Why is Neo attractive?!

A bit off topic:
I love Trinity because she has character and guts. She kicks-ass but is still warm and tender. She stands up for herself, and offers comfort to others. Of course she is also good looking :)

But Neo; To me he is a very boring character. He has no humour, he is not philosophical or very intelligent, most of the time he is either very confused or totally lost. He DOES fight like a god though! But all in all he seems like a very 1-dimensional guy - I just can't see what is so attractive about him...

I mean Merovingian, Smith, Morpheus etc... all have more character, passion and wit than little Neo...

Ok, I've opened up for striking comments from you girls here now, so let me have it (guys can comment too of course) :)

I think that his personallity is supposed to be so '1 dimentional' because he is the one, and also all the other characters have better personalities because they understand the matrix and they are wiser.

Certainly Neo6th, I too think Neo is just they way the brothers wanted him to be, but I am still wondering why the girls like a guy like that...:)

I disagree, liondale, I think Neo is a diverce character trying to keep his emotions in check while he's with trinity in the matrix, and when he is with the architect he's very serious yet confused.

Besides, how can you say that when he was so tender with trin in Zion?

As far as I can tell, it ain't the character - it's the actor!

Check out K. Reeves other films. The only character with any real
personality was in Bill & Ted. All the others he's played have
been broody or psycho!

I'd have to agree, he must have a very hard time keeping his distance from trinity when they are in the matrix. He needs to have a lot of control over his emotions. Also, for someone who has the fate of the entire human race in his hands, he can keep his cool if you ask me. If it were me, I'd be running around like a mad chicken.

lol, who ever said Neo was attractive? In fact, I thought the love scene was disgusting. 2 less-than eye-candy actors getting it on...ooof! Thank God the dance scene provided a distraction :)

Neo is trying to focus, thats why i believe he is so one dimetional, as the one he has a very serious mind and is only occupied with saving humanity, would you have a sense of humor if such a burden was placed upon you.....

I could go on but I was trying to make a point that everyone seems to agree the character is one demensional, I think there is a much simpler explaination(dont get me wrong I love the matrix as much as anyone) but Keanu can't act and can only protray a one demensional character.

Well, someone tell him there is no need to hold back anything anymore then... He is already the One, the hope of thousands, worshiped as a saviour and God, he can fly, dodge/stop bullets and defeat agents with one hand, his girlfriend probably the most wanted bachelorette on this side of Zion - his actions could not possibly get him more respect at this moment - so any glimpse of intellect would be highly anticipated and welcome :)

is because he is mysterious in the matrix and that makes him attractive.... plus when he isnt in the matrix he is still hot! like, here i am the person who is supposed to save the world, that makes him sort of vunarable in a wierd way but its just that superhero type thing, they just have sex appeal!

if i was a girl........i would still go for trinity
