What if Human's created the Matrix not A.I?

ok - Think of it like this....

Take the 'Terminator' Movies for example. Man against Machine. Endless War- and the only way we can destroy the machines is to destroy it's only power source, the sun.

Now you have destroyed the sun. The problem with this is we (as humans) also rely on the sun to survive - or the core of the earth where it's still warm. Remember the world would still consist of clever people (scientests). Some of these people can't bare to live in the world they have left. Therefore they have created 'The Matrix' a structured living where people could feel like there living there normal lives. Where Nothing is ever real but it feels real ("! think, therefore i am" - Descartes.)

1% of the people reject the idea that reality can be found in computer generated dream world. That leaves 99% of them - at the time accepting it. The problem is that 1% over a period of one hundred years grows. Becomming a 'city' - Zion.

Now people are being enterd into the Matrix without the choice (like they may of had when it was created). It's now the way of life. 'We are born without the choice to live' (just like today) but people want to free them. Creating another war. The people who are in control of the Matrix, who want to protect those still in it - those who appreciate it (such as cypher - as mad as he was he still preferd the Matrix to reality) Against those who want there lives to be reality. (Neo, Morpheus, Trinity - everyone from Zion)

Therefore if you freed everyone from the Matrix - you wold have alot, a very lot of rebelious minds! There would be a war in the 'real world'. People like cypher would opt to re enter the system. So what's the answer kill those who are living in the Matrix?

In conclusion i feel the Matrix was created because the cold harsh reality that is earth - that had been left for humans was to much. And in order for them to survive they required another way of life. Ending the Matrix isn't going to change that! Why not allow people to just live in the real world - because those in the past who created the Matrix believed the world they have created is by far better! Which is why the first Matrix 'A perfect world failed'!

We all know people like to escape from reality. People watch soap opera's, play computer games and go to films just to escape reality for a while. hey, we're even here finding theories for The Matrix to do so.....

And...... The Matrix seems like a save place as long as you believe in it. Zion looks way more depressing. hey. even if I was in the matrix right know I would not want to be pulled out. What i don't know wouldn't harm me , right? Although.......

Interesting hypothesis, but then would that mean that humans are controlling the machines that are keeping their fellow humans in the Matrix? I doubt it. I doubt they would want machines to kill 250,000 of their fellow humans over a world that is far from perfect anyway...

Very interesting theorey, although you dont have a lot of evidence to back it up. Still it is quite good and it makes a lot of sence.

I dont think it makes a lot of sense. It just sounded good, but it cant be. They would not force humans to do something that would affect their lives to the point that they never actually have a real one... On the other hand, machines would...

250,000 compared to the amount that are part of the Matrix, part of there world. I think they would kill them just like Neo etc kill people in the Matrix!

Remember that same amount of people pose a threat to the Matrix. How many people died in the world wars saving something they believed in? (in a far from perfect world)

Maybe that's a point the movie is trying to make. How far would humans go to protect there beliefs?

you have to love films that you can look at in so many ways. How can anyone say the Matrix is a crap film, can they really be thinking when they say it!

Matrix and fightclub have to be the greatest films ever!

My 2cents worth.
I like the theory,, don't LOVE it but it's good, i've also had some thoughts along this line,,, One statement in "second renaisance" from animatrix.. the "historian" or whatever you want to call her...
while she is narratting... she says, "blah blah blah,,,, machine killed a man,,, blah,,, machine killed,,, blah,,,, war,,, blah blah blah,,,, so in the end, man became the architect of his own destiny" sorry for all the "blahs" but it's a long vid,, alot of talking,, but that's the main jist of it..

I believe that this theory is very possible,, given what humans would have been facing at the time and end of the war...
it would also be completely possible and PROBABLE that they would also create a fictional story that maintains the machine as the enemy not other humans...

that quote has bothered me ever since i watched it,, it seems to deliberate....

to make the matrix a story would mean you could predict peoples responses and how they would respond to things.

But you can't. everyone react to situations in there own way. Which neo will prove! I believe in him!

only thing that i meant was a story,, was that it was the machines who enslaved people in the matrix.. not other humans... putting the machines as a scape goat for a governments/countrys actions or whatever.

Anything is possible. neo could be the only one in the Matrix. The only person really Hooked upto it. And he has been made to think he has been set free. but really he is hooked up to a machine in a lab in california which has been created by the goverment to learn about human behavior. And the year really is still 2003!

Everyone he sees is created by his mind!
