Ok, this is a repost. I posted it ages ago in the Lounge - believe it was the first fiction here :) Guess a lot of you haven't seen it so I dared repost it in the proper place - here.
Ok, a lot of discussions have covered this already, but here is a completely new theory followed by some inside info on what happened afterwards.
First the theory:
This was just the typically "who is the biggest btch" psychological contest between two women, and Persephone just wanted to see if she could get away with frenching Neo in front of Trinity And Neo the "poor bastard" fell for it (as if any other of us guys wouldn't have).
And this is what happened later that day when they got "home".
Neo: "You are so quiet, is everything ok?"
Trin: "Yes, everything is ok! Why shouldn't it be?!"
Neo: " Eh...Nothing I was just wondering...?"
Silence for another 5 minutes....
Neo: "Are you sure everything is ok?"
Trin: "Of course everything is ok! You are happy and I am happy!"
Neo: "But you don't look too happy?"
Trin: "Of course I am happy! How many times must I say this?! Are you stupid or what?!"
Neo: (not quite sure what to say now) "Eeehhh...? Ok, if you say so".
Trin: "Yeah right, as if you would care about what I say - or feel."
Neo: "What?! What do you mean?!"
Trin: "Nothing, please be quiet now I am trying to focus."
Neo getting slightly nervous now - he has a vague suspicion something is wrong - but he can't really pin point it. And he knows that the woman in front of him is a lethal weapon, who could levitate and kick *down* on his head anytime if he turns his back to her.
....silence...
The conversation is repeated, but this time instead of entering another silence, Neo asks: "You are not thinking of the situation with Persephone are you?"
Trin: "What?! No! But you obviously can't get her out of your head - can you?!"
Neo: "But Trin..."
Trin: "It's no problem. We got the Keymaker and got you to the Architect so you could save the world. That's what's important and I am happy. It doesn't matter that you had to stop and kiss that slut right in front of my face on the way. That you couldn't just kick her ass as you do with all the others that doesn't help us. NO! The Great NEO the One can't even control the little One. It's so assuring that the fate of mankind rests in the hands of a brainless head - NO, not THAT head Neo!"
Neo: "Ehhhhh.....?" (Looking for an open window he could fly out of) "Maybe we should talk about this?"
Trin: "About what? There is nothing to talk about - I am happy you had such a great day kissing strange women! Isn't that what all men wants? Anyway I don't care, I'm going to bed now - goodnight - hope you have nice dreams of that woman you can't stop thinking of."
Neo: "Trinity wait" - reaches out for her.

It would be so funny to think of Neo and Trinity of this arguing couple, who don't get on and have little fights all the time! She'd be cooking dinner, he'd be watching the game with a beer...........

UT Liondale: Alot of people don't think what happened after the kiss, because he did get into it. When ur in a relationship with whoever that sh*t hurts n sincerely it does not matter if ur saving the world, ur feelings got hurt, u got betrayed right infront of ur face. So I have to say is that I LOVED IT, u saw what went behind it, good job :D lol pick yourself off the floor.... I really don't think any mature person would react like that. Neo couldn't just jump kick her, the place was wired with bombs and guards were everywhere. Not only that, but you don't just solve all your problems with your fists.
I'm glad the WBs portrayed trinity as mature and not as imbecilic. No one can love someone and berate them like that when it's not even their fault. Must be why so many relationships fail.

Ok, I think you might have taken this just a liiiiitle bit to serious. I didn't actually think this would be the result of the kiss, but wanted it to be funny - *with* some relation to what many mature people can do and say.
As I commented in the original post, in true love there is bound to be hints of jelousy discussions similar to this has arisen in very many relationships - also the ones that succeed a life time. The point is that with love and passion comes strong feelings, and strong feelings sometimes result in irrational behaviour, but still they serve the good cause of emptying the anger so they can move on.
I think a relationship has a greater chance of failing if there are no confrontations like this, because either there are no passion or the people are holding back, and when they explode its too late.
I am going to make a statement here that you may prove me wrong on - but I think any woman older than 25 who has been in a long term relationship, have at some point behaved pretty close to this.
What I am saying is that I agree with you, this did not belong in the movie, and certainly not in a pink movie romance. But I don't agree that this is imbecilic behaviour. Originally posted by liondale

I think if all the girls are honest, we all have to say there's been an argument like that at some point! I think when ur in a relationship, u will always face jealousy, in some matter or another. That is a natural feeling for when u care about someone.

Hades, I agree hun. If he had not kissed her the information and the key would not have been given. It was necessary therefore, the greater good won out. If I were Trinity, I would not have had a problem with it. Besides, there really wasn't anything to it and he was probably thinking of Trinity the whole time. I mean c'mon, you don't swoop in and rescue a woman, cyber pull a bullet out of her and say, I won't loose you, I love you too damn much and not mean it. Woohoo! (may not be an exact quote people. It has been a while since I saw it). I love you just too damn much
