keanu refuses m4

Which is what I hope for this last little bit of news. I really really really hope that the Wachowski brothers own the rights to The Matrix. Otherwise this last bit of news is more scary than anything I have ever read!!

Just one problem – Keanu Reeves has already told them he’s not doing it. If the Matrix 4 gets the greenlight, as insiders are expecting, it looks like there will be a new face playing Neo or a certain character missing from the next chapter.”

If this is true then all of my nightmares have come true at once and The Matrix is going to really turn into this generations’ Star Wars! Someone else playing Neo, or no Neo, in another Matrix movie just makes it feel like it’s going to be a cheap rip-off!!! Please don’t let them do this!!!!

The W.Bros wrote the trilogy, and deliberately made it a triology, so I don't think they'd extend it.....but then, the money must be really good. It would ruin the whole story to do a fourth, I don't want it to be an everlasting francise like Bond or something! And if Keanu left, that leaves 2 options 1)no Neo, 2)someone selse. Both of those suck!
I think if they made a fourth it would have to be very very very good to convince most people that they didn't just do it for the money. And they'd probably have to set it in either the 7th matrix (?), or in the future (or past) so Neo wouldn't be in the story at all.
I really hope that they leave it at 3 though.

They won't extend it. I hope that the Wachowski brothers can resist to the money offers they could have.

Perhaps they could make a movie about M0 (unless Animatrix already covered that - I haven't seen it yet). This would require none of the current characters.

Honestly, it was planned as a trilogy and I reckon it should stay at that. I hopw the Wachowskis don't end up with dollar signs in their eyes over this. There is an oppertunity for vast amounts of cash to be made, but I think 3 films is plenty.

The Wach Bros dont need the money, and if they want something the way it is, then thats what there gonna get.

With no Keanu, then the plot of M4 would get confusing, especially if its in a previous matrix.

It all depends on who owns the rights to the Matrix movies really. If the W. Brothers own them then they won't bother making M4 since the original idea was to make a trilogy. Now, if mr Joel Silver owns them or a studio does, then I see M4 actually happening.

See, what the Wachowskis created as their 'work of art' is nothing than big ol' $$$ to people like Joel Silver. And if they can milk the cow until it's dry to the bone, then they will do so, regardless of what people like us think.

For the record though, I *really* don't want to see them make M4!

i think that if neo dies in revolutions and they make a 4th movie, they should probably center the story more about another important character. like morpheus, or mouse, or trinity, or even niobe. i for one would be very interested to find out what kind of hacker hijinks trinity and morpheus were up to before they found the one. or, they could focus on either the 7th version of the matrix and how the machines and humans work out together. who knows? i'd rather have it end at three, but after becomming so addicted to this series, i don't think that 3 movies would ever be enough. if there was some way to keep every matrix movie very original and have new effects we've never seen before with a kick-ass story line to boot, then i'd be one very happy camper.

I think that it would be really cool to see more. I think the whole Matrix idea is so good that they would get plenty of good movies about it.

I am really interested about Matrix, I would like to see something about the previous ones (I mean Matrix versions with that), or Animatrix as a "real" movie, or stuff like there was on those comics on that official Matrix site, and so on.. Just give me more! :)

no way......a forth matrix would be a miscarriage of justice and a blatant money spinner.

I dont know afourth matrix would kinda be tight but aint happening and besides my friend told me that the matrix will be a tv show set on the previous matrixes and how it all started and the W. bros are going to go make better movies.

well they made a tv show called threat matrix...but it has nothing to do with the matrix...its like another CSI

Just because they can doesnt mean they should. For instance, I can walk into an airport with a nine mm in my pocket and spend 10-15 in prison (or more), but I won't . . . The W bros. can make more movies and make more money, but they won't. <Providing of course they own the rights and not some other jerk off whos in it for the money not the art.

If m4 dosen't have neo, than i am going to hate it from now. But if it does, than i will have to see it and judge the movie then.

I agree that is a storyline that could end to a "Bond, James Bond" Like Series. Those who have problems about mr. Reeves should consider that Neo as a character appears only once in the animatrix series and that storyline would keep up even without him as the one. I'd love to see more, because those brothers are doing excellent work.

but remember, you dont want to kill it....james bond kinda died out...when the new one just came out everyone was just like.....so what, another bond movie....

I doubt they'd replace keanu, they'd probably either have it set after his death or make it a prequel.

there not going to make another matrix its not going to be like star wars and if they do it will be a TV show set on the early ones or Neos or Eons but who knows you can never tell the future butonly guess the answer it is the question that drives you and what is the question ?

umm, I hate to break it to you guys, but filmrot.com is just a load of garbage, it doesn't matter what they say, it isn't true.

If they want to continue with it they could also make a anime, no need for Keanu there, like everybody said there's a million stories they could tell
