Animals/Other living things in the Matrix

Do you think that animals are part of the matrix or plugged in just like humans? It would be a very large program to control all the animals, but I don't see where they would keep their bodies or whether the machines would even need them.

If you remember what the orical said " see those birds.. a program was even made to govern them"

It tocould be taken several ways

I took it as there was a program made to make birds appear where they should. So that the humans would feel more appt to accept the Matrix system. just like the tree... there are no electricity running through tthem or the buildings or the pencils or pens. They are just there because they were a reality befor the Matrix was even built. it also made the martix pretty

that's what i thought, but what the hell's up with that leemur looking thing that they hook up to the construct in "matriculated" from animatrix? either they implanted matrix-comptible hook-ups to its brain, or the animal was born in the matrix. if animals are in the matrix, then it would make more sense to power the machines with something more docile than humans, like cows or something. then the matrix would just need to be a big artificial grass field, with way less kung fu. yeah, if you haven't seen the animatrix, you need to, because its nicety.

I dont think that animals may even exhist anmore. I think that everytime someone sees an animal, it is in the Matrix... If i think about it I have never seen an anmial out of the Matrix. There is no way of telling if there is out of the Matrix. So that might answer some questions above.

But if there are no animals... they are gonna play hell trying to rebuild the whole damn earth after this, i think that the Bros should just have them leave earth at the end cuz, well, who wants to live there now?

Man dont ever have doubt in the W Bros. I know they will have a good ending. And no there inst any other living thing on earth besides humans....That is what we know of anyway. Itl end good. And they wont leave the earth.

i know,, what is up with the lemure thing / monke thing what ever it was. i was talking to my friend about it, wondering what the hell it was being plegged in.

at first i thought the woman at the beginning had captured it in a jar while it was running around in the real world. but it had a plug in its head, so maybe she had just freed it? i don't know, it's just like aeon flux, they have to throw something in there that doesn't make any sense just for fun, like aeon dying at the end of every liquid television episode, just to be alive at the beginning of the next one like nothing happened.

Remember what the Oracle tells Neo something about the birds being programmed, n some other program watches over then. So yea the animals r programs.

but in matriculated that animal has plugs meaning that they is a possibility that there is another area where animals are plugged in

christ, what if all monkeys are actually deformed human babies??? that would mean the first human in space was really long before that russian dude. but it would make you wonder, how could an infant learn to sling its own feces with such accuracy?

Remeber on M1 when the Neo had Deja Vu it was the cat that repeated itself which means that the cat was a program and was repeating itself because a the glitch in the matrix.

ok this is my theory: after the war, and the skies were darkened, billions of species died off because of either their reliance on the sun or some kind of reliance on humans. but like what occured with the extinction level event that erased the dinosaurs, many animals were able to adapt and survive regardless. i think the group of humans living above ground in "matriculated" have the sole purpose of recruiting new, non-human help in the war, whether that means matriculating susceptible machines or stray animals that were able to survive the holocaust. the monkey was probably captured at some point, implanted with an i/o port, and then trained in a construct program. so using the matrix, both humans and machines are able to harness the usefulness of other species, without using force of any kind. the victims instead submit willingly because their consciousness has been converted. that's the theme the episode is trying to convey.

So what animals u think adapted???

Why??? They r all just short stories of the Matrix......

there's too much creative freedom with most of them, it's like star wars books. they expand the universe, but they are inconsistent a lot of the time and don't necessarily reflect the creators idea about the matrix.

I thought the reason for this place is for our questions to be answered about the movies that we did not understand, or try to get a better understanding of it, n at times for the h*ll of it leave our minds run free from our ideas of the matrix. It's just fun n games reading other people's thoughts n ideas, u basically don't have to put an input.

the animatrix can't be disregarded. the intended story can't be understood without it. and there's no doubt that it's official canon, since the brothers wrote the vast majority of the short films, except matriculated of course. they had to get the aeon flux guy for that, the most unintelligible storyteller outside of david lynch. what's weird is matriculated is way easier to understand than aeon flux. at least i think so.

Its the same as earth..there are animals and people...all of them are programmed specifically for each other.

you cannot have one with out the other.. tis the same way with humans and matchines...

My dear 7th Neo. It is a line from the movie a bit modifed. It is basicly saying that the reason why there are animals is because human will not eccept the programming with out them... just as in zion they can not live without them... read ahead a few posts and you shall see wht it means.
