Made the Matrix a religion

i know it is based on religions or a religion but has anyone made the matrx a cult?

no and i hope not, cuz there is no reason to

but i know ppl who make cults out of the makers of invader zim who go to school w/ me

i heard of a group of people who joined up thinking that this was the matrix and they had to escape... i have no evidence to back this up though... it was on the news a long while ago...

And I read somewhere that you can register a new religion as long as you have at least 1000 genuine members worldwoide. Which is how there came to be a Star Wars religion. (that's actually true)

If there are enough fan for SW there should be alot for The Matrix! Its like the SW of our time lol.

Thats is indeed very weird to make the matrix a cult. I mean who are you going to pray to? Or what principals would you follow. Who ever makes a cult out of a movie, ie SW and The Matrix...is obviously very deluded.

I believe Jedi is a recognised religion here in the UK now after the last census, when about 50,000 people wrote down Jedi as their religion on the forms :)

Okay, I thought people were crazy here in the states...but more of a craze in the UK!? I'm not trying to sterotype when i say this but...You know how the Japanese fans REALLY contribute to the sales of movies...just imagine how obsessive it would be there...like WORST than here!

If I remember correctly, some TV show (maybe the So Graham Norton show) encouraged everyone to put Jedi down on their census form and thats how the whole idea came about. I'll check up on it later ( 3am here :O ).

why would anyone particpate in a religion as weak as that? there is no foundation, no nothing. the only significant thing to believe in is the thought of freeing your mind... which is already part of many other religions. you have to be a pretty weird fanatic to join something like that...

they dont understand or dont want to understand other beliefs and want to be only among people like them...very sad indeed.

yes, we meet at the Heart O' the City hotel on fridays to hack around. Then, we follow people with white rabbits tattooed on them until they call the police. On Sunday, we try to bend spoons. oh yeah, and we train in the martial arts for most of the rest of the week. We're having a fund raiser to buy some of the shades, clothes, etc. To join, our leader will take a red pill, hide it behind his back, and ask which hand it's in. if you guess correctly, you're in.

Well, if they do make the matrix a cult, that'll defeat the purpose of it's creation. The creator[God bless] of the matrix wrote it that it follows the Bible to some extent ie, Trinity?[as in THE Trinity], Neo is the anynagram[sp?] for one? That there will come a time of change? That the matrix is not the real world[like our world is to prepare us for heaven] So...making it a cult would really break the guys heart, you know?
