Trinity means three-in-one in biblical terms.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit helps mankind through obstacles in:

Heaven, Earth and Hell

Zion, Neo, and Matrix

I wouldn't read too much into the Trinity name. True it stands for the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; However the Son is the savior and in the world of The Matrix the savior is Neo. So you would have to say that Neo is Trinity and Trintiy is more than Neo.

No, of course not. Neo ultimately has the task to save Zion, but without Trinity's Love he would have not even choose the door he did.

She just has the ingredients to keep Neo on the right track.
Neo cares more about Trinity, than Zion, but he will save Zion, because his love for her, and her love for them.

Jesus cares more about his father more than Earth, but he saved men on earth to show his love for the Father (GOD).
