!

The Scientist Continued
As people in the black car were further crushed as Tigris took a sharp turn, Crystal said from the front, “Maddox, why the hell is Wilkins awake?” “I told you guys that it was an experimental chemical! How was I to know it’d only work for 20 minutes?” Maddox retorted. “Stop arguing! We’re in a bad position enough without bickering with each other!” said Mac.
He was right; seven people squashed together in a car in the middle of summer (well, artificial summer, but it was hot, just the same) while being chased by agents was a fairly bad situation. “Ow. Crystal, can you move? I can’t reach my cell…” said Hawk. After Crystal had moved over a little, Hawk got on the phone. “Dex? A little help?”
In the Capricorn, Dex was speaking into her headset, “Yeah, yeah, I know. Hang on…” She smiled as she typed something.
The black car with the Capricorn’s crew and Professor Wilkins sped down a street with a blue Ford right behind them with an agent inside. Just as they reached an intersection, a red car from out of nowhere slammed into the Ford.
“Take that!” Hawk heard Dex say on the cell. Hawk smiled.
Professor Wilkins, whom had been silent for a fairly long time, finally spoke in a voice combined of excitement and fear, “Oh my god, you’re them, aren’t you? You’re the beings from the other dimension! My theory was correct after all!” Mac smirked. “Well, not quite, Professor…but it was close enough. We’re going to attempt to save you from…well, from certain people who would rather that you had chosen a different field of science.”
“Are you taking me to your dimension?” Professor Wilkins asked. “You’ll see, Professor. You’ll see…”

The black car came to a halt at an old, abandoned house. “This it, Dex?” Hawk asked. “Yep. Not the Ritz, but it’s got the equipment,” Dex replied.
The house was gray and looked like it was from the Victorian age. It had three floors; a large front porch that looked like it could collapse at any second, and cobwebs galore.
Relieved, everyone got out of the car. “Finally, some air space,” said Piper. Professor Wilkins was soon ushered into the middle of the group; Mac and Tigris in front of him, Piper and Maddox at his sides, and Hawk and Crystal behind him.
As they walked toward the house, Piper said to Hawk, “Please don’t tell me the stuff’s in the basement.” “Don’t worry Piper,” said Hawk in an assuring tone, “It’s in the attic.” Piper turned to give him a stern look. “That had better be a joke…” “Am I laughing?” Piper gave a shiver, but kept walking.
Inside the house, it was just as bad as you’d expect it to be: spider webs everywhere, floors mostly eaten through by God knows what, a bad smell that you can’t quite place but at the same time you’d rather not, and a grand staircase that you have expect some ancient spirit to glide down.
Slowly, the group made their way to the third floor. As they walked, they were interrupted a few times by someone’s foot falling through and getting stuck. Finally, the walked up a narrow flight of stairs and reached the attic. In the attic, there was a strange sight. While the house and everything else in it was old and falling apart, the attic held what looked like fairly new machinery that Wilkins couldn’t recognize. Also, there were several new chairs and a couch. The front of the group parted, leaving a path for Wilkins. “Have a seat wherever you wish, professor,” said Mac.
Wilkins hesitated, but chose a red chair near the center of the room. As if that were a signal, the others all went to sit down at other places; Crystal, Hawk, and Maddox sat on the couch, Pipr and Tigris each chose chairs closest to the couch. Mac chose the other red chair across from Wilkins, who looked nervous and excited.
"Professor, " said Mac. "I'm going to be frank with you. You're theory, though on the right track, was incorrect. To our knowledge, there is no other dimension. We are not beings from another dimension. We are, however, beings from a different world." "Uh, aliens?" said Wilkins throwing out a guess. Mac let out a laugh. "No, Professor. I can't really explain this other world to you. It would be hard for you to grasp the description. I must warn you, this other world is in some ways hell and in others heaven. I suppose it has more traits shared with hell, but it's most important trait is one shared with heaven." Mac pulled out a silver case and opened it. He showed the blue pill and red pill to Wilkins. "I am giving you a choice, Professor. You can either take the red pill and leave this world and come to ours, permentantly. Or, you can take the blue pill and wake up in your own bed, not remember any of the events in the past hour and a half." Wilkins hesitated, but then reached out his hand... Breep! Breep! Breep! there was a sudden interuption of Hawk's cell.

Now THIS is original...I'll have to say this is the best Pill scene I've ever seen all over this section! Frankly I don't see much good ones even in the highly regarded stories...I son't feature it in mine because I fear I can't do it...but you did nicely. nice twist at the back too! You seem to have twisted the story with a more story-teller's point of view...it's your choice. and thanks for giving me the Morpheus role-that's deja vu for me lol!
Oracle2.0

once again mac, thanx for the compliment. I'm glad you like your character! Now then, the conclusion of the scientist...
Everyone’s eyes turned to Hawk who picked up the cell. Before Hawk could say anything, Dex’s voice came over urgently, “Get outta there! Agents are one the way!” “What about Wilkins?” hawk asked. “There’s no time! You’ve got to…” The line went dead. Hawk swore out loud.
“We’ve got company,” said hawk to the others. Mac opened his mouth to speak, but there was a sudden crash from down stairs.
On the first floor, three agents stood amid the dust from the broken down door. They looked up the grand staircase, drew their Desert Eagles, and rushed up the steps.
Meanwhile in the attic, the crew came up with a solution. There were fairly large windows in the attic, just large enough for a person to fit through. Everyone began leaping out, landing on the ground outside, and sprinting to the nearby woods. Eventually, only Wilkins and Maddox were left. By the sounds coming from the second floor, the agents were about to enter.
Wilkins was scared stiff. Maddox was desperately trying to get him to jump. “You’ll be fine! It’s either this or death, Wilkins!” Finally, just as the agents were making their way up to the attic, Maddox grabbed Wilkins’s coat and leapt out of he window.
Unfortunately, the coat tore, leaving Wilkins trapped and Maddox with fabric. The terrified Wilkins stared in horror as the three agents entered the room. Without a word, one of the agents shot Wilkins in the stomach. The force sent Wilkins out the window.
Then, something amazing happened. As Wilkins plummeted toward to earth, time slowed. The ground began to disappear along with the pain from the gunshot wound. Everything was peach colored ooze. Wilkins was shocked to find himself in a sort of pod with wires and cables connected to him.
Wilkins looked around and saw hundreds, thousands of other pods with sleeping humans.
Then, there was a bright flash and he was once again falling closer and closer to his death…
Crystal turned away and buried her face in Hawk’s chest. Hawk had also looked away. Only Mac watched the entire fall. When he was sure it was over, Hawk looked up and asked, “I…I felt something. Did he…?” “No,” Mac answered gravely, “But he saw it. I could see it in his eyes…”
Maddox was in the shadow of a tree, sitting down, his head in his hands. It was his fault. He should’ve grabbed Wilkins more firmly. He was sick with himself.
Tigris noticed Maddox and went to comfort him.
Piper stood alone, next to a tree stump and a newly growing oak. She was silently crying. She quietly whispered, “Perhaps this was the only solution…”

Coming soon: The Leap Of Faith

I'm going to be busy writing up Leap Of Faith for a little while, but because I was late giving an episode when I came back, I'll give you guys a taste of the possible trilogy to be on the way:
Seth was running. He was running harder than he had ever run in his entire life. it was very bright out. Sun glinted on the bullets that whizzed all around Seth, but he didn't stop running on the flat roof top. A ledge was coming, but Seth never slowed his pace. The Capricorn: Episode 7: Leap Of Faith: Part One Of A Trilogy
Seth was running. He was running harder than he had ever run in his entire life. it was very bright out. Sun glinted on the bullets that whizzed all around Seth, but he didn't stop running on the flat roof top. A ledge was coming, but Seth never slowed his pace. He just seemed to be running faster and faster until he pushed off the ground when he reached the ledge. The other rooftop of a ghetto apartment building was rushing up to meet him. Seth felt like he was flying. Then, everything went like a strobe light of a projector film, going from the scene to dark, back and forth faster and faster until it was completely dark.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Seth slammed his hand down on the sleep button of his digital alarm clock. Time for school. Blech. Seth ran his fingers through his long, brown hair. He’d had the dream again. He’d been having it for almost a year now. He thought it was a weird dream, and he thought it was annoying how he’d been having it for so long, yet he’d never found out if he made it to the other rooftop, or went ‘splat!’ on the ground below. In real life, sure, he’d go ‘splat!’ but in a dream, all options, possible or not, were open.
Seth threw off his blankets and got out of bed. He put on some old jeans and a black t-shirt. He put a silver ring in his left ear’s piercing. He put on some sneakers and dirty socks. Seth grabbed a faded, green, plaid, button up jacket and put it on. His eyes fell on the blank math homework on his desk. He sighed. He opened his black backpack and shoved the unfinished homework in, then zipped the backpack up and slung it over his shoulder. Now he was ready to go to school, defy authority, etc.
He went down stairs to the small, empty kitchen. He toasted a poptart and ate it on his way out the door.
Outside, Seth unlocked his bike from the railing of the front steps of his porch.
As he put the bike lock in his backpack, an unnoticed woman with long, red hair in a white trench coat watched silently from across the street. As Seth rode off, Piper pulled out a cell phone. “He’s on the way. Everything following schedule.”
As Seth rode, he looked around at the urban neighborhood. He was getting the feeling again, the feeling that something was amiss. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t shake that feeling. He’d been getting it for as long as he could remember.
As Seth rode up to the yellowish brick school building, he caught a glimpse of a man with blond hair in black pants and jacket with a blue shirt and sunglasses talking on a cell phone.
The Seth’s eyes fell on a group of teens passing around a joint. Morons. Seth didn’t do drugs. He was smarter than that, though at times it seemed as though he wasn’t.
Seth parked his bike and locked it in the bike rack. The bell rang and the teenagers dragged themselves inside.
Seth slammed his locker shut and slummed to first period.
Mr. Macclebee turned back the tests from last week. Seth barely glanced at his before beginning to crumple it. Big surprise, I aced it. Huh? Wait a minute… Seth uncrumpled what he could and stared at the document. This was his paper, right? Yes…his name was at the top in the same lazy handwriting as his own. But…how could Seth get 100%? Seth never got good grades. Seth shook his head in disbelief.
Ron Green, the kid behind Seth leaned over and in response to seeing the grade, said in a sleazy tone, “Who’d you by the answers from, Morris?” Seth moved his hand back, smacking Ron in the face with his palm. “Ow!”
Then, an unfamiliar female voice came over the speaker: “Will Seth Morris please report to the vice principal’s office, please?” A sound of combined mocking and pleasure came from Seth’s classmates.
Seth figured he was being called down because there was an error in his test grade. How else could he have gotten such a test score? Beside, he hadn’t done anything wrong…that is to say, recently. He got up and walked out into the hall towards Ms. Johnson’s office.
As Seth walked down the hall, he realized something. Ms. Johnson always came in around 10:00, never earlier. It was about 8:35 when Seth was called down to her office. Now Seth had his guard on. But hey, it’s getting me out of class…
Seth reached the vice principal’s office and slowly turned the doorknob. He was having second thoughts; he was really considering just turning around and going back to class. But, then he thought, “Come on, what’s the worst that could happen?” He opened the door and stepped inside.
Inside, there was a chair in front of a large desk. Behind the desk was a large, black leather chair turned away from the door. “Who are you?” Seth asked the large chair. The chair turned around revealing a young, tan woman in a leather jacket with a red shirt underneath and sunglasses. Seth almost hade to wipe the drool from his mouth.
“Hello, Seth, “ said Crystal. “Why did I just step into a fantasy?” Seth asked. “Oh this is no fantasy, Seth. And, I’m sorry, but you’re just too young for me,” Crystal replied. Seth’s face fell a little. “Ok, well why are you here?” he asked. “Have a seat,” Crystal said, gesturing to the chair in front of the desk.
When Seth had sat down, Crystal slid her sunglasses down the bridge of her nose, so that her eyes shone over her sunglasses at Seth. “You’re very special, Seth.” “Ok, now you sound like my guidance counselor,” Seth sneered. Crystal’s eyes showed a glint of temper, but she took a deep breath and said very calmly and quietly, “Do you ever feel like…like there’s something wrong with the world? Something that you can feel in the air? You can almost taste it, but you can’t quite name the flavor?”
Seth stared. “No way…” he whispered, “How could you possibly…” “I used to feel the same way. I became obsessed with trying to figure out why I felt that way. Finally I learned the truth about why I got that feeling. Now, Seth, I’m giving you a chance to find the truth about why you get that feeling. It will change your life forever.” Crystal stood up and looked deep into Seth’s eyes. “Are you willing to know the truth Seth?”
Seth paused. This woman was both making sense and sounding crazy at the same time. Maybe she was part of a cult. On the other hand, Seth was dying to know why he had always felt like there was something wrong happening. So, Seth just said, “Ok.”
Crystal smiled. “Alright. We’re going to meet some people that will help. Hawk, Piper…” The door opened behind Seth, revealing Hawk and Piper, waiting. “What the…?” said Seth, staring. “Having second thoughts?” Hawk asked seriously. “No,” Seth answered quickly. “Then follow us,” said Piper as she turned and left; she was followed by Hawk, then Seth, then Crystal, who closed the door behind them.
AS the group had just reached the doors, the janitor looked up from his mopping and called out, “Hey! Where do you think….” The janitor began to change…
Seth stared in horror, but Hawk was able to yank him outside and running before the agent fully emerged. As they ran, Hawk said to Seth, “Never look back and don’t stop running until we tell you kid!”
They ran down a street where there was a house that was on fire. The fire had spread to the tree near by, and just when Crystal and Piper, who were leading the group, passed it, it crashed to the ground, taking a few power lines with it.
Hawk pulled Seth back just in time. Now the group was separated by the burning tree and power lines. Hawk shouted over the roar of the flames and fire hoses, “We’ll be fine! Just go!” Without waiting for their response, Hawk pulled Seth away and soon they were running down the street, the agent hot on their tail. The agent was, of course, soon joined by two other agents.
Seth was having trouble keeping up with Hawk, but he managed.
Soon, they came to a really run down street, just filled with abandoned buildings. Suddenly, the agents came to a halt and began firing their Desert Eagles straight at Hawk and Seth.
In the gunfire, Seth and Hawk ran in two different directions: Hawk running to the left towards an old garage; Seth running to the right towards an old, three-story office building. Hawk thought this was good, at least for Seth, because he assumed the agents would chase him, rather than the teen. Unfortunately, he was very mistaken.
For whatever reason, as soon as the two separated, the agents went after Seth.
Seth was looking around for a place to hide inside of the empty building. He jumped at the sound of the door opening. He sprinted to a metal staircase and dashed up the steps. As soon as the agents had entered the room, the said to one another, “There is no escape.” “This will be easy.” Then, they ran up the stairs after Seth.
Hawk, meanwhile, was outside on the street, looking around. He hadn’t seen which building Seth had ran into. Hawk was ticked at himself. He had just abandoned the boy to be killed. There was no possible way Seth would-

But then Hawk saw him. He was on the roof of the old office building.
Seth looked around, desperate for a fire escape, a rope, anything. He could here the agents right behind him. Then Seth did a double-take. Wait…I’ve been here before… This was the rooftop from his dream. Seth looked around. Then it dawned on him what he had to do.
Hawk was watching from the ground, trying to figure out what to do. Then Seth did something that made Hawk’s heart stop. Seth began to run straight for the ledge in front of him. The agents had made it to the roof and were shooting at him.
Hawk took out his own weapon and fired at the agents while he shouted desperately, “Seth! Seth! Don’t do it! Seth!” But either Seth couldn’t hear him or was ignoring him. As soon as Seth got to the edge, he pushed off the ground and was soon flying through the air.
“Oh my god…” said Hawk quietly, staring at Seth.

The Capricorn: Episode 9: A Stolen Destiny?
An argument was taking place on the main deck. Several people didn’t believe that the message that had been received recently was from the Oracle. They believed it was a trap, just as Dex had feared.
“I will not just walk into a trap! Especially when we’re being invited in to one!” Crystal shouted. “But this could be the only way…” Hawk began as he sat in a chair. “Look, Hawk,” said Maddox, “I was all for agreeing that Seth was special. Hell, I even went along with finding some old psychic or whatever. But be reasonable. This is just plain crazy!”
Hawk sighed and bowed his head in defeat, but still said, “Then I’ll go by myself.” This statement was met by protest by the others. Tigris was able to get to talk while the others stayed silent. “Hawk, no. Did you ever hear of Jenny Holzer?” Hawk shook his head. “She was great. She was a sort of poet. She carved her poems in stone benches.” Hawk looked up. “Is there a point to this story?” “In one of her poems, Holzer wrote ‘It is embarrassing to be caught and killed for stupid reasons’”
Hawk stood up. “It’s not for a stupid reason,” he said. He gave his crewmates a final glance, then left the room. Outside, Seth and Mac were waiting. “Can’t you do something?” Hawk asked Mac. Mac shook his head. “Normally, of course. But, normally it wouldn’t be a mission based on their personal beliefs.” Hawk looked at Seth, who stared right back at him. “Do you want to do this?” Hawk asked him. Seth nodded. “Are you sure?” Hawk asked. Seth nodded again. Hawk looked from Seth to Mac. “I guess that covers it. I’m going in and I’m taking Seth. Tell the others that anyone who wants to help is more than welcome.”
“Ready to go?” Hawk asked Seth a few minutes later. “Yeah,” said Seth, although he didn’t look it. Hawk and Seth looked up as the others gathered into the input room. They all looked sober. Everyone was there, save Mac, who had to temporarily pilot the ship. “Last chance to come with us,” said Hawk. Silence. “Well, don’t everybody volunteer at once,” Hawk said dryly.
“I’ll go,” said a voice. Crystal stepped forward. Hawk raised his eyes in surprise. “But I’m going to protect Seth. That’s it,” she said as she walked by, knocking Hawk’s shoulder. “That’s close enough. Jack us in, Dex,” said Hawk as he, Seth, and Crystal sat down in the chairs.
As Dex took her place at the consol, Tigris, Maddox, and Piper went to plug Crystal, hawk, and Seth in; Tigris plugged Hawk in with a “Good luck!” Piper plugged Seth in with a “Be careful.” And Maddox plugged Crystal in with a quiet, “Do me a favor, make sure Hawk doesn’t get himself killed.”
Hawk opened his eyes to find himself in the white abyss of the loading program. He was in his usual black pants and jacket, with sunglasses and a blue shirt. He saw Crystal nearby in her black and red style. Then, his eyes fell on Seth, in his jeans, black shirt, green plaid jacket, long brown hair, and a silver ring in his left ear. “What?” Seth asked in response to Hawk’s stare. “Uh, nothing. Hey Dex, send us some weapons, huh?”
In response, shelves began whistling by the small group, faster and faster until finally they stopped, revealing rows upon rows of guns. Crystal and Hawk began to suit up. Seth reached for a weapon, but Hawk grabbed his arm. “Better leave the blood shed to us,” he said. Seth rolled his eyes, but put his hands in his pockets.
“Ready?” Crystal asked. Hawk nodded. “Alright. Let’s do it!” said Crystal. Suddenly, the loading program disappeared and the dark interior of the concession stand appeared. It was a risky entry; the hard line had been abandoned for a while because an agent had spotted the crew leaving and had proceeded to chase them. Crystal drew an Uzi from her belt and held it ready incase of trouble.
Hawk’s eyes adjusted to the darkness. His heart stopped. He counted not two other people in the room with him, but three. He instinctively pulled Seth behind him and drew his weapon. Crystal noticed the other figure too, aimed her weapon, and loaded it.
The figure was an Asian man in a white Chinese jacket with round sunglasses. He spoke with a calm voice, despite the obvious threat, “It’s alright. My name is Seraph. I’m a friend of the Oracle. Please put down your weapons, or I will be forced to harm you.” Hawk lowered his gun and put it away, but Crystal only lowered hers.
“What does the oracle want?” Hawk asked. “That is for her to say, not I,” said Seraph, “However, I will say this: she wishes to speak to Seth first, alone. Then she wishes to have a word with Hawk.” “We’re not leaving Seth,” said Crystal in a quiet, dangerous voice as she gripped her gun more tightly. “Don’t worry. He’ll be fine. Please, the oracle requests complete trust,” he replied. “Yeah? Well you can tell the oracle_” “It’s fine,” said Hawk.
Crystal stared at Hawk. “Hawk, we can’t_” “He’ll be fine,” said Hawk. He turned to Seth. “Go ahead. We’ll be right here.” Seth hesitated, but stepped forward and followed Seraph out the door to the outside playground while hawk and Crystal were left in the dark.
Seth blinked as he came into the bright outside. He looked around at the park outside. He felt a chill go up his spine. He’d played here as a kid. It was strange to see it, knowing what he knew now, about how he’d never really gone high up in the air on the swings, about how he’d never really slid down the slide, how he’d never really skinned his knee on the jungle gym.
His eyes fell on a woman in a woolen brown coat with dark skin and short, frizzy, gray hair. She looked like someone’s elderly aunt or something. He looked around wondering where the Oracle was. “I’m right here,” said the woman in a kind voice with a hint of sharpness, “Your mother always said not to judge a book by its cover Seth. You should’ve listened to her when you could, considering your current situation.” Seth stared. “Come and sit for a while,” she said, patting the spot next to her. Seth silently obeyed. He was in shock.
When Seth sat down, the Oracle asked, “So, how do you like being in the real world?” “It’s okay, I guess,” Seth shrugged. “But?” “Well, you tell me,” said Seth. The Oracle shook her head. “Same old Seth. You don’t like to talk and you don’t like to listen. It’s a miracle you even paid attention to that dream of yours.” “Geez, you even know about that?” Seth asked. “Well, I am the oracle after all,” the oracle answered with a smile.
Seth remembered something. “Hey, um, speaking of miracles, can you…can you tell me how I jumped about 30 feet before I was free? I mean, the others, on the ship, they’re always arguing about how I did it. Some of ‘em say it was impossible for me to have done it… But, I did. How could I do that? I’m not special or anything, or at least I don’t think I am…” The oracle smiled, but she had a sad look in her eyes.
Oracle2.0

Meanwhile, inside the concession stand… “In about ten seconds, if Seth isn’t back…” said Crystal as she impatiently paced the room. “Crystal, will you please calm down?” Hawk asked as he stood still, waiting. “Calm down? Don’t you tell me to calm down! How could you let this happen, Hawk?” “You make it sound like you know something bad has happened, when in fact you don’t know anything, yet,” said Hawk calmly.
Crystal opened her mouth to speak, but the door opened, revealing Seraph and Seth. Seth looked downcast. “Seth? What’s wrong?” Hawk asked. Seth only shook his head. “What did the oracle tell you?” Crystal asked suspiciously. Seth shook his head again. Crystal rounded on Seraph. “What did that_” “The oracle wishes to speak to Hawk,” Seraph interrupted, “You and Seth may leave if you wish.” The phone rang. Crystal looked from the phone, to Seth, to Hawk. “I’ll be fine,” said Hawk, “Take Seth back.”
Without waiting for Crystal’s reaction, Hawk followed Seraph outside. It was the same park he’d been exiting and entering for a very long time now. He saw the woman, whom he assumed was the oracle, since no one else was there. He walked over to her. “I’m not going to ask you to sit, since I know you’re only going to stand,” she said, looking up at him.
“Why did you want to speak to me?” Hawk asked. “Because, you and Seth carry a common trait. Strange that you two would end up meeting,” said the oracle. “What trait would that be?” Hawk asked. “Normally, I would have no reason to tell you this, but I feel that sometimes it is best for people to know future events that…that will be fulfilled in a different way.” “I didn’t ask why you were telling me about whatever this is, I asked what you were telling me,” Hawk said, in a tone that was rather unlike him.
The oracle only continued, “Hawk, you had more than one potential future. You, along with Seth and a few other people had two futures.” “How is that possible?” Hawk asked. “It’s hard to understand, I know. But another has already taken one of your destinies. Like a fork in the road, you took left, this person took right. But, this has certain…side effects. Not so much on you. On Seth, who is younger and is more like the person who took the right road, it’s different.”
“Who is this person? Who took the other future?” Hawk asked. “That, I’m afraid, is more of an oracle-client privilege,” the oracle said with a smile, “But you already know anyway, don’t you?” Hawk nodded. “It makes sense, sort of.” “That’s the way it usually is,” said the oracle. Seraph suddenly appeared at the Oracle’s side. The Oracle looked at him, nodded, then turned to Hawk and said, “Well, I’ve got to go now. And don’t worry about what I’ve said, and tell Seth not to worry too. You both still have wonderful lives to look forward to. Or bad ones, but that’s the way it works out, doesn’t it?” Hawk smiled and nodded.
When he was back on the Capricorn, the others wanted to know what had happened, but Hawk and Seth silently agreed that the oracle’s words were for their ears, and their ears only. Hawk was able to talk to Seth later, alone in Hawk’s cabin.
“It’s just…weird, you know? I keep wondering who she was talking about, and how my life would’ve changed if I was that person, it just feels like someone stole my future, you know?” Seth was saying. Hawk waved the matter aside with his hand. “Hey, I never believed in fate and all that anyway. Forget about it and go on with your life.” Seth nodded. “So…about that one-on-one…”
sorry guys, I didn’t have time to have Seraph fight or anything. Again, not my best work. till next time…

I like it O2, dun worry about the lack of Seraph's big scene!...ya tied in nicely with the Matrix canon as we know it...I take it this is in parallel with M2? And Seth's Alter-ego is Neo? I'm still trying to figure out the easter eggs you planted in this one though......
Oracle2.0

yes, the easter egg in this isn't very easy to find. :D The Jenny Holzer quote is sort of the only easter egg there. Here's the full poem I found on a bench the the Buffalo, New York art gallery:
Use What Is Dominant In A Culture To Change It Quickly
You Are Caught Thinking About Killing Anyone You Want
It Is In Your Self Interest To Find A Way To bE Very Tender
If You Are Considered Useless, No One Will Feed You Anymore
It Is Embarrassing To Be Caught And Kiled For Stupid Reasons
You Are Trapped On Earth So You Will Explode
The Future Is Stupid
Go Where People Sleep And See If They Are Safe
It Is Fun To Walk Carelessly In A Death Zone
Turn Soft And Lovely Anytime You Have A Chance
Men Do Not Protect You Anymore
Savor Kindness Because Cruelty Is Always Possible Later
Protect Me From What I Want
The Beginning Of The War Will Be Secret
Let Your hand Wonder On Flesh To Make Possibility Multiply
People Look Like They Are Dancing Before They Fall In Love
You Are So Complex That You Do Not Respond To Danger
In A Dream, You Saw A Way To Survive And Were Filled With Joy
i won't say exactly what the significance of this is, but read it a few times.
MacLeod

It's beautiful...in a very cynical way. Very nicely put. I like the part about dancing before falling in love-people'll get so clumsy after they do!! And about the war and the dream...matrix revelations? Hmmm!...

Yeah I really liked it too O2! So, Seth and Hawk have kind of taken each others futures? Hmmmmm.....very interesting. Really looking forward to the next bit :D

okay guys, let me explain my conclusion to the trilogy: You know how there were potientials to be the one in the oracle's apartment? Seth and Hawk were potientials. They had two paths to take: the path of the one's or the one they are currently on. confsuing, yeah, but like I said, not my best work :D

The Capricorn: Episode 10: Savoring Kindness
Dex packed the last of her things in her bag, jamming them inside so they’d fit. She started out the door of her cabin when Tigris popped in from out of nowhere, startling her. “Oh!” said Dex in surprise. “Dex, what’s taking you so long? I’ve got lock up the ship, let’s go!” Tigris scolded. “I know, I know, I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s come over me lately. Maybe…maybe it’s because I’m so worried about Seth. He’s a good kid. Heck, they’re all good kids. I just wish we had something more to offer them.” Tigris lifted her chin tenderly and said, “Hey, now. We’re offering them freedom. What could be better then that?” Dex smiled, then followed Tigris out.

Mac, his bag slung over his shoulder, began climbing the metal stars that led to the housing district of Zion.
But, before he’d gone three steps, he was distracted by a commotion down by the docking bay. A fight had broken out between two men, a dark skinned man with short black hair, and a man with short brown hair. Mac had seen such fights before; sometimes the stress just gets to you, you know? Other people were trying to break up the fight, but the two men were really going for each other.
Finally, a woman with long, black hair stood between the two men. She began yelling at them with such a tone that caused everyone to stand still, “ENOUGH! You call yourselves warriors of Zion? Now knock it off!” She paused to glare around the crowd, silently daring someone to speak, then continued, “How dare you two waste time in petty arguments while others die in this war!”
She seemed to calm down a little. She turned to the man with brown hair and said in a quieter, but still dangerous tone, “Ranger, consider yourself on probation. All of your privileges are revoked. I expect to see you on the ship bright and early tomorrow to clean the ship entirely.” Ranger turned and left, looking defeated, but not daring to argue. The woman turned to the black man. “Hitman, I saw Ranger start the fight. I saw him throw the first three punches. I’m giving you a second chance. Don’t make me regret it.” Hitman nodded respectfully, then left.
Soon, the crowd departed, leaving the woman by herself. “I missed you last dock,” said Mac from behind her. The woman turned, at first surprised, then annoyed. “You missed me…or you just didn’t see me?” she asked in a ticked off tone. Mac only smiled. The woman began walking away, but Mac followed her.
The woman smiled as she walked up the steps saying, “You know, you could learn a thing or two from me.” “Like what?” Mac asked. The woman stopped when she reached the top of the steps and leaned against the railing. “Like how to treat a crew like a crew. How to give orders instead of asking politely.” “How to turn cold on the outside, but stay as warm as a star on the inside…” said Mac. The woman glared at him.
“You know what I mean,” she said. Mac rolled his eyes. “Joan, I’m not going to be a drill sergeant. I can’t and I won’t.” “It’s not that Mac. It’s that you’ve gone soft.” Mac looked at her questioningly. “Mac, you know what I’m talking about. For example, you should’ve punished Maddox for the incident with the professor.” “It was an accident! I don’t punish people for having a bad run of luck.”
Joan rolled her eyes at that, but continued, “And you let two of your crew mates have a relationship.” “Joan, firstly, my crews’ personal lives are not my concern. Secondly, the council changed that protocol,” said Mac.
Joan sighed. Then she looked at Mac for a moment and said casually, “So, you want to come over for a drink?” Mac at first looked surprised, but then smiled.
Crystal was alone in her apartment. Crystal munched on some bread. She was lonely. Then, there was a sudden knock at the door. Crystal answered it. Standing in the doorway was Hawk. Crystal was surprised to see him here, of all places.
“Uh, hi,” said Hawk, “You um, left this on the ship.” He handed her a gray shirt. It was the only other shirt she owned. She took it and said, “Oh, thank you Hawk.” There was a moment of awkward silence. “You, um, want to come in? I, um, have some bread,” she offered. “Sure,” said Hawk.
He came in and sat down across from Crystal in the kitchen. “Where’s April?” he asked, noticing the absence of Crystal’s sister. “She…she moved in with her boyfriend,” Crystal answered. “Oh. You didn’t tell me that. Actually, you haven’t told me much of anything for a while,” said Hawk quietly. Crystal looked up at him.
Hawk held her hand tenderly, just like he used to. “I want to talk to you, Crystal. I want to know what happened to us.” Crystal had tears in her eyes. Hawk had no idea how long she’d been waiting to hear those words.

Maddox and Dex were in a warm embrace with their Zion mother, Chavi. “Oh, my children. I’ve missed you so much,” said Chavi warmly. The twins had missed Chavi during the trip and were glad to be back with her. Chavi turned and headed toward the kitchen. “Come, sit, eat,” she said as the twins followed her.
There was a sudden knock at the door. “I’ll get it,” Maddox offered. He got up and opened the door. Hitman stood in the doorway, grinning. “Maddox! What’s up?” Maddox grinned back and shook Hitman’s hand. “Hitman! Didn’t catch you last time we were in! I heard you got in a fight though. Geez, doesn’t that ranger ever leave you alone?” Hitman smiled. “Yeah, but you know Captain Joan. If she thought for a minute I’d started the fight, she’d have bit my head off. Ranger has to clean to whole ship tomorrow.”
“On break? Harsh,” said Dex as she entered the room. Hitman seemed to beam even more when he saw Dex. “Dex, you look even more pretty every time I see you.” “Hey, leave my sis alone, Hitman. I can’t have Dex going around with guys who start fights,” Maddox kidded. Hitman gave Maddox a playful punch in the arm.
“Come on in, Hitman,” said Dex as she went into the kitchen. Hitman entered and Maddox closed the door behind him.
Suddenly, Dex froze. Her eyes rolled back, and she fell onto the floor. In an almost immediate response, Maddox felt a sharp pain in his stomach. Chavi rushed to Dex’s side, while Hitman tried to help Madddox.

The Capricorn: Episode 11: In Sickness and in Health
Mac was sitting on a couch in Joan’s apartment, sipping a concoction from a cup. Joan was sitting next to him, also drinking. “Good stuff,” said Mac, “I remember when you used to make back on…” he was interrupted by Joan leaning over and kissing him softly. He kissed her back. God, how he’d missed the feeling of her soft, moist lips.
Chavi and Hitman were waiting in the waiting room of Zion’s hospital. Aside from doctors and patients, no one could go anywhere in the hospital but the waiting room due to the unsanitary conditions the citizens of Zion lived in.
Suddenly, Maddox entered from his examination. Because Maddox had suffered similar symptoms as with Dex, even though he hadn’t been as affected, the doctors insisted on checking him out as well. Maddox had known it was unnecessary. This sort of thing had happened before; Maddox had once been injured during a mission, he’d been shot in the leg, soon Dex had cramping in her leg. It was just some strange thing that Maddox and Dex could only assume was linked because they were twins.
Chavi and Hitman saw Maddox and looked up expectantly. Maddox sat down next to Chavi. “I’m fine, don’t worry,” said Maddox, trying to comfort his foster mother and his friend. Actually, he wasn’t fine. His stomach didn’t hurt as much, but he had trouble breathing now and he felt tired.
“What about Dex?” Chavi asked. “I don’t know very much, but they said a doctor would come to see us soon,” said Maddox. He turned to Hitman. “I need you to do me a favor.” “Name it.” “I need you to go to my crewmates and tell them what’s happened. Go to Tigris first, he’s closest. Floor 5, section R, room 345.” Hitman nodded, then got up and left.
At that moment, a man in a green lab coat came into the waiting room. You could tell he was a doctor, because he had a pair of wings sewn onto the coat, the signature of medical personnel. He walked over to Maddox and Chavi, who stood upon seeing him, approach. “What’s wrong with Dex?” Chavi asked, wringing her hands nervously. “We’re doing everything we can, ma’am, I assure you,” said the doctor, “My name is Dr. Hertz Dex…is a strange case. We know she’s suffering from a virus of some sort, but we can’t pinpoint the disease. We’ve had to hook her up to a respirator and she has a fever of 104. Don’t worry; we have our top staff working to help her. I’ll tell you more when I can.”
Chavi seemed satisfied, but Maddox looked the opposite. As Dr. Hertz began walking back into the medical care area of the hospital, Maddox followed a few steps behind and called, “Dr. Hertz!” Dr. Hertz paused to see what Maddox wanted. “Would you mind having a talk? You know, alone?” asked Maddox giving a glance back to Chavi. “Oh, of course,” said Dr. Hertz, “We could go into the medical area, if you prefer, since you’ve already been cleaned.” “Yeah, sure.” Dr. Hertz led Maddox through the doors leading to the medical rooms.
Tigris was pounding on Mac’s door, but there was no answer. “Hey Mac! Mac! It’s Tigris, something happened! Mac!” Tigris stopped, looking defeated. He turned to Hitman, who had just been watching Tigris. “Okay, let’s just go and get the others,” Tigris said. “Wait, I think my captain knows Mac. I saw her talking with him. Maybe she knows where he is,” said Hitman. “Alright, you go there and see. I’ll go and get the rest of my team,” said Tigris. The two parted in different directions.
Maddox and Dr. Hertz were standing in the small room that connected the waiting room and the medical center. “Here’s good,” said Maddox. He glared at Dr. Hertz. Maddox walked over and got very close to him. “Alright, now tell me what the hell else you know that you didn’t tell my mother,” he said coldly. Dr. Hertz tried to pull off an innocent look, but he failed. “I’m not stupid,” continued Maddox, “Now tell me. What else is there to know?”
Dr. Hertz sighed. “I’m sorry, but…her chances of surviving are slim.” Maddox felt like he’d been slapped in the face. The doctor continued, “We don’t even know what to give her! We don’t even know how she got sick. We’re guessing it’s not contagious since you didn’t get it. That’s basically all we know.” “What…” Maddox had to take a deep breath. “What’s it doing to her?” “In lay-man’s terms…it’s trying to find a way to stop her heart. Its attacking everything; immune system, nervous system, respiratory system… I’m sorry. I truly am.”
Maddox swallowed. “Could…could I see her?” he asked softly.
Mac and Joan were passionately kissing each other on the couch. How could they have forgotten each other? Why had they grown so far apart? Mac was trying desperately to stray from these thoughts…
Bang, bang, bangbangbang! “Captain Joan? Captain, it’s Hitman, ma’am. It’s important!” Joan leapt from the couch, fixed her hair, and straightened her clothes in a matter of seconds. Mac was a tad slower. Joan opened the door to Hitman. “Sorry, captain, but I was wondering if you knew where…captain Mac..of the..Capricorn was…” Hitman spoke slower the more quickly he realized that Mac was in Joan’s apartment on her couch.
Mac, trying to be casual, said, “Well, I’m right here. What’s the problem?” “One of your crew, sir, operator to be precise is sick. She’s in the hospital as we speak.” Mac’s eyes widened. He dashed out the door with a quick, “I’m sorry, I have to go.”
Maddox squeezed his twin sister’s hand. She was sleeping peacefully. She had a respirator and several wires hooked up to her. “You remember how you became an operator?” Maddox asked, knowing Dex wouldn’t respond. “I always worried that you wouldn’t be safe. So, I gave you a choice: become an operator, or I tie you to a chair.” Maddox smiled at the memory of Dex’s words: “Yeah…if you could catch me.”
Mac entered the waiting room, spotted Chavi and headed straight for her. “Mac!” said Chavi when she saw him. She embraced him warmly. They sat down together. “Any news?” Mac asked. “Oh, Mac, I don’t know what to do! The doctor said Dex is very sick, they don’t even know what kind of sickness it is!” Chavi sobbed. “Where’s Maddox?” Mac asked. “He went to speak to the doctor, but he hasn’t been back in such a long time! I just, I just…” Chavi burst into tears. Mac tried to comfort her, but his attentions slowly turned to the person who was entering the waiting room. His eyebrows raised in surprise…

<blushes> Woah O2...beautiful piece but...man me cheeks're red here!!
Oh hey and that symbol for medical staff's a caduceaus...two wings on a cross with a serpent wrapped around it. Unless you weren't usin' that of course...
I gotta say this again: its a masterpiece-except for my computer's difficulty with the font. You do crew interaction scenes very well...and what a cliffhanger! What might actually be happening to the twins? (good reference to the ones in M2 i'd guess)...and what's with the sercret room reference easter egg? Hmmm :p Oh...and who exactly is this Joan? I'm dying to know why ya put her in there!! :D More, More!!

Wow- Oracle 2.0- this is really well written. I love the suspense at the end, and all the emotions flying around. Well done :)

The Capricorn: Episode 12: Old Friends
Standing in the doorway of the waiting room was Councilor Drep, a man with silver hair and sharp eyes, and two other men, workers for the council. Councilor Drep didn’t seem to notice Mac. He started heading into the medical center. Mac stood up and blocked Drep’s path. “Councilor, what brings you here?” he asked. Drep and Mac’s eyes made contact. 12 years of anger were expressed in one stare down. Mac couldn’t help but smile when Drep averted his eyes first.
“It is my business to come to the hospital and inspect whether it is running properly,” said Drep, “You know this captain. Why are you so interested in why a councilor is where he is supposed to be?” Without waiting for an answer, Drep and his two workers pushed right by Mac and into the medical center.
Mac knew that Dex being sick and the councilor’s sudden arrival was no coincidence…because Drep had not asked Mac why he was in the hospital.

Hawk and Crystal were talking quietly when there was a sudden knock at the door. Hawk and Crystal both stood up. Crystal went to the door and opened it to see Tigris and Piper, who was holding her daughter Truth, who was resting her head on her mother’s shoulder. Piper and Tigris both had worried looks on their faces.
“What’s wrong?” Crystal asked. “It’s Dex,” said Piper. “She’s in the hospital,” Tigris said, looking from Crystal to Hawk. “What? Why? Is Maddox_” Hawk was interrupted by Tigris’s firm, “We’ll tell you what we know on the way, come on!” Without another word, Hawk and Crystal followed Piper and Tigris to the hospital.

In the hospital, Mac was pacing. He was trying to think about what the connection was between that scum Drep and Dex’s sickness. Well, a new disease was certainly an issue for a member of the council to investigate…but something still didn’t smell right.

Then, Hitman and Joan entered the waiting room, spotted Mac and approached him. “Mac, what’s happening?” Joan asked, “Hitman told me what he could. Any news?” “Well, this may be of interest to you: our old shipmate is here,” said Mac in a quiet, angry tone. Joan’s eyes narrowed. “Drep is here?” she said in a clipped tone. “Tell me about it. I’m suspicious for his reasons of sudden arrival,” said Mac in a low voice.

Suddenly, Tigris, Crystal, Hawk, and Piper came into the waiting room. Mac smiled; nothing like family to help in troubled times. “Mac!” cried Crystal. “How’s Dex doing?” piper asked, “Can we visit her? Is Maddox visiting her?” “Dex is very ill. The doctors can’t even diagnose her. She’s on a respirator and has a high fever,” said Mac to the crew. This statement was met by concerned looks from the others. “Is there anything we can do?” Tigris asked. Mac sighed. “Not that I know of.”

Dr. Hertz and Councilor Drep were silently watching Maddox sit with Dex from a distance. “We’ll need to get the brother out of here,” said Drep in a low voice to Hertz. “But councilor, they’re twins. They’re very close. It’d be very difficult to separate them…” said Hertz. Drep opened his mouth to speak, but a nurse in a white lab coat came up to Hertz.
“Doctor, the patient with the unidentified disease, her whole crew, her brother’s friend, and a woman who I believe is a friend of the captain, are all here. They’re packing the waiting room!” said the nurse. A cold smile drifted across Drep’s face. He turned to Hertz. “Visiting hours are over early today. That includes the brother.” Hertz nodded, then turned to the nurse. “You heard him.”

Maddox was looking down at his sister’s sleeping body. She really did look beautiful. Maddox had always joked that he knew Dex was beautiful because of the way he looked in the mirror. Isn’t it strange how the most insignificant details always come to memory in times of sadness?
Suddenly, a nurse came up to him and said briskly, “Visiting hours are over. I’m afraid you must leave now.” “Just five more minutes. Please?” Maddox asked quietly without even looking up. “No, the rules are the rules. I’m sorry.” She sure didn’t sound sorry.
Maddox stood up. But it wasn’t to leave, it was to argue with the nurse. “Look, this is my twin sister and she’s dying, can’t you see that? Now all I’m asking is to please have five more minutes with her! Can’t you just spare five minutes?!” Maddox’s face felt hot and his eyes stung with the salt of tears.
This display did not move the nurse. She stared right back coldly into Maddox’s eyes. “No, I can’t. Now leave before you are escorted out.” Maddox glared at the nurse. Sure, just try to escort me out, he thought to himself. But, then again, this was the real world. Here, he had no special skills. He was on the same level as everyone else.
He sneered at the nurse, but headed for the door anyway. On the way, he caught a glimpse of Councilor Drep. He wondered why the councilor wasn’t being asked to leave. Oh well, he was a councilor. The nurse, to make sure he’d leave, followed Maddox until he’d left.
As they watched Maddox leave, Drep turned to Hertz and asked. “How much did you tell him?” Hertz swallowed. “I told him the truth: his sister is sick.” Drep glared at Hertz. “And?” “And…and how the virus is attacking her, and that we don’t know why or how she got sick.” “So you lied.” Hertz decided to captivate himself in the floor.
Maddox came into the waiting room, scowling at first, but he brightened up to see his friends in the waiting room. They all smiled to see him. How’s Dex doing?” Hawk asked. The room didn’t seem so bright anymore. He frowned, and that caused everyone else’s spirits to fall as well.
Interrupting the tension was the nurse who pushed rudely past Maddox and announced to the waiting room “Visiting hours have ended, you are all asked to promptly leave the hospital. Thank you.” She folded her arms and waited for the room to empty. Maddox called the nurse an appalling name, but followed the others outside.
Chavi hugged Maddox tightly outside, then released him and asked concernedly, “How is Dex? What did Dr. Hertz tell you?” Maddox gave Chavi a warm smile, but his eyes gave him away. “She’s going to be fine. Just go home and get some sleep. I’m going to talk with my friends for a while, okay?” Chavi nodded, then walked away.
Maddox turned to the others. He looked at Joan. “Um, why are you here?” he asked. Joan opened her mouth to speak, but Mac answered instead, “She’s a friend of mine. Come on, let’s go to Tigris’s house. We have much to discuss.” The others followed Mac. Hitman hung back with Maddox. “Tell me what the doctor told you,” he said firmly. Maddox didn’t want to talk about it, but Hitman was his old friend…and he liked Dex…a lot. So, on the way, Maddox whispered to Hitman what Hertz had said to him.
When Maddox was finished, Hitman stopped walking. Maddox looked at him with a “What are you doing?” look. Hitman said in a low voice, “We can’t leave Dex there. Mac was saying something was messed up, something about that councilor. I want to keep an eye on her.” “And how are you planning on doing that?” Maddox asked, not expecting an answer.
But Hitman did have an answer, a pretty simple one at that. Seeing a broken piece of metal on the ground, he picked it up and slashed it across his forearm. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Maddox cried, grabbing Hitman’s arm. Hitman showed the long, crimson cut. “Why, look at that big cut. I guess I’ll have to go to the hospital,” said Hitman. Maddox looked from the cut to Hitman. “Uh, thanks?” he said uncertainly.

Drep and Hertz were talking together in front of Dex’s sleeping body. “Alright, Hertz, tell me how the hell this happened.” said Drep. “I don’t know sir. I…I thought we had taken all precautions.” “Well, it’s pretty obvious that you didn’t.” “I’m telling you sir, I have no idea how the vi_” “Shh!” said Drep quietly, looking around to make sure no one had heard the fraction of the word. “Sorry,” said Hertz.
“Just tell me if you’ve finished the vaccine,” said Drep. “We’ve just started a few hours ago! We should’ve made one ahead of time!” said Hertz. “That’d be a risk. A leak could’ve handed it over to the machines,” said Drep in a voice so low only Hertz could barely hear.
Suddenly, Hitman came into the medical center with a nurse, who brought him in. Hertz recognized Hitman, because he’d seen him leaving. “That’s the brother’s friend,” he said in a low voice. Drep glanced at Hitman with narrowed eyes.
Later, Hitman sat on a bed while the nurse examined it. “How did you get this awful cut?” she asked. “My thoughts exactly,” said Drep as he walked up. “Why, councilor, you haven’t left yet?” Hitman asked, pretending innocence, which Drep saw right through. “I have the authority to come and go as I like,” said Drep coldly. Hitman gave a look to Drep that said, “Oh really?” Drep glared at Hitman and turned and walked away.
