the architect is very smart and uses his experience and intelligence againts neo...how did he keep neo from killing him and destroying the source, which is the architect? he told neo he had two choices, go and try to save trinity, or go and save zion...either way trinity would die. parents are often told not to give a child more then two choices, whether if its what to eat for dinner or what clothes to wear. the reason is if you give the child to many choices it will stress them out and what happens when kids get stressed out? it results in deviant erratic behavior...the architect kept a very gentle stance not to provoke neo, by talking in an even tone, talking down to neo in a seated position even though neo was standing. but he created some stress for neo in making neo think he knew what he was going to do next, and also explaining concepts that partly neo understood and partly what neo could not understand, making neo fear the unknown...so the architect mastered bruce lees's philosophy of fighting without fighting. he provided the insecure, perplexed neo a way out of the immediate delimna he was in...when he provided neo the two choices, he created the illusion that he was understimating neo's powers by saying that there were to choices, hecould save trinity, or go save zion...in either case he said neo would fail...so the architect was successful of avoiding any direct physical confrontation, by some serious illusions inflicted into neo's psyche....but, it could have all been over if neo, said it was all bull**** and killed the architect right then and there. anyways that is my two cents, and i may be dead wrong about it all but its a lot of fun coming up with these theories.
