What is the universe and where and when did it start?
way too many scientist see to be convinced that it started out as some beach ball sized thing of super condensed matter.
it'll be interesting to see the replies for this!
thats a question nobody can answer as the truth n we will probably never know the answer to that.. id just say some force beyond anything we know of came along n just built it..whatever he/she wanted to be there was there..thats all i can basically think of.
well, as i learned from gg 105 "voyage thru the solar system" (a class that was sooooo boring...), the universe was created like 10 billion years ago (if i remember correctly). don't know how the universe was actually created (see how well i payed attention in class? lol). there are a couple of theories on how the moon was created that i can tell ya... but i won't, unless someone actually would like to know.
forgot to tell ya'll that i got a C in the class... it wasn't hard, just really really boring. so boring that i didn't pay attention in class (well, that is, when i went to class) and i didn't study hard for the tests/midterms. i put my time into my other classes. by the way, i'm a sophomore at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
TRULY ITS WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO BELIVE THAT IT IS AND IS NOT.
i got something to say what was the universe made of who created that scientists cant answer that
I think that the universe is just a big petri dish for some science experment somewhere. That would make us equivalent to really smart amoebas.
The universe is just the physical construct of itself. And it is ever expanding. It covers 4 dimensions, 3 physical and time being the 4th.
personally I think all things exist on a different plane of time it's like a river leading to the water fall (death) flies happen to be a few few from the edge only living a single day or so but great red wood trees about a 1oo miles upstream living up to a thousand years or more. but all things have to go down the waterfall eventually even the great red woods.

The universe was created by our mind. There is a universe for every person on this planet, and if you escape it, it will be the greatest experience for you.
God damn this is old, my how things have changed.
0Silence1 I want to slap you for reminding me of how stupid I was then. hah
The universe is way too big for anyone to know what it is.
But I'll say this. The universe is way too big for us to be thee sole inhabitants of the universe. No way. Anybody here believe in life on other planets??
I do. We can't be the only intelligent life now, can we?
Nope.
Aliens hafta exist. I seen a UFO with my own 2 eyes way back when.
I do think the odds of us being the only planet with life on it extremely slim. However assuming the life on other planets are similar to us, they would require quite a lot, a good balance of hot and cold, and atmosphere, and a water like substance, if they are not like us in those ways then odds are our comming together may not happen since we'll probably try and terroform the planet destroying them all.
Also i doubt there are superior aliens out there like on movie, when are we going to be superior?
Never.
Humans don't get along on a larger scale (I could've worded that better but, whatever, you know what I mean). We will be our own eventual demise. The only time I ever seen people come together where they weren't doin' things that were harming society was right after 9/11 in New York City. Crime on all levels drastically dropped. It takes the 9/11 attacks to bring people together, somewhat, and make them not wanna do bad things to each other and shit like that. Pshh...
Like the Matrix. The unplugged humans were all united because they were being attacked from the outside of what they were use to.
I could've made this better but Its late and I'm tired, if no one respnds soon enough I'll come back and edit this and make it sound a whole lot better.
But we'll never be superior. Never.
Eon posted something there about "Monkeysphere" that I read before. A somewhat humourous article that kinda helps my arguement here...
Sorta.
Actually this sounds fine. I'm not changin' nothin'.

I love the irony. (only messing).
Back on topic. Why do people say that we will kill ourselves, and that humanity sucks. I personally like humanity quite a bit. I think that it was not the violence that caused the people of new york unite, but the fact that they all had a common goal and and that they all felt hit by the attack, as a city. If all humanity can be united under a common goal, then we might not be so messed up. And as for life on other planets, most definately, though not neccessarily in this galaxy, cos there are millions out there. The fact that people can be so close minded really annoys me.
*EDIT* Fixed the quotes a bit.
