Joshua Well, Neo lived alone, and didn't seem to have many friends, and didn't discuss his family. Maybe so few people would have noticed him being gone that it would have gone unnoticed altogether. His boss probably fired him when he didn't show up to work again, and nevar gave it a second thought. Because Morpheus and Trinity have been out of the matrix for a while. And Neo knew who Trinity and Morpheus where before he found out about the matrix in m1. This is a great point. I have thought about it before too. I think we can speculate all we want but the truth is there is no good explanation in the Matrix films. It is truly a point they left untouched and if you think about it maybe its a good thing. It is the memories of the individuals who are "freed" that are erased in minds of friends, family, co-workers etc. This means that the friends etc. "never" knew the "freed" mind - otherwise I would like to experience Neo stumble into his old highschool sweetheart :p Potential What exactly happens after you take the pill? Ok, it disrupts your signal so they (your rescuers) can pinpoint your location. You become aware, and break out of your pod (like what Neo did in M1). Now here's where I lose my grip: a robot comes up, looks you over and then releases you into the sewers? Am i correct in saying that since you're "aware", they cannot re-insert you into the matrix and are therefore forced to release you? So then why doesn't the robot just kill you, instead of releasing you so you can join the resistance? I would've thought robots (being super intelligent) could set an easy trap like that...and shoot down the ship that comes to pick up the newly-freed mind. Just a thought from me...
