I percieve this chapter of the forums as the deeper, more intellectual, and analytical part. It seems to draw more of the, well, deep thinkers, and not as many, for lack of a better term "cool shooting scene" lovers(although the Matrix did have its cool shooting scenes:D ). I am amazed and thoroughly impressed at the intellectual level of people, in comparison to alot of other forums I've been on. Now I now I'm sounding a great deal like a nerd at the moment, but I'm really not. I'm just very well spoken, and wanted to say that it's nice to have some intellectual conversations with people about an awesome action movie we all love!
Xehirut

If your willing to talk about high IQ's you might want to inquire about everyones destined majors in college.. I've found people who can readly understand the matrix are insanely smart people..

I myself, will be majoring with a PHD in Metorology and a subminor of Theoretical Physics.

I'm only 22. :) I have about 10 years left of school, as soon as I can afford it. :)
Sigma

Pretty cool. I'm only in high school, but I love deep topics, and I love certain sci-fi(Star Wars,Lord of the Rings). I plan on enrolling in the fire academy when I'm out of hs, and letting them put me through college. I'll prolly major in entreprenuership and start a store of some kind. People get impressed when I tell them all that, but you all prolly don't care, so I'll quit typing now.:p
WildCard

No, it's cool that you noticed that. I was thinking of suggesting we open a highly technical forum, where it would be open to only theoretical talk with good english.

When you have the good posts, it really makes you notice the bad threads that much more. :)

That would be very nice. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "highly technical", but I'd sure like to learn some about DOS and BASIC and whatnot. I get the feeling it will become more and more prominent in the movies, and I plan to be taking a computer programming class in school, but that won't be for another couple years. It would be neat to learn a bit about those different things in a casual and Matrix-esque setting. I'd support you 100% if you decide to petition the higher-ups around here, whomever they might be, WC. Keep me posted! :)

welcome to the real

I think that would be a wonderful idea to have a forum like that,
however be kind to the newbies for we were once like them and I personally treated badly for asking stupid questions, or so they thought. But how do we truly learn without asking.
WildCard

You were treated rude here for asking a 'dumb' question? I have yet to see anyone really bash on anyone's question unless it was very misspelled, typo'd, bad grammar'd. Others have been answered by everyone kindly.

As for 'highly technical', I mean a board where it could be talked about the deeper, super technical issues or questions about the matrix, theories, metaphysical and philosophical questions or points.

What he said. I'm a newbie myself, or at least thats what it says under my user name:p I don't mean to have a newb-free forum, just one that doesn't constantly talk about "blowin' stuff up". These forums are by far the best I've seen. I have yet to venture into the other ones; I chose this one because it had a low post count and sounded better. So far, everyone has been very helpful and kind. I have yet to make a name for myself and earn the admiration of others, but I also have yet to be treated as anything but an equal around here. I value that kind of thing highly. I'm a real people person, and like to have friends wherever I go. I appreciate WC posting on my topic, and have gotten to know him fairly well already. I think I'll stick to this forum unless I have reason to move on. I really need to stop rambling, I'm sure you guys don't want to hear all this........
[TLG]Delphi

Sure we want to hear this ;)! It's good that we are clear about this one. I found my 'thing' here too. The only bad thing is that it ain't Dutch :P. But on the other hand my english will improve a lot thanks to this site (so please report any misspellings :D).
Sigma

Good to hear, sorry, and will do!
Marc413

This board is great, I have enjoyed the conversations very much so. I am an extremely busy person and it has been very hard just keeping up with my thread, I hope to spend more time browsing the other threads and conversing in there...but people are polite, thoughtful and inquisitive!

As far as grammar, be nice to me, ok? The only languages that I speak fluently are Java, C++, C#, and...Math. English is kind of my second language and then German is 3rd...that I am forced to use around other people ;-)

About myself? By day I am a full-time undergraduate triple major: Computer Science, Actuarial Science & Math. By night I work full-time as a software developer.

I don't think it matters what your level of knowledge is. The way people think is what is interesting to me and that is how I derive enjoyment from conversations. Yeah, I over-analyze *everything* :-)

You're doing alright so far, Marc. Sounds like you'll be a good addition to the little group I seem to have collaborated. Welcome to my forum...........:)

Welcome to the real

Guys I want to clear ONE thing up. I have never been treated badly on this site. Sorry if I offended anyone.

I was offended on a progammers room because i felt sorry for someone who couldn't complete their assignment on time.

Thanks to everyone here, you are all greatxxxxxxxxxxxxx:o

:)
A Freed Mind

Hello All,

Just wanted to say what a great forum this is and to thank everyone for helping make it. The Matrix is A very philosophical and conceptual movie that shouldnt be taken lightly, alot can be said just by looking at the conflict, Machines Vs. Humanity. I kinda think that the Machines represent the ever present and controlling government. Or maybe there is a plain messge (or warning) inside the movie. Maybe indeed we re slaves to machinery...we wil never know will we???? well keep looking for the truth and keep the posts coming :D
funkyhorror

indeed this forum is a very good one, everyone is nice and it's a fun place to be. The more members we attract the harder it is to keep up with posts but i'm getting there:). It's also good that the forum provides conversations on all types of levels. Intellectual conversations are alot more interesting then your simple coversations. It's also good because we learn alot from each other and hear other concepts and things we probably wouldn't have thought of by ourselves.

on the education side of things, i'm one of those youngins who will be out of high school soon and has no idea what they wanna do with their life:confused: well not so much what, but how to go about it...
Sigma

Welcome to my thread, Freed Mind, and good to hear you like it, funkyhorror. I think why this forum attracts people like us because it's kind of like a backwater town, if you will. Not much on the outside, but full of creamy goodness on the inside...........................Great. I've made myself hungry again. Till next time, boys and girls!
