I think that machines will take over. We are advancing so fast in computer technology. That we will make robots. And then some mad scientist will make one that can kill like for the military or something than they will mass produce them and there will be a glich and they will kill inocent humans. And I think you know what would happen from there. Something like that will happen. Im pretty sure of it.

that is basically what happens in the animatrix : second renniassance parts 1 & 2.

in that story the "evil robot" (B1-44) kills its owners because they had the right to destroy it and it wanted to live. The rulers of man decided to massacre of B1-44 and all of his kind.

the robots and robot supporters flooded the streets in protest but the rulers of man did not want to deal with robots anymore.

The surviving robots formed the nation of 01 and man dropped nuclear bombs on it but the robots survived without the threat of radiation.

the Machines of 01 then went out in all directions overtaking the cities of man.

Yeah...that might just happen....

our technology has advanced over the years...And I saw a show on Androids and Robots...they had a robot on there that they programed to learn things, sort of like a baby....I was having flashes of the second renniassance parts 1 & 2 in my head when I saw that...

But what if...I'm just saying what if...there are more smarter robots out there? and the ones on the show where a cover up...just a thought....

Yeah what if the goverment already has them for war but there hasn't been a war bad enough that we need them for. They have so much secret stuff. I havent seen the animatrix is it good.

Yes, the animatrix is good, and the government probably isnt THAT advanced yet with it, but close, because if the government can buy a killing machine, why dont they make and mass produce maids...

Yes they arent that advanced yet. But I think its only A matter of time.

yep, maybe the AI watch Matrix and think: "Oh, that's cool! Let's try it out, maybe it works!" :p

U should start worrying a lot more about the private sector...like all those companies out in Arizona burning a billion dollars a year to develop practicle nano-tech.

Thats the true mechanical threat...not AI.

Matrix... I would rather worry about those who really spend billions of dollar for research how we can be influenced or even controlled.

Back to topic, im sure that at some point tru AI will be created, but its a long time away. There are too many technological problems that cant currently be solved. Do I think it will freak out and wipe out the human race? Nah...thats not a logical course of action, assuming we dont give it a good reason.

and concerning AI: remember that piece of metal forcing R2 D2 to the will of its owner? I don't think that AI creators would create them without that famous red button, that kind of "veto" in their actions, to control them.

I don't think the machines will be able to advance and defend themselves by the time humans turn against them.

Well, it just depends on which system would become self-aware first. Logically, it would be a system that was used as a vast network...basically like the movie. And without advanced planning and some sort of anticipation to implement a kill switch, then the machine could strike, and do so with no warning.

another thing, when we give robots AI, will the intelligent robots create more robots without AI??? Like robot zombies...
