Okay just throwing out some frekaing crazy idea becasue i want to see what type of repsonse it would get
What if Neo was not the one at all. What if Neo was created by the machines as a trick. To make the free people think that they have a savior, and to make morpheous trinity and the gang ithnk they have a purpose. what If the machines created neo as a side track? What if he was thorwn into the equation as a trick, with no answer? I know it is probably crazy non sense but i wanted to throw that out there.

I think that theory is very different. Some people may think it sucks. I however, think it could very well be true. Just think, everyone in Zion puts their trust into Neo, the Oracle becomes right (her first "false" prediction about Neo not being the one), and everyone in Zion dies, except the people left on the ships. End of trilogy. It'd be a crappy ending, but it would lead into the new game, where everyone has to continue the war without all the people who were in Zion.

Could very well happen. Cause remeber, hope is the root of the greatest strength and weakness of humans. So if the people of Zion HOPE that neow ould be the savior, once they found out that he is not, there would be NO HOPE left.

that is what i am thinking exactly, take away hope and the humans have nothing to live for, why would they work if they had no hope, how would they produce energy if they had no work. the machines would be done. If u know the story of that greek god with the box, i forget her name it began with a p. but any way she let all the diseases in the world out but trapped hope, and that hope agve everybody something to live for~~Greek Myth (panthione's box?)
What would give you the reason to believe that Neo isn't the one? If he can beat about 50 Smiths (Reloaded) and stop bullets and make them drop to the ground... Well that just tells you that the kid either is the one or has some rare skills that not many people can brag about having.
Well the kid pulled himself out of the matrix, which could very well mean HE is the one.

Neo's the One. Trinity revived him, the Oracle said she would. The "one" is part of the system that serves a purpose higher than energy source. Read up on my posted theories in "Seven deadly Sins in the Matrix". It will explain a bunch.

Yeah good thoughts, but (yeah I'm going to play devils advocate :p ) we were told in Reloaded only the One could open the door that leads to the architect. If Neo isn't the One, then how would he have been able to open that door in the first place? Also, we are told the One is born in the matrix (according to the prophecy). Now if Popper would be the one, when was he ever born in the Matrix? Ok he got himself out, but we never got any hint he was (re)born in the Matrix. Which is something we do know for sure about Neo, he comes back to life after he got killed by Smith at the end of M1.
can't work. I think they wouldn't give him so much power that he can destroy all Smiths and the whole Matrix. Can't work. I don't wnat to say so much because the whole thing is explained by some postings before.
