how long till A.I. takes over,30-50 years??

how long is it till artificial intelligance gets smart enough to fight back?30-50 years?will humanity do anything?:confused: :confused: :confused:

humans will make AI, but keep it under hard control, so i wont be able to figth back ..

First of the choices for the pool are unreallistic. There needs to be more choices rather than 2 and we will not be able to create AI in 50 years or less. We don't have the technoligy. Make a better poll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not many options idd. I would say it's possible (possible mind, I don't say it will happen). But it's gonna take us way longer than 30-50 years to create 'em I think...

what if humans get deep in the human genome project, start taking out various genes and custom making children and becomes dependant on the technology to do so because if a person is born the old fashioned way, they will fall seseptible to diseases and viruses that will kill them, and the machines the perform these genetic surgeries rise up against us, or shut themselves down until we have to be their slaves.....????????

i think humanity and ai will relize that they can succed better together and we will become biocybernetic organizoms like the borg or summit

whos to say that we cant create ai in less that 50 years its not that we dont have the technology its just that no one has figured a real use for it yet so there has been no serious application or designing, it has sunk to the level of something video game makers use to make them more challenging.

I am one of TWO people who thinks that we will never make A.I. since that people are already freaked out by the mere thought of clones...that completely abolished the research and other findings on it...what a waste of life.

I THINK HUMANS WILL MAKE BIGGER AND STRONGER AI NO MATTER WHAT WARNING AND THEY PROBALY WILL REGRET IT BECAUSE THEY WILL THINK THEIR DOING GOOD BUT THEN THEY WILL LOSE CONTROL IF THEY MAKE THEM STRONG ENOUGH AND BE LIKE THE HUMANS THAT MADE THEM CAUSE IF U THINK ABOUT IT THEY ALREADY HAVE MADE AI THE ROBOT IN JAPAN AND THOSE MACHINES THAT DO JOBS BY THEIR SELFS THATS AI AND THE JAPENESE ARE ALOT CLOSER TO MAKING STRONGER AI THAN THE ENGLISH AND AMERICAN ARE AND THAT IS CERTAIN.

Outstanding use of punctuation, and thanx again for shouting your entire post. AI will be created. Regardless of the inherent dangers it will happen. Science has taught us this. And yes, the Japanese have some very nice robots. But they are still a very long way from being AI.

Will the introduction of AI result in a war and mass destruction? Well, that just depends on how far the human race has evolved their thinking by the time it happens. Another variable will be in what order those first machines learn things. But again, this is going to be some time from now. Most of us will be very old or dead I would think.

lets hope we don't abuse AI when it is created. in japan they have already developed some basic forms of AI and honda has even made a robot...

lets just hope they don't go hal 9000 on us... i wouldn't trust any of our governments either. who knows what they're up to. they could be developing AI for weapons. imagine if that happened. a whole bunch of angry robots bent on killing. wait thats what we do right now... we wouldn't need robots for that.

so my point is, AI would probably not take over and destroy us, we would probably end up destroying ourselves before AI would.

it is only a matter of time. i think it will be aanother 100 years until B199ER or wotever his name is kills a man but definately 30-35 years before ai
