The Mother of The Matrix

I'm constantly trying to figure out who is the Mother of The Matrix. I'm constantly switching back and fourth between The Oracle and Persephone. As we all know, The Mother of The Matrix is designed to investigate the human psyche (emotions). And as we've seen in the trailers from Revolutions Smith apparently copied himself into The Oracle and we see him laughing, experiencing a human emotion.

But then again Smith has already begun human transformation with the intervention of Neo. He said that he was satisfied when he killed Neo. He also apparently experiences anger. But then again we all see that Persephone can experience emotions when she touches humans.

So could it be that Smith copied him self into Persephone in The Oracle's apartment? The Merovingian did track her down. Could Persephone been left behind and captured by Smith? I don't know, but I'd love to hear your opinions on my stipulations.

Although both the Oracle and Persephone experience 'emotions' I still think that the Oracle is the mother of the matrix simply because of the role she plays in Neo's journey. Like a 'mother' she guides Neo along the path of the 'One'. She inspires him which persephone does not do at all. Persephone is just another piece of the puzzle, a bump in the raod if you will. And besides what Mother in their right mind would make-out with their son.... Twice!!!

Persephone: Come give your mother some suga Neo!

Neo: Oh no, not again.

Persephone: Listen here Mr. Anderson do you want the keymaker or not?!?!

Neo: Yes mom.

Persephone: Then get yo but ova here and give me some suga! Now!

Neo: Yes mom.

They begin making out.

Ten minutes later they finish.

Neo: There are you happy?

Persephone: No, I did not feel anything! No keymaker for you!
Unless......

Neo: Unless what?

Persephone: You kiss me again and make me feel like Trinity!

Neo: Aw man, here we go again!

The Mother of the Matrix is The Oracle.

why would it be persephone? there is not much proof...

I just had a revolation. They are both the "Mother of The Matrix" well so to speak. They are both programs which investigate the human emotions. Think about it. Merovingians whole clan is comprised of exile programs left over from the first version of the matrix.

The twins and warewolves were like the agents which eliminate all objects which threattened to corrupt the system. (contested, but highly accepted). So Persephone could be an old version of a program which does the same tasks as The Oracle, or vice versa even.

But which one discovered the power of choice (Making them the "Mother of The Matrix") is still at question for me.

Yeah but any wife who has been cheated on long enough will know/expect when their husband is gonna cheat. And besides it has to be the oracle because Persephone is married think about the messed up love triangle or square that would be. Persephone and the Arch. together while she is married to the Merovingian. While the Merovingian is runing around with every decent looking hoochie that he comes across. Plus if Persephone was the Mother of the Matrix wouldn't she be the one guiding Neo through the course of the one and not the oracle?

Smithmatic, your taking the Mother title why too literally. The architect was only using it as a metaphor. And all we know about the Mother of the Matrix is that she discovered the power of choice, and she was made to investigate the human psyche. It has never been said that she developed the prophecy to handle the anomaly. The anomaly is only a product of her solution.

A possible scenario would be Persephone discovered choice, then the anomaly arose. The system decided Persephone failed and called for her deletion because The Oracle was made to replace her in solving the problem of the anomaly.

when you put it like that it makes perfect sense Choi. The only thing that bothers me is that she doesn't seem that involved with Neo. I would think that she would feel some sort of attachment to him and possibly make an appearance in M1. but maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. It would have been too much to see an exile progarms in M1.

Smithmatic, if I'm right, Persephone is no longer involved with the system and the cycle of the anomoly (thats The Oracle's job). Persephone's motive (pupose) is still a mystery to me. I think there is a lot of information in the bathroom scene that has been over looked.I am so sick and tired of his bulls***, on and on, pompous prick. -PersephoneIf what I'm saying is true. Persephone lives by a philosophy based around everything begins with choice. Possibley a long time ago The Merovingian did as well. Is this is what she means by that? I'm not sure, but I think the lipstick is important too. Much like The Merovingians cake. Could it have possibly altered Neo in some way? And in the cheateu, what did The Merovingian mean by "It is only a game"?

I think I need to think about this some more.

Why would persaphone play apart in Neo's jounrey. when she was suppose to be deleted. From what i gather all programs in exile arent suppose to be part of the Prophecy.

The thing that gets me is this. Why does The oracle need to be protected?

Is she in exile as well?

Is she part of the destruction of the Matrix?

Smith was killed. He was suppose to go for deletion. But didnt.

So going back to my previous statement. Smith is no longer suppose to be part of the prophecy. Which is maybe why it turned out to be true. With smiths intervension it could have had a - let's say a 'ripple effect' If he hadnt killed Neo. would trinity have declared her love? Love being the main reason neo chose not to enter the source!

The prophecy never came true because it was a lie. Everything that has happend has happend because neo relised it was a lie before it was to late. Everything that was suppose to happen had been written. Which is why it had been moniterd (by the archutect). Now revolations everything is unwritten. I suspect You'll find the auricle will be unable to guide neo anymore. Neo won't be able to dream therefore change whats going to happen.

Neo and Smith are going to fight we all know this, but why?

Whats smith got to do with the Matrix int he sense of it's exsistence he was merely a soilder under command.

Everything has gone wrong as far as the archutect is consernd. Which is good for humanity because if it had gone to plan Zion would already be destroyed.

The prophecy is false in the sense that Neo didnt save humanity by entering the source.

But he is the one. He was suppose to be part of the cycle to recreate the matrix and stop minds from being freed. He was a way of maintaining crops. Now he has gone against his destiny just like Smith did. Smith was suppose to keep Neo under control. Both have failed in the paths the archutect created for them. because they chose against it. The choice was only there to allow them to follow the path. Think a bout it if people didnt have choice they'd know they werent truley living, Which is why the archutect had to install choice into the matrix. the danger in this is he loses control over the Matrix! As people can choose to go against it!

Smith wants to rule Zion and the matrix i feel and defeat Neo. Neo being the only one that can save Zion. Which is why he must be stoped He in a sense with NEo being destroyed become the Next one.

The only way he will beable to destroy Smith is to shut down the Mainframe. Where Smiths program is run from! This will envolves killing himself because like all true matyres he has to die.

The Matrix will be shutdown and the minds will be freed. Although most will die. Smith will die because hes a program. BUT

His program now runs off the mind of Bane and not the mainframe. But i dont think smith will let on that he is bane! Untill Neo is dead. leaving someone else having to kill him!

I feel that Smith is a whole different can of worms apart from the prophecy, so I'm going to try on not to touch on him here.

I see what your saying about Persephone taking her part in the prophecy. The Merovingian was trying to desrupt the prophecy by taking the keymaker away from Neo, and Persephone corrected the course. But why? with out the why we are powerless -lol- And how was The Merovingian like Neo. Saying that he is the reminance of a previous on seems too corney and easy of an answer to accept.

Because if they got a program to play the part then...they would have less to fear about what door they would choose!

If Neo is to be the savior of mankind, could it be possible he will also be the savior of machine-kind as well?

WHY?---

If Agent Smith is one of the destructive men "With power...who want more power" (and he is) then he is the perfect anthesis to Neo's compassion and perceived Messianic abilities. The ultimate power for Smith would be to control both the machine and human worlds. So in vanquishing Smith, Neo would be saving both worlds (though inadvertently).

The Zion elder and the Oracle both suggested in their own ways that the relationship between man and metal was perhaps more symbiotic than most people (and machines) thought. Their little words may have big meaning later on.

This duality is central to the Matrix experience. Neo must destroy Smith in both the Matrix and the real world. We see "choices":

A or B? right or wrong? left or right? day or night? death or life?

become increasingly complex as the series progresses but there is always a fundamental fact that always runs its course:

why does the mother have to be a girl?? i know mothers are always girls, but what if he was just saying metaphorically speaking- if im the father she would be its mother- the merovingie seems to investigate human emotions more then anybody- the whole scene with the cake? very intuitave about it also? just thinking out loud
