Is 01 and Zion the SAME PLACE ?

Well as much i would like to take credit for it, I think I 've read it some place, and I think it's kind of right....
At animatrix "the second renaissance" movie the city the robots built is called 01 which come to think of it is VERY CLOSE to what Zion sounds like.

And here's another thought. In Martix Reloaded there is a persistent avoidance of showing gruesome scenes of slicing or cutting people up (even when Neo and all his opponents are fighting with DEADLY weapons). Almost all scenes where someone bleeds it's because of being SHOT. Isn't that a bit STRANGE ?

Err.. What does that last point have to do with it?

But Zion is "Deep underground near the earths core where its still warm" Whereas 01 is on the surface.

or Zion is a project of 01, just to create employment.
You could read "purpose" in stead of employment if you understand what i mean.

explain both points a lil bit more to me plz. i dont understand your point on the bleeding or how zion could equal zeroone.

Ze(ro)On(e) was bombed with nuclear weapons and atom bombs so the robots lost the war with the human nation. However they did not extinct and they did built a city underground (or someone built it for them).
These ofcourse are only hypothecal ...

The humans won the war and ofcourse they could not leave the remaining robots laying about, so they created the Matrix to imprison them, study them, make them think human, develop emotions and a liking towards human life.

To be convincing the Matrix could not be escaped without putting a fight with "THE MACHINES" serving the greater purpose of saving human life, so that a robot (human in the Matrix) would be permanently cut from his robotic - machine nature. (kind of like Marticulated in Anmatrix)

So Neo and his companions (all who have input ports for the matrxi) are in fact machines. While all others could be real humans - safety valves grown in Zion, and fed with the story of the "machine rulership" just to commune with the robots rebellions and preserving the dream of matrix slaves reuniting with the REAL humans.

As for the second point, -not cuts and slices within the Matrix- it is just sth that really bugged me because it was unrealistic. So while I can't find a way to connect it with the whole story, I do not think that it's insiginificant.

1st pt:you started something there but I think ya jus royally blew it wif that explanation. WHAT?!

2nd pt:There's no point showing overly gruesome images-2nd renaissance gave me a bad taste in my stomach for doing so. That coupled with The trilogy's focus on philosophy and religion makes that decision logical. Anyway since when was everything in the Matrix realistic?

Indeed my "explanation" must be wrong. It has too many bugs and holes that it cannot be right.

Still, I stick to the opinion that Zion and 01 are the one and the same place. The whole thing of destroying and rebuilding Zion is about updating its residents' AI until it reaches a level of perfection. This could mean that the machines are expected by someone to develop feelings and moreover a human consciousness, so that they won't feel inferior or threatened.

Zion could be created by machines themselves as a refugee or by humans. But the whole story of humans as batteries...PLEASE... and the torching of the sky ....AHEM...

Zeon (Zion) is a relation to Mobile Suit Gundam. Zeon rises up against the Federation (Humanity) and there eventually will be a nuclear war. (Zero One was bombed, but the machines survived). Zion is the land in the Jewish religion from which they came from. It is also a Utopia. Zion, a Utopia for humans, where they are safe and protected, will be taken. Just as Zion was taken from the Jews, they regained control over it. The Humans will regain control over Zion again.

if they said tha 01 and zion were the same place, it would suck for most ppl becuz most ppl havnt seen the animatrix. nobody would understand.

I don't get it. Reloaded was a movie that almost nobody "understood" 'cause "hoffentlich" everything will be explained in the concluding chapter. So in terms of "understandability" reloaded also sucked.

Why would they even bother to release Animatrix, should noone have a reason to see it, other than just being a fan of the series ?

In an effort to see the "whole picture" and not just the Matrx plot, one can easily understand that the Wachowski Brothers really grasped the opportunity to make money on our backs. (Enter the Matrix, Animatrix, the unaccaptably diffusive and unfinished Reloaded, the concluding chapter that will solve everything (!!)).

ofcourse they could embed the story of the 01 city in the Revolutions, as a character's naration and resolve any attaching strings with the animatrix....yet I think that animatrix engulfs many hints as to what ending we should expect...

No it wouldn't. :) . It would be a cool diversion from the whole Matrix in a matrix *stupid* idea. And it would leave many people with a lot of questions which is good for a movie.

I don't like the animatrix at all.. Ok the orisis one and the kids one was nice but other than that, it all suck. They should just stick to anime drawings then all will be good.

I think the animatrix is great, why don't u like it. I like Program and Kids strory. I think all the stories are excelent, but the last one is a bit strange.

Not all pieces of art are created with the intention of you "getting it." Just because the answers don't fall into your lap like "Bad Boys II" or "S.W.A.T" does not mean that the Wachowski (sp?) Brothers made the movie just to bank in on our curiosity. Look at this website. How many people have actually started using their brains that might not otherwise have done so? No, not much solid proof of anything was given to us in Reloaded. I don't always get Picasso, Shostakovich, Cage, or modern dance. Just because I don't necessarily "get it" does not mean that the exercise was not worthwhile.

Well, being on vacation ruined my "quick" correspondance to this post. But anywayz, just to be clear, I never said I don't get Matrix Reloaded. I meant I don't get why i c 3 d r p z thought that animatrix was never supposed to be a part of the whole matrix story.

It would be kind of weird to "not get" Reloaded since there weren't that much to get. Seeing it on DVD (well not exactly on DVD but who cares) clears up the few scenes that were somewhat meaningful.

And I wouldn't go that far comparing Matrix Reloaded with Picasso (!) (*GONG*). My opinion is that Reloaded is not a work of art, just half a movie with the duration of at least one and a half decent movies brought out in order to sell AND to "book" audiences for the concluding chapter.

A great greek poet in one of his poems concerning the luck of "Helen of Troy", has 2-3 verses totally irrelevant with the whole poem where he talks about the beautiful singing of the morning birds in Egypt. When he was asked what was the allegoric value of this reference,- what do the birds or their singing symbolise ? - he calmly answered that there was no deeper meaning, he just thought that the birds in Egypt sang beautifully.

My point being that if some great artist writes or creates something stupid or simple or -to extend this notion- crappy, there always exist someone or many that will find something parabolic, symbolic or meaningful in it, though the pure truth of the "treasure being charcoal" is held only by the creator...

First off, dude, your a good writer, but you a freakin newb. You really haven't read alot obviously. Secondly You suck for dissing the W bros. They are genius's who put out the animatrix so we could better understand what the hell happend.

3nity ... i don't think u got the whole stories .. some of them are made to show us somethings that weren't shown in the movie.. (in a way animatrix is related and connected to the triology )
like 'the flight of the Orisis', it was telling us how zion got the news of the digging sentinels .. i'm sure u got this one coz they mentioned it in the movie ... the kid - u know- it's about the popper we saw him too in reloaded ...
but for the other episodes .... the 2nd rainess. pI & II talks about the war between humans and machines and there are some remarks i will show later, which 'TheKnife' wanted to explain, i read it i think in the same thread he read.

World Record is about how sometimes man could reach unplugging(=freedom) on his own, i mean without being unplugged, he has to have certain abilities i guess or abnormal believes .. i donno ... but this is to show us how 'the first one' freed himself ....

Program .. is just a matrix related story ..
Detective's story too ...

matriculated .. is how to teach machines to be on our side rather than programming it to be (not slaves but allies) ....
as for 'Beyond' it shows u the pt. of view of the pple living in the matrix and they don't know the real truth.. an error in the matrix has accured, the place they show u where the kids are playing..
which makes the logic get scrambled .. slowmotion, shadows aren't in place, stuff like this ...

zion is the last human city after the war ...

there's a theory about the nuclear bomb that was meant to end the machines but they survived ... the thread says that a nuclear bomb triggers EMP and that's a scientific fact ... EMP disables the machines which give the humans time to reprogram them ...
the humans built the matrix so could the machines live in a dream world thinking that after the nuclear attack they won the war and did what they did ... so the whole story is MIM .. even the humans in ZION which is 01 are machines even neo ... about scorching the sky ... they didn't scortch the whole sky .. why do they need to do this ? they just scortch 01's upper sky ... and why the archives talk about the machines as the victims and the humans as criminals ... why do the machines want to have humans as batteries don't they have alternatives like nuclear power, coal power, electric power ... stuff other than human bodies... why do they need to keep humans alive and keep them building Zion again to stay in war with them?

Just get out. Saying stuff like this is unforgivable. No one cares about lame gundam anime crap, and the likeness to the name is nothing more than a slight coincidence (it isn't even pronounced the same). Gundam is stupid, WBs probably would only laugh at it. What in the heck...

Anyways, the way that 01 and zion would be the same is if we hit 01 with an emp shutting them down, we then put them into a matrix, where they think they win the war and put us into a matrix. So the people of zion are a representation of the machines of 01, in that both are enslaved, and that zionites and machines must work together to be free of their human captors. It does make sense, but I doubt that's what is going on.

Yes count to ten..... Anyway I didn't really understand what you were saying about the EMP blasts putting them in a matrix? Could you elaborate or explain better what you are trying to say?
