I've heard a few things about Keanu lately that really show what a cool guy he is, very not Hollywood typical, not greedy and money hungry.
1) Keanu signed away a bunch of his future residuals to the team that created the special effects.
2) Keanu bought 12 Harley cycles for the stunt double team.
This guy is really down to earth by the sounds of it. By giving away his residuals to the guys and gals making the special effects, that just guaranteed that they will kick butt even more.

But he seemes cool, just look at the interview about M2....
I am against Keanew. I tolerate him in the matrix, but I am so appauled at his performance in Much ado about nothing, that I can't even think of a good thing to say aobu t it here.
i think he rocks, but you can't really say that he is a "down to earth" kinda guy if you don't know him personally... he might have bought those motorcycles to suck up to someone (no way implying he did) or something along those lines... :)
I think it's safe for me to say what I said. The guy plays in a band and will often pass up work to work in the band. He bought the harley's as reward for the hard work and broken bones the stunt crew took on. Giving away his residuals to the people most responsible for making us in awe of the special effects, thereby rewarding them to make even better effects - that's a stroke of genius!

I remember reading an interview about him in Vanity Fair a few years ago...he seemed like a really cool guy, really down to earth...he was so casual about the interview, and when the reporter told him about people that claimed they found his diseased liver (who knows where that came from!?!?) he totally just laughed it off....I almost went to go see him play in his band, but they were too far away. I think he's a pretty good actor; if I ever met him, I'd be like: "NEO come SAVE ME!!!" :D I defended him on some sites that called him the "Anti-Christ" and "The Devil's Son", just because at one point he had a goatee :p Some people eh?
But I do agree with most about his performances in other movies...they weren't as amazing as I thought they would be...like in the lil Bouddha, I wasn't very moved...
well, we will always have Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. :D

Another thing I heard about Keanu is that because he doesn't fight for as much money as he could get from the movies he's in - the film studios have been more willing to go with his ideas in running with less known, more artsy, less profitable movies.
kind of neat case of one hand washing the other.
