Archangel Why do all the new people ask all the questions that we did before. Just because they're too lazy to actually look down and see the discussions that were held only 4-5 days ago? Atari 'Tis a shame, to be sure. Terikan we need a FAQ. Maybe one of the mods could make one and sticky it and we could add to it over time! Atari ^^^^^^^^ A good idea Archangel Great idea.... /me prods someone in North America (and who therefore doesn't have to go to bed :p) to write a nice FAQ for the new people. :D I'll start writing one tomorrow, otherwise. /me tickles a mod, would you sticky such a FAQ? CraHan I second that... I'm getting tired of pointing out the newbies to things that have already been discussed at length in other threads. Atari ..........and just so I can be a grammar bastard......... It's Repetitiveness. JakeNewman I'm all for this as long as it doesn't become like some forums out there where as soon as a newbie asks a question the automatic response is a flame war where the newbie is instructed to search through hundreds and hundreds of redundant threads to find the answer to a vague question. It is also worth noting that it is sometimes good to reopen discussion on a topic even if it does follow the same lines as a previous thread, just in case somebody does raise a new and interesting point. I suggest a locked sticky thread (except for mods of course) that contains core facts and faqs. Jake Archangel Repetitivity sounds waaaaaaaayyyyyy cooler than Repetitiveness. :D (I knew, you silly old computer platform :p) flanish give em a break some of those new people are new Archangel Well, the rest of us (I hope) don't, so if you could please stop, it'd be greatly appreciated. JakeNewman Then you won't mind me flaming you, you ****ing pain in the *** ****. Have you seen a doctor about your compulsive swearing? Archangel C'mon, JakeNewman, don't let him drag you down to his level.... Oh, and Bump! so that Xehirut will hopefully notice and read the thread :p CraHan I don't mind new people (I hate that newbie word) posting on this board, we all were like that once. But just doing a search and commenting a bit on threads before posting a new one yourself might be a good idea. Just trying to put forward some constructive tips :) Xehirut Originally posted by Archangel C'mon, JakeNewman, don't let him drag you down to his level.... Oh, and Bump! so that Xehirut will hopefully notice and read the thread :p I've taken notice.... Theres a slight problem here folks though... Repetitivity is what keeps this site alive, if it wasn't for the new people posting the same threads over and over again, we wouldn't have much of a board to answer questions and theorize answers on now would we? And the other problem is.. with a FAQ, we'd have so many different answers for cetian questions, The FAQ would be tons and tons of pages long.. We already do have this : FAQ (http://www.matrixreloaded.com/misc.php?s=&action=faq) though.. That might solve some of your problems. :) Neo6th I agree. I've seen a question asked at least 5 times. UT yes I second that. And being Xehiruts' glorified dictionary (that's when I'm awke ehhheem) who cares how you spell whatever. Alot of people don't have a Batchelor of English Degree (did I spell that right I'm too tired) as long as they get their views and opinions over. I like diverse spelling here here. If you don't like it just ignor them.... View Full Version : Repetitivity |
