Smith theory

smith_fan

Hey,

First of all this theory is taken from http://forums.matrixfans.net/showthread.php?threadid=10957

I think there have already been some rumours about it here but this one has (in my opinion) the best arguments. So, what do you think?
------------------------------------
hopefully no one's posted anything along these lines yet...the ideas suddenly came to me the other day

this is still just a budding theory im not entirely sure is potential for truth, so any feedback is appreciated

What if Smith is a previous One?

You may think this is not true because he is obviously an agent, a sentient program blah blah blah....but think about this course of events

All the previous Ones have gone willingly back to the Source and had their code reinserted back into the matrix. I propose this "code" is mroe or less their powers of being the One. Their consciousness still remains because they must pick the 23 new people to be freed (the consciousness obviously is kept alive by being extracted from the original host body because: A) the conciousness cannot pick those to be freed from the matrix until after it has been rebooted and ergo b) the matrix cannot be rebooted until after zion has been destroyed which means that c)most likely, the One's host body will be destroyed so its conciousness must be kept intact)

still with me?

Now that the machies have the One's original conciousness, i'm sure they could fiddle with it to erase memories and such, but that human "spark" so to say, is still there.

Anyone who's watched M1 has undoubtedly notcied that smith, while still following the agent program, acts a wee bit different than the other agents...perhaps with a bit more...emotion.

The machine had this concioussness of a human being and nowhere to put it (how does one destroy a virtual consiouness? i dont think you can) Therefore, perhaps the machines wanted to try out a new agent program by implementing the conciousness into it so that the agnet could produce emotions...namely anger. There is most likely a way to mute out the other emotions and simply concentrate on the anger.

When Neo jumped into smith, Smith himself says that something got overwritten or copied over.....perhaps it is not Neo's powers directly, but rather the knowledge of being free. This sparked something in the consciosness in smith in the par tof the mind where his bloacked memories of being "the One" were stored.

At this point, Smith gained (or rather gained back) his new powers (cloning as we've seen...and flying as we've seen in the trailers) from when he was originally the One (who's to say the different One's didnt discover different powers they had...for all we know....Neo has the ability to copy people, but just hasnt tapped into it yet)

anyways, i think this is further proven by the fat that smith seems even MORE human in reloaded....especially when he starts talking about the desire to take back from Neo what he took from them. "Desire is irrevlevant...i am a machine" as said in the T3 trailers. Normally, what smith wants is not applicable to his actions, but now it suddenly is, because that "human spark" or conciousness is starting to wake up more and more after Neo was imprinted on smith.

jsut a theory.......i like it because it implies a One vs. One showdown for revolutions.

so mayeb the above has some surprisingly good points in it....or maybe its pure cr@p and im just talking out of my @ss.

either way...i feel smart for thinking of this lol

Wow!! sweet theory!!! and its so obvious! i think youre on to something!

But I don't think they're true.
However, I think that Neo going into Smith was an important chapter in the Matrix saga and will probably resurface in Revolutions. I'm guessing Agent Smith might start co-operating with Neo to beat the system from the inside.
But this also is a baseless hunch so don't take it too seriously.
Have a nice day.

Smith has only been showing extraordinary agent powers since his close encounter with Neo, so sorry, not buying it.
