Yes, it's the truth that the love of the movie Matrix crosses most age groups, both sexes.

I am surprised that women like Matrix given the violence, but i think women are generally more deep than guys are, so I am thinking that appeals to the women.

and of course, M1 wouldn't have been M1 without Trinity to save the day by giving Neo his kiss.

The ideal age is 19. At least that was my favorite year. I think I may go back there when I'm older.

The Matrix is great because of it's grand plot, action scenes above imagination and true love. What do you want more?

I do think thematically, the matrix appeals to younger people (under 30) MORE than it appeals to those over 30.

I also think the propensity for people under 30 to hang on internet discussion boards and TALK about the movie is much higher than for people over 30.

Just my.02 on the age issue.

Which would probably be an issue for older people would be the new technology action scenes.

This isn't a must-see for most older people because, well, some of them can't even work a computer, and now for them to sit through a movie where a superadvanced computer system has enslaved all of mankind? Not to mention the second Matrix basically a see-for-answers-&-action movie.

I have a similar view about The Matrix 'cause while you are young, you like to find out and explore things deeper (normally), that are life oriented. So therefore younger people try to answer the ongoing question of "What is the meaning of life?" (The first question asked at university for philosiphy I think).

BTW, I'm new here so hi :)

I'm also slightly younger than the age limit but it doesn't matter too much as I can ignore the stuff that doesn't really need to be in a plot (like constant swearing lol).

It's not that bad....

At my Univirsity almost every professor told us (the newborn students) on our first day, that we should NOT come here to find the answer to the question "What is the meaning of life?", since we want find the answer and well, it leads to not much good. What kind of philosophers are they??? Good ones!

I might take it, but I want to do I.T (programming or hardware) and science (not sure which type yet).

I want to go into the sciences, biology, veterinarian :) I love animals, and I love helping everybody, therefore I think it works :D

Nice to know what people like doing, as long as it's pretty sane. Although I like to see things burn/explode, but not light them up, but maybe detonate them. :D lol

Yeah, probably :) I think I'm going to do chemistry anyway, but making things explode or looking at burning magnesium is quite fun. (I think so anyway lol)

I don't always watch lots of action films with explosions in all the time. I just like watching some of the good ones. (James Bond etc.).

It's not as if I watch them every day though. Probably don't watch films that often. :p

I agree with you The Genius, burning magnesium looks really cool.....and so does (I can't remember the name of the element) with pure water...lol I loved my chem class last semester :)

I think you're either talking about potasium or sodium. It goes round the bowl of water like mad, which is cool :D

Yeah! It was potasium :) We learned about all the rest of the alkali metals that class too...thank God for science classes...they seem so worthwile compared to Math or religion (not to say that religion is unimportant, I go to church, but I believe we should learn about God through church and by the bible, not through school even if it is Catholic)
Another thing I loved about chem was when we got to create crystals out of some chemical reaction....I wish I could remember (forgetfull much? :p) but it was so neat...:)

hey .. I am a 17 year old female who was able to get into a 21 minimum age drinking bar with out getting carded but my 23 and 25 year old friends who took me did get carded. I was offered several drinks on the house and from other men at the ba. I thought it was fun but my 23 year old friend did not find it very funny and he got into a fight and then we got kicked out but i was tol that i could stay if i want to. I stil think it is very funny and he still wont take me back at all!!!! no fair at all i wanna go back....

To get back to topic. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the longer I'm here, the younger the fans on this site get. When the film was just in premiere, there were lots of 18-24 year olds, now the 13-17's took over the site.

Here, in the USA, I can give a bum some money to buy whatever I want (along with something he wants), and drink it in secrecy, as long as cops aren't patrolling the streets....and if I'm lucky, my mom will just buy it for me....as for movies, I'm old enough to watch whatever I want....but I never see NC-17 movies anywhere where I live...I'm 20, so I won't have to do any of this soon enough....
