this is just a movie, another blockbuster to make money, then get rich, eat, eat, eat and be a friend of a toilet for a while. and when the first movie is getting old they are making another to eat again. they are greedy sons of *****es, they make money becouse people are so into movies, why are you making such a big deal out of this movie??? think of millions other movies, million times better then this. who the hell are wachovski brothers? can you take them near Milos Forman, or Frances Ford Coppola. they are just nice minded people to make dumb minded people like you wonder for a century, "what is the matrix? who is the matrix? just shut the hell up and go back to your lives, and make money like matrix makers do. any of you dumb people want to reply to me, do so, I don't mind, be sure if you want to make fun of me, I'll make twice fun of you later, so better not. Well, if it's just a crappy movie made by second rate producers - what brought you to this website to make 6 posts about it?

The fact is that this movie is a 4 year old classic, made by 2 guys that really struck a chord with a lot of people.

Don't like it, like it, whatever. I can't control that. I can control your behavior here though. Tone it down one notch and debate intelligently why you think the movie is just any movie.

Thanks for posting though. I am sure a few people out there will agree with you. Be prepared for a majority here not though.

you know, I have a question to you, why do you think this movie is special? or Classic:D ? Just go to blockbuster or somewhere else and rent the movie, not just any movie European, for example. and you will see why it is a classic. The matrix is one of the films that spoiled the movie industry in United States, and now spoiling the world. there is no movie industry any more, there is just a big money making indutry, which makes movies like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, THE MATRIX, spider man etc, etc. I'm sure you can agree with me too, and if you don't then I can tell you that you don't know squat, and It;s not just my opinion.

P.S. you know, this money making industry spoiled me too, and I can't say that the matrix is bad or spider man is bad, and you know why? becouse I wasn't born at the time when movie industry really began, and people made really good money, and didn't think of how much money they would make, and should they make a sequal or not.

The movie industry has always had profit as a motive. I want them to profit by God. Profit begets other ventures that potentially create more profit.

I feel I can say that this movie is safely a classic given the following it has. It crosses most demographics whether age or sex.

I won't debate you on the spoiling us. The film industry has made us very fickle and demanding of quality entertainment. Maybe it's not your style of entertainment. You aren't in the majority, especially here. Bad movies come out and no one cares or they care for a weekend and then they vanish, destined to jet to video.

The market speaks. I really am not sure what your point is.

this movie is "special" or "classic" because it set a new
standard for visual effects. every scifi (and quite a few
non-scifi) movies now try to mimic what the Matrix first
showed a few years ago.

it also happened to have a very good PLOT, which is
uncommon in today's movies.

it just happens that good movies made good money,
so i fail to see what your problem is with this particular
title. the people who put this movie together
have dedicated a lot of brainpower and money, so
isn't it fair that they get it back?

what was so special about the Godfather Trilogy? Or the
Terminators? (#3 is coming out in a few months). These
movies amazed us with their uniqueness.

To you the Matrix is just another movie, but learn to respect
other people's opinions and feelings towards it.

look, this is a forum, and people write their opinions. So I don't really care what your opinion is and I write mine. I don't have a point it's just my OPINION. I didn't write this for you to understand, I just have my own point, and don't start guessing what my point is and go back to figuring out what matrix is. I just read your opinion and if I like it, well, I like it if not, it's my business, and I'm not trying to get your point. But I still think that this is just a movie, like just a toilet or just a TV etc. and people should just watch it and not make a huge deal out of it.

and about movies imitating matrix, you can go to school or at work, with pants with you're granny naked on it, and then everyone will start imitating, and you like, but I don't think it makes you special.

and about good movies making good money, that's exactly my point, good movies don't make good money. for example let's take 2002 movies, "city by the sea" was in theatres only 2 weeks, why? because it was a complete failure, let's take "Road to perdition", "My big fat greek wedding", "Catch me if you can", "Simone". If you ask me, those were the best movies of the year, but they were in theatres no longer then 2 weeks. And I'm sure X2, x-men united, will be in theatres 2 years, so, now do you get my point?

you know why people are obsessed with the "Matrix"? Because it intrests them! If you find something intresting dont you want to learn more about it? And your comparison with the "Matrix" and TV, if you find TV's intresting you might make a job out of fixing them because you are fascinated in how they work. Just because people like something alot doesn't mean its wrong or you shouldn't like it. What about baseball fans or nascar fans? Some of them are obsessed but it doesnt bother me. The people here in this forum really like the "Matrix" and that is why we have this site, so we can talk about it. You know how many sports sites, electronic sites, video game sites, etc... are out there? ALOT!!! And all of those sites are there because they provide infomation,answers to questions,etc... for people who like those things. So anyway your opinion is your opinion and mine is mine, but dont insult people because they like something.

Market forces design how long a movie stays in the theater and how well it makes money. Marketing plays too, but not totally.

Why knock on how well a movie is doing just because your artsy movie you liked didn't?

There is always somebody willing to knock people who are succesful. I bet jaba is one of those people who will stop supporting a band once it gets popular, who would have been much happier if The Matrix didnt get the acclaim it ended up getting(deservedly).

If you say it is just a movie .. then you are right it is just a movie but it is a movie than allowls people to use their imagination , a chance to like something, an chance to watch for pleasure. So yeah it is just a movie, but also a movie with style!

I liked the movie, as a matter effect it's one of the best movies I've ever seen. and yes it uses people's imaginations, but I repeat There is no need to make such a big ******* deal out of it ,That's all I'm saying, I may be wrong, but not for me, I believe that I'm right, and I also believe that the movie should not become such a big part of your life, there are many other things too. You know are entitled to your opinion about this movie as well as any other but if this movie werent a good one then why has it been the talk of the season? Why is it so many makers of other films have followed in its footsteps with same style fight scenes? Why is it so many movie houses are showing a late night special viewing? In my local town of about 30,000 we have a Cinema 6... they are going to be airing the M2 at 10 pm on the 14th on all 6 screens! So, think what you want to but I can tell you this much you are fighting a losing battle here!

Actually no, this is a fairly rural community! lol A lot of farming done here and factories and no not even close to a military base! Yes there is a college but not one that you could consider huge by any means, my guess is they have been bombarded with requests for an early showing! But I can tell you this much I will BE THERE! lol

Matrix Fan Club". All we do here is talk about Matrix
because that's what this forum is all about. We
don't talk about Xmen, or Star Wars or other crap. If you
want to talk about that take your threads to the Lounge or
to the official forums.

All of your posts so far are directed at criticizing our members
for liking the Matrix to the degree where they're active in
this community. It is a BIG deal, to us, so stop saying
the same thing over and over, you've made your POINT in
the 4 threads you’ve started on this subject.

Like I said before, I hate to say this, but if you came here
to convince us that we shouldn't give two craps about the
Matrix, or that we're all fools for liking this movie and
creating a community to share our thoughts then pack your
**** and leave.

As for your last comment, why do you think movies like the Matrix are spoiling the movie industry?

1) the movie has great actors
2) the movie has great plotline
3) the movie has great visuals
4) the movie spans all demographics - male/female, young/old.
5) the movie has a mainstream cultlike following.

I am sorry if movies like 'the Pianist', or 'Big Fat Greek Wedding' didn't have the same draw. Maybe it's a marketing problem, maybe the movies stink. Who knows?

What I do know is I am a Matrix fan, this is our group of Matrix fans, you are in our Matrix and you aren't going to unplug me from this reality. :)

PEOPLE that decide to go to sites and ***** people out will always amaze me. If the Matrix doesn't mean anything to you, why not leave people to whom it means very much alone and continue on with your life?
