I just saw this movie, exellent indeed. I have so many questions that have so few answers only hypothetical guesses....i will talk about more stuff tomarow night(thrusday) cuz i saw it tonight in fargo, nd at 10 pm. All i have to say is the brothers did an exellenct job on the plot and the story and the special effects only added to it.

excellent plot. excellent effects. it DOESN'T get any better than
this.
i'll start up a few threads with questions, until then, good night.
I really think the sequel was only mediocre. First off they failed to make any connection between the first movie and this one. OK. Neo is the One.....a bunch of stuff happens.....now they're under attack. Hmmm....I wish I know just exactly what has happened.....who are all these new people....what are they doing here......how did they become involved....what roles do they play?????
None of those questions are answered in any way. I know the matrix is all mysterious and what not and they want to keep the mystique but when I pay $6.00 for a movie I expect to come out of it feeling like I just experienced something I enjoyed, I feel more complete, and want to come back for more. Instead I came out of it with a bad taste in my mouth and feeling incomplete and confused.
What had I just seen? There was some cool fighting, nifty effects, and what not but after the first movie I expect something special and unique, not just another rip-off. Overall I give the movie a 6.5/10 Please let me know what you all think.
It tells you exactly what happened.
Dozer died, Elected a new driver.
Morpheus went to ZION. (the place that was spoken of SEVERAL times in the first movie)
That's where all the new people came from.
Agent Smith was freed from the matrix simply because he was confused.
The movie is confusing if you don't understand what they are saying. (you need an IQ higher than 40 to understand this movie)
You have to also remember that they are playing double roles, in two different worlds. Everything tied together.
Even the spoon.
P.S. There is a spoon.
My goodness! Someone sure is cranky today. Congrats you hold a different opinion than mine....no need to get offensive. I realise they explain what happened with the main characters. I am talking about all the new ones they introduced.
For example...I was all excited to learn about the two white guys. They looked BADASS! in all the ads I have seen and they plaster them on a lot of them. I wanted to know who they were...what they were about...etc. etc. They didn't explain anything about them. I pieced together that they seem to be programs created to protect that french (hey look censorship ->) *******, but I have no way of knowing anything for sure.
Also to add to my earlier review, I also feel that there was no emotional connection created between the viewer and the characters, esp. the new ones. I think they should have spent less time showing us Neo fighting (I understand, hes the one, hes badassed, blah blah blah) and creating these connections and a greater understanding between the audience and the world.
A terrific example is the first movie. What a piece of work! I really felt a connection between myself and the characters presented. I was learning along with Neo, understanding alongside him, feeling alongside him. I felt as if I was almost a participant in the world. The second movie makes me feel like a viewer. Which is OK but not anything special or new. I would appreciate less hostility in further postings, but if you feel the need I don't really care. Afterall you can do say pretty much whatever you want as long as it doesnt bother Fuhrer Bush or his allies.
why would they want to explain about them when you
can formulate your own theories?
that's why everyone loves the matrix, endless possibilites.
i thought it was just as good as the first one, if not better.
i suppose that there is no way to satisfy everyone, even
with a great peace of work like this movie. there will
always be someone out there to complain.
Fine. It wouldn't have mattered if they forced me to formulate theories if they only made more of an attempt to make connections and explain the characters better. It would have enriched the movie greatly. As I said before, the connection I felt with Neo in the first movie made it what it is. The lack of me connecting and understanding the characters in the second movie ruined the feel and the mystique of the series for me.
Maybe not others. I am not trying to persuade people merely say what I think and see what other people think and if anyone agrees with me. I would VERY much like to see someone in agreement.
well. i'd like to get to know the characters too but honestly,
there was no time.
this movie was extremely long as it is, and i feel as if it was
playing 3x its speed. everything was happening super fast
and i don't see how they could get more descriptive with
the characters.
we find out the most important things:
1. oracle is a computer program.
2. agent smith is no longer an agent. he is out for himself
on a mission to kill neo.
3. intro of new captains including niobe, link, etc
4. introduction of many new characters in Zion.
I think the movie was packed with info as it is. and as far as
the two morphing guys go, i guess that if we didn't hear much
about them, they wont play an important role in the story, they're
probably just visual effects.
Just saw the movie too. It was f***kn awesome. Can't wait to see it again. I have sooo many questions. I would have had less if I hadn't kept being distracted. I went with my cousin to watch the movie but he was sick (caught a cold), tired from long day of work, and not used to being up so late. We watched the 11pm show and he slept through the second half of the movie. He started snoring kind of loud and I had to wake him up before he would get kicked out. Any ways. I already bought tickets for tomorrows show. I'm sure I will pick up more details and understand the movie better. Just like the first one.
I just had a three hour conversation about the movie and basically the only consensus we came to is the movie is the **** and the plot is confusing as hell but not outside the realm of understanding and it should not have been any more precisely defined.
First it was ****ign amazing, no way of denying that. Everything was good. The graphics were the best ever, and the plot is beyond belief.
I agree you need at least a limited IQ to watch the movie if its low your **** out of luck. They carefully explain what you need to know and leave a bunch of **** uncovered. Remember though we're finding all this **** out with Neo. Who's lying who's not where does the matrix end and where does it begin. Is the oracle just a computer program, is it good or bad, these are all good questions. This movie allows for discussion. Yes it was a metaphysical mind ****, but we all need that time and again, and if you think you don't need it you are in more desperate need.
I'm gonna watch it again in two days. I give it a 10/10.
