too obvious?

Hi everybody.

When I first saw the Matrix I did not really understand what was going on (*admit*) or at least not everything. You know, it's kind of confusing at first and I didn't really concentrate, too. But one thing about Neos name (i mean everybody in here probably noticed that if you rearrange the letters it spells 'one') is dumb. I mean, the whole idea of the movie is so, let's say, different and special and then there is something like that?!

I mean I noticed that pretty soon, as soon as they started talking about the 'ONE' and 'NEO' and I thought that's kind of cheap to do it like that, since everything seems so unreal in the movie. I can't really say what I mean, but I think they shouldn't do that. That makes it less exciting if you notice that early in the movie - why should you think Neo isn't the one, then you don't even need this whole scene at the end where he does all this stuff and shows that he is the one. (Actually, yes you need it, just cause of the special effects :D :D ).

maybe neo is not the one, or perhaps there is more
than one "the one". it is all to be revealed to us in
a few hours.

i read one of the spoilers so i know whats up, it's
actually very interesting and quite intelligent.

i guess i'm pretty dumb though, honestly i never
saw "neo" and "one", just neo being the one. maybe
it's one of those things you know about, but never realize
in your conscious mind (kinda like your subconscious mind
feeds it to you). :rolleyes:

Yeah, like Luc, I never realized the Neo - One thing. In fact, I didn't realize until I read it in this very forum. Its not that obvious and you really can't say that that ruined the whole movie.
