If this topic has been discussed already.... then I guess ya just wasted 2 minutes of your life
Hehe, well here it goes. Recall from M1 when Neo visited the oracle. She said something to him then added, "Not too bright though...". Now fast forward to M2 when Neo, the keymaker, and Morpheus meet up with Smith in the white hall. Smith says something to the effect of "Still using all the muscles except the one that counts the most, Mr. Anderson" to Neo.
Now what's my point? Perhaps this is why Neo could do what he did at the end of the movie. In both movies at some point, it points to Neo not using his brain. Perhaps after his visit with the architect, something clicked on in his head. Perhaps now he just isn't using his physical strength, but mental as well??
There's prolly some holes in what I just stated, as the idea just struck me. But anywho, now's the time where you tell me how stupid this is and that I'm looking too much into it :D .
You might be on to something. It could be possible. Hey its better than some of the stories that have started springing up around the forum, about agents crying, and Neo being the Architect dressed up as the Women in Red in M1.
I have read at least 4 of this ridiculous stories today.
At least you are using parts from the movie to come up with a theory. Thats what we are all trying to do on this forum.
Lol thanks, I've read some of those posts too... they're getting ridiculous.
I don't know what is Smith refering in the second part, but in the first one if you remember is about Neo don't realizing that Trinity has a crush on him, so is just joke. About Smith I think that he like to make him see like not to strong, so he is stronger.
Your partly right about this, from smiths point of view the brain is the muscles that counts the most but there is another muscle that countes even more…The heart!!! I think that from “the source” choosing the other door (for the first time in matrix history) to trinity (love) gave neo the new gained powers. Remember that the brain I useless without the heart…I recommend you to read Rumi’s post “mr. Anderson is dead, now neo most die”
I do realize that the oracle was referring to him not realizing that Trinity likes him, but it may have a deeper meaning (as do so many things in this movie). Then again, it may not. Oh well :( .
As for Smith though, he's definately referring to to something more than just strength. His heart makes sense, as it flows with Neo choosing the right door for his love for Trinity. However, it doesn't make sense in the context Smith uses it in.
This is exactly what Smith says:
Smith: You look surprised to see me again, Mr. Anderson. But that's the difference between us, I've been expecting you.
Neo: What do you want Smith?
Smith: Oh, you haven't figured that out? Still using all the muscles except the one that matters? I want exactly what you want. I want everything.
Here it sounds like he's referring to his brain. If it is his heart... well... sorta sounds like Smith is coming on to Neo then lol.
I'll have to check out that thread you mentioned though. I started to look at it, but it's quite long hehe. May take a while to get through it all.

Well, he doesn't give up trying . but he always ends up being passive LOL :D
I think in the end of M2 he started using his head more, for example; stopping the sentinels. I also think he is trying to take everything in n try to solve it alone. Remember he hardly tells anyone about his dreams, he conversation with the Oracle n the Archiect. That may be his biggest mistake.....

The Matrix fans have 4 to 5 months to dissect and analyse every single dialogue/image of M1/2 and build consistents and plausibles theories. However, the elements of the film are too dubious to indicate the path the WachBros will follow (had followed). Moreover, imho, many of the illations we have read will be revealed pointless, not because they were inconsistents, but because one had considered as a clue or an essential proof a scene or dialogue the WachBros didn´t treat as relevant.
For instance, I've read people say Neo is a computer program/machine, because Tank, in M1 did say "He is a machine" (when he was in training program). Many other scenes contradict this idea ("He is irrevocably human" etc.).
Many others illations seems to be fruit of certain paranoia of matrix fans: 1) Merovingian is the one #5 because of restaurant's name and persephone's assertions; 2) The two parallels lines in Bane´s hand would symbolize Agent Smith and Neo; 3) When Agent Smith tries to contaminate Neo in the park, some code still remains in him (Neo) and that's why he can manipulate the sentinels.
What´s my point? My point is that the solution of the film is not yet possible to be conceived, exclusively with M1/2 and Enter the matrix game. The answer will be entirely in the M3. There will be new elements in the M3 that will consolidate an entire new theory, that will be consistent with most of the elements of M1/2/ETM.
The Matrix fans efforts (and we´ve seen great ideas) will serve to reveal the inconsistencies of WachBros theory, once they we're presented in M3.
My regards,

Exactly, but that's one of the best aspects of the Matrix. The W bros. leave so many little clues, hints, etc. that are left to interpretation. I'd say 1/4 of the enjoyment of the movies/game is coming up with these theories and deciphering what has been seen in the movies, games, etc.
Of course practically this whole site is speculation. All we're doing is exchanging ideas and interpretations until the answers are revealed in November and we find out if we followed the W bros. genious or are totally blown away.
Potis - Lol
Niva - True, Neo is private about those sort of things...
When Smith says "Still using all the muscles except the one that counts the most, Mr. Anderson", he could be referring to the fact that Smith can only do what his programming allows him to, he is still a program and is still bound by those rules. Neo on the other hand has free will and there are infinite choices that he can make in his head that Smith cannot.
I hope that's readable, I've confused myself:o
towards the topic starter, here, there is a hole. When Neo meets the Oracle in m2, the Oracle tells him that he turned out to be alright.
I guess, thats sort of picking up from m1, when she said that neo isnt too bright.
It's quite simple man...since Smith and Oracle say what they said when Neo being a little dense couldn't quite catch onto the obvious, they simply mean his brain ie common sense...can working the muscles in your heart or gaining a higher level of consciousness tell you Trinity loves you or what Smith wants? Overloading Sentinels and figuring out what people think are 2 very different things...you can't understand your girlfriend by mastering how to drive a car... That's jus too obvious...
...but anyway all theories that have at least a decent shred of logic (read:not ridiculous like Smith having a childhood) in them deserve to be brought out and discussed...that's the pt of having a forum daguiar...
sw3despills - Can ya elaborate on what you said and tell me how you got that? I'm not following you...
Phasis_5 - I was under the impression that she said "You turned out all right" because of what he did in the first movie... Choosing between the death of himself or the death of Morpheus, and coming out on top.
Lol, I don't know if I even totally buy this theory yet. The thought just popped into my head yesterday and I figured, what the heck, might as well see what other people think.

What I'm trying to get at is maybe now he's not only using his physical strength, but mental as well, allowing him to stop the sentinels. It's just another reasonable guess at a solution that's gonna blow our mind's away in Revolutions.
View Full Version : Neo - Actually using his brain now?
My girlfriend gets points! - Question
