Animatrix

Can someone please clear up for me what are the animatrix and when and how should they be seen opr considered as part of The Trilogy?

The animatrix are short stories about the matrix. I have it,all the stories are really good. The brothers got them made to give you more information on how the matrix started, and to tell you stories that happened in the matrix. You should get it!

The animatrix are short animated stories about the world created by the W bros. I think three or four of them were written by the brothers themselves and the rest were made up, but you should only consider the ones that were written by the bros as part of the trilogy. I'm not sure which were written by them, but I think the two renaissance something or other stories and "kid's story" were.
Should you see them?
Probably. I haven't seen them myself, but I plan to. They're supposed to be really cool.

The second rennaisence ones take place at the very begging of the matrix and explain how it started. The final flight of osiris is just before reloaded and I'm not sure about the other ones.

I watched the Animatrix, and it sucks. Only some of the short movies are worth watching:
1.Kid's story - The story about the anoying kid in Reloaded.
2.Final flight of the Osiris - The story about the hovercraft "Osiris".
3.Second rainsense(sp?) Part 1 & 2 - Story about how and why the matrix was created.
4.Matriculated - Story about humans teaching Machines.

You could also take it out on DVD. You can get it at most video stores if u would like to.

the animatrix are 9 short movies. that explain something about the matrix (some before the matrix, some between m1 and reloaded and some are just made up)

the first 4 are written by the brothers them selfs.

This is how the Animatrix connects with the trilogy. The Final Flight of The Osiris take place six months after the first matrix film, and it sets up the story line for Enter the Matrix and ETM sets up Reloaded. As far as the other films, I don't think they are ment to be viewed as part of the trilogy but are actually just stories to be enjoyed on their own.

yes the last 5 were made by directors that were allowed to make there own story on how they see the matrix
