i never thought of this... (so i won't take credit for it;) ), someone from another forum i post on had this to say about the game (www.thematrixonline.com) which will be released in 2004:
"It implies that the Matrix will survive after the third movie, that Neo will not completely overcome the machines, and all will be, in the words of Talking Heads, "same as it ever was"

Heard about that ... i just hope the ending is still good enuff to compliment the plot and the film (even if he cant destroy the Matrix) .. that game will rock though and by that time i'll have Broadband with a bang:cool:

Even if the matrix exists, we don't know if it will be because Neo fails to destroy the MAtrix or that he needs to maintain it for some reason, so as far as spoilers go, its nothing too big
lets hope the movie wont end like that..............
I don't think it just goes back to how it was before. I mean, they have to explain 100,000's of people now being freed (loging in to the game). I think that the matrix will survive, but many many more people are going to be freed over time. The matrix can probably only be destroyed from the inside.
Remember what Neo said at the end of M1 - I didn't come here to tell you how it ends, I came to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. A world with out limits yadda yadda... this is from memory forgive my misquote.
Basically, many more rebels against the Matrix - assuming the matrix online is telling the truth.
