smith_fan I know that this an international Matrix fan club, so I wanna know what languages you're able to speak. neoluvr i speak english very well, as you can see, because i am from the USA. i live in Illinois. i took a french class last year and i dont know much but i do know some! us 1.0 i speak a few words but in many different languages Atari english, french and welsh. Morpheus1 english and only english UT English, german, austrian and some dutch. UT Oh and I can speak only a bit of Maltesse CraHan Well for the record, belgian and dutch should be regarded as the same thing. It's like american english and UK english, basically the same, but with a few minor differences (mainly the accent/dialects). Oh, and I speak english, french, dutch and a wee bit of german ;). UT Thank you for clearing that up for me. I have always pondered but never asked. I suppose that it is just like German and Austrian. Austrian dialect is more drawn out in annonciation in comparison to German. Thanks for correcting me crahan. UT Vegitto I can speak English, Dutch, Latin, Frenc, German and Japanese. Only a bit Japanese, I'm taking classes for about half a year.:) iamatwin i speak spanish, german, french and i am lerning japanese from my sensei TheDrakemaster Hmmm, did any Americans on this site learn to speak dutch somehow(lol), or are there just a few Belgian posters in here. As crahan said, Belgian doesn't exist; it's dutch all the same, just a different accent. I speak also English, French and Spanish. Hmmm, Japanese; that would be nice to know! Morpheus1 Originally posted by UltimateTrinity English, german, austrian and some dutch. UT Oh and I can speak only a bit of Maltesse dang thats cool, i wish i can do that, but im blonde and if i try to say something i bet ill say the wrong thing and get hitt, celled or hanged. bucho4321 I speak English and Spanish. LOL. You can't really go wrong, unless you use one of those cheesy language guides they have in the movies to add that humorless humor. Go for it. It's alot of fun. Love UT smith_fan Originally posted by ae2198 can someone tell me if french is difficult to learn? i know spanish and the obvious but has anyone had any trouble with french? thanks I think you can only find out for yourself. It's everytime different. At first I had a lot of problems in learning french but when you try your best everything is possible. So, it's a hard language but are there really easy languages at all? ae2198 your right. people always tell me that spanish is so difficult to learn. me too it might be the simpliest language to learn as long as you can pronounce the words. freeyourmind Hebrew and English. Want to learn French liondale Norwegian, Swedish, Danish (all pretty similar) English and German. And just enough for survival: French, Finnish, Spanish skydragon Wow! A lot of you must be European to get to learn so many interesting languages, but I live in the USA so I only know English and chinese well cuz im chinese, but I wish I could learn Japanese... ~Skydragon TheDrakemaster Originally posted by liondale Norwegian, Swedish, Danish (all pretty similar) English and German. And just enough for survival: French, Finnish, Spanish Is Noorwegian, Swedish and danish similar like similar in grammatica and vocabulary and only the pronuctiation is different or is it more like French and Spanish (not that similar)? I've had a few lessons german (cause I needed it for the content of some texts) and it looked pretty tough with all the different forms of the words (even the simplest words have different forms). mazman I'm afraid I'm crap at languages. Half the world speaks English anyway so I'm not worried! Aquinas Obviously I speak English, a little bit of Latin and Hebrew, and I know quite a bit of Spanish:) liondale Originally posted by TheDrakemaster Is Noorwegian, Swedish and danish similar like similar in grammatica and vocabulary and only the pronuctiation is different or is it more like French and Spanish (not that similar)? I've had a few lessons german (cause I needed it for the content of some texts) and it looked pretty tough with all the different forms of the words (even the simplest words have different forms). The written language is pretty similar and the grammar is almost identical. There are of course some words that are only for one of the languages, but if you live in one of the countries you pick those up pretty fast. The biggest difference is in pronounciation. So they are a lot more similar than French and Spanish. They are all Germanic languages, like English, German, French, Spanish, Italian etc. The grammar is quite close to German too... Jebulum try telling to a spanish, french or italian that he speaks a german language and see what's happening... Aquinas I think he said "germanic" not "german" Maybe this will clear up your confusion: germanic-pertaining to the ancient Teutons or their languages; "Teutonic peoples such as Germans and Scandinavians and British"... a branch of the Indo-European family of languages... Hope that helps:) Jebulum cheers, buti still don't see how Spanish, Italan, french or Rumanian which are romanic tongues, another branch from Indo-European family are linked to that tree. it's like saying korean, japanese and chinese are same thing. :) http://softrat.home.mindspring.com/germanic.html Aquinas Well...you did your homework... I stand corrected.;) liondale Originally posted by Jebulum cheers, buti still don't see how Spanish, Italan, french or Rumanian which are romanic tongues, another branch from Indo-European family are linked to that tree. it's like saying korean, japanese and chinese are same thing. :) http://softrat.home.mindspring.com/germanic.html Well, then I stand corrected too. I was sure they belonged to the Germanic family...:) Jebulum Aye, i just know from where comes my native tongue, i'm sure it's the case for most users on this UBB :D even if, i agree, there is a lot of similarities between german and latin, in the declinations, etc... you will find a lot of common between germanic and romanic, but it's just as different as korean and japanese. NeoRunner I'm Brazilian so you can guess that I speak portuguese, and I know english (I've learn just because I am a big fan of american culture) from movies, music, and games Esse fórum é muito legal, muita gente bacana!
