This is my first post. After reading some rediculous ideas, i was prompted to register and post.
It took me awhile to comprehend the ending, but whatever.
The matrix is constantly testing itself, to achieve perfection. If neo reaches the architect, the matrix is flawed, and they use his code to adjust the matrix. His "purpose" to the machines, is to help them anticipate and code for emotion. The oracle did not give him any power, that is absurd. The oracle is a program designed to study the intangible aspects of humanity.
Now, neo says what the hell is going on at the end. He says the machines can not code for CHOICE, or something to that extent. The past 5 "one's" took the other door. So, the machines use the "one's" for perfection, but yet again, human emotion has kicked in and neo took the door not anticipated. The architect made it sound like the only way neo could save trinity was to take the other door and rebuild zion with selected people (trinity included). however, neo was able to save her the other way, which came unexpected.
the machines allow zion to exist in order to test themselves, as previously mentioned. if the humans can get to the architect, the matrix is flawed.
Now, I suppose the most important question is what is going to happen? Neo seems to have his powers now in the real world, and agent smith has secretly escaped the matrix.
there are 2 ways to take neos new powers. one is that there is a matrix within a matrix. this is why the machines allow zion to exist, it is under their control. the other way to take it is that the prophecy is infact, true, and neo is the ONE.
it is hard to say which one is correct. i personally believe the second option, mainly because of the last words of the architect. He basically says hope is false, or something like that, and more importantly that they will not meet again. running with this theme of "unexpected human emotion," neo is able to again suprise the machines. the idea of a matrix within a matrix is possible. this could be why the machines allow zion to exist, because zion is under their control. but if this were true, that would mean that there is no real human threat at all, which would make no sense. to escape, you need humans on the "outside."
as for smith, he has simply taken over that body. what is real in the matrix, is real to the mind. smith answered the phone, and his code translated into that current mind. he is of course the one who sabotaged, blah blah.
why is neo in a coma? his new power took him by suprise. he was not ready. just like when neo was prepping him to exit the matrix, and to re-enter the matrix, he had to be ready. im sure he will heal, as neo is shown fighting in the preview for Revolutions. I do not believe smith is of any real importance, well at least he is currently not the one causing confusion or much debate.
let me know other factors that influence the the debate between the 2 theories.
to finish, i just have to say that the italian broad is amazing.
