i am just back from the 10:00 showing, the movie was amazing, except some of the fight scenes were too cartoonish. It sucks taht it ends w/ a cliffhanger but thats life. The trailer for revoultinos was amazing... i can't wait... any questions?
I didnt see the movie yet, but do you think it's gonna be a Matrix in the Matrix like the real world is a Matrix also? Cause everyone that has seen the movie is saying this. All I want to know.
read the other threads - there are many comments about this and the 13th Floor - I sure hope not.
As I said in another post though - what is really going to boil your noodle later (to quote the oracle from M1) is if the gift he gets from one of the orphans means anything in the so-called 'real' world...

K-lynn, I find your posts some of my favorite on this forum. I am not sure why.
Can you elaborate more on the gift theory? What meaning could he get from the spoon, assuming that's the gift you were talking about.

I think the spoon could symbolize the same thing it did in the first movie, there is no spoon, hence a second level matrix. I, as probably most people did, thought the spoon was just a good luck gift from the real person of the kid in the oracle's apartment, but after you mention it, it could symbolize that the "real" world is in fact a matrix. Also, it seems to me that Morpheus put a lot of emphasis on calling the world of zion the real world. Could be that the W brothers do this to try to make the second level martrix a huger suprise.
yeah, I took it at face value that the spoon was just a spoon, just to say 'hey, I knew you when you weren't famous and the one...'.
But just as everything else in the matrix movies, there is always more than face value.

Well, I think if Freud were here he might say 'Sometimes a spoon is just a spoon'. But I remember picking up on the 'there is no spoon' concept in the elevator shaft when I first saw it, and used that phrase as the representation - both online and off - that I was a fan of the matrix and understood the concept.
Sort of like how I saw the movie 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' and the phrase 'rainbow carnage' stuck in my head for some silly reason from the soliliquey on the goomey bears. I later found out that the big cult fan clubs in California for the Hedwig movie call themselves 'rainbow carnage'.
In fact, it really REALLY pissed me off when I caught the network edit of the Matrix - they completely skipped over his saying this in the elevator. I think that whisper held more relevance than when they were watching him on the Neb console and Trinity upon seeing him not running from the agent asks, "What is he doing?" and Morphius says "He is begining to believe."
I think the main floor of the government building gun fight was just a complex shootout (obviously, with other humans). The first leap of faith by Neo was there in the elevator shaft. Sure, it was perhaps a leap to re-enter the matrix to get Morphius at all, but that was the first real 'defining' test IMHO.

P.S. - woo hoo, I have my custom avatar now!
Get theory picking up on the concept of the spoon, i did remember the quote when i saw the spoon, but i took it as face value, but that is just another link the proven fact that there are 2 matrixs....
Blurr
possibly he uses the spoon to dig out of zion?...........
you never know
But wouldnt that be digging towards the machines?
The spoon deifntely symbolizes a matrix in the matrix...
the spoon defintely doesnt symbolize anything. its just a spoon people dont try and look into it deeper
No, the spoon means something. It's a Matrix within a Matrix alright. It shows the true fans "Like us" that the 'real world' is infac not real and we know it when we look back on it like we are right now.
[COLOR=firebrick]Who liked it when Neo got shot and agent smith gets a little happy and starts walking away and Neo suddenly wakes up and like he couln't believe it and agent smith starts shooting and Neo could stop the bullets when it came right at him.:D
