Although I love this movie, there were a few things I didn't
like.
#1. I don't like the opening scene when trinity leaps from
the building into the little window. I'm not sure what
I'm missing there? But it always seemed
pretty dumb. Kinda killed the scene where the Agent
jumps from one building to another (which I think was
much cooler).
#2. When Neo receives the phone from Morpheus when
he's at work he hides behind the other cubicle. Now
when Morpheus tells him to "GO", Neo goes and they
start playing some music. There is a COP right there,
in front of Neo and although we can hear Neos foot
steps as he runs away, the cop cant.
I can only think of two gripes off hand and both are pretty much the same actors "error".
1. When Cypher is telling Neo about decoder/construct/matrix/etc (same scene where he offers him the hooch) says "...the decoder works for the contruct..." and puts the emphasis in the wrong place. "...works for the contruct" What? As opposed to working "with" it? Or "against" it? Shoulda been more like "works for the construct..."
2. When Tank is describing the goop/food, the last part comes out really awkwardly: "vitamins, [awkward pause] and minerals".
Wow, if those are the only gripes I can think of off hand I must have really liked the movie! :D
After all the very "philosophy" behind the behaviour and way of dealing with life is very much related to traditional Asian way of thinking - not to mention the martial arts.
- The truth is beyond that what your eyes tell you.
- Don't focus on what you see, but what you feel.
- Don't fight a hard with hard, but become the water - be one with your surroundings...etc...
The movie is actually more Asian than Western if you get what I mean, so I think it would have added some credibility to have someone with that kind of background present. Not only as off-camere instructors. But the world may not be ready for Asian heros?
Think Jet Li could have added to the movie...maybe not as Neo but in a support role...
Ok, not a big deal for me this, not as big as it sounds :) - just something I've been thinking about.
Jet Li was apparently given the opportunity to play a part in M3 but turned it down: http://www.bbc.co.uk/films/2002/03/29/jet_li_the_one_interview.shtml
And the west isn't totally devoid of Asian Heros. Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Chow Yun Fat, etc.
The fact that they wasn't as much kung fu in the movie than The Matrix Reloaded
I really didn't like the part when neo and trinity go in to save morpheus and neo and trinity are on the rooftop fighting off all the cops and you can see the cop in the background picking up a gun but trinity throws a knife at him. I didn't like that part because no trained cop would be picking up a gun that SLOWLY. And it wasn't in slow-mo.
1. The part near the end where Neo is running to find the phone in the bulding, then get's shot by Agent Smith a dozen times. But the f'ed up thing about that was he didn't really die, he came back which was really stupid. I realize if he didn't, there would be no movies, but it could have been better.
2. The scene where Switch and A-Poc die or unplued by Cypher. It was pretty gay.
3. When Neo is interrogated by the Agents and they get rid of his mouth. That was weird, but atleast now I know what the human face looks like without one thing missing from their face.
