l.p.m

how does it say at the beggining that u can break out of the matrix. the guy who is running 4 the world record breaks out of the matrix on his own. i just cant seem to figure it out.
redpill1290

wered u download world record?
l.p.m

my friend got all of them. i dontr no how but he lent them to me
redpill1290

can u ask him how?
Stans_50

its simple
During the run, he was about to break out of the matrix, reach the limits of his physical ability. So he began seeing the world as a matrix or a set of running numbers just like in a program.

But he fell short of it. Machines put im back into the matrix, and plus he tore some muscle tissue, so he wasnt able to walk ever again. But the guy still remembered the feeling of breaking loose. Thats what he felt, in the end of an episode.
Niva

And how he was able to brake out of the Matrix again.......

I saw all 9 n loved them all:)

in the beginning they say only the truely gifted can realized that they are in the matrix. The runner has already a sense of the matrix already but can't explain it. That's why the agents were there. when you get close to figuring out you're in the matrix, here they come. Just like Neo. Just like Michael Popper in "A kid''s story".

The only difference is the runner freed his mind by doing what is impossible in the matrix, to create a self glitch. Programs are created with boundaries, somehow he found a way to his subconscious through physical and mental exertion.

It's sort of like waking up from a dream. You can mentally wake yourself up from a dream and not know that you woke yourself up. some people have dreams falling or being pushed and they are awakened falling off the bed or sitting up.

Matrix makes virtually everything real. . .when you die in the matrix you die in real life. Vice-versa.
Rama

That is definitely one of my favourite episodes and here is my take on it.

This guy was an elite in running the 100m, he trained and trained and trained and at one point or another in his mental exertion to become stronger and faster (this is a proven way in excelling in sport, there is only so much you can do physically and then you have to use your mental energy to go to the next level, Arnold Shwarzenegger once said it about building his muscles he said he not only trained with his body but he pictured in his mind how his muscles were getting bigger as a mental exercise)

Anyway sorry for getting off the track, due to this guys INTENSE interaction with his environment, ie the Matrix, through his mental and physical exertion, it came to the point were when he put all his "powers" into action at the competition, he broke through the physical barrier and his mind was working so hard that he woke up from the matrix.

I think the agents knew he was a potential "waker" because of the certain set of special circumstances that were in place with him and they were making sure he if he did wake they would be right there to control his mind again. Which they did, and when he was in the wheel chair he knew it wasn't real that his legs were ok and he stood up, then the agent did something to make him forget or something ( I have to watch it again)

Back to the runner, when he broke through the physical barrier and his muscles snapped as the program based on real life would have predicted because it was physically impossible for him to do run the speed he did based on "real world" physics, his mind knew that there was something that would allow him to keep going, and he ran even faster and won the race and awoke, because he was one of the "gifted" because of his intense interaction with the matrix due to his running.

Exactly-Rama

I'm not crazy about the style of animation, but I love the story.

For some reason computer hackers, athletes, mathematition (sp?) scholars, and people who excel beyond the average human can feel something is different or not right in the matrix. They have a better chance of freeing their mind than anyone else.

It's all about what machines have control over. Remember "the matrix can never tell you who you are-Morpheus" or what your boundaries are in the matrix.

That episode of the Animatrix, I thought was deep..........:o

That One of My Favorite as well, but i did not quite get the ending, I know he remembered something & that caused him to get up out of the wheel chair, He said "Free" a few times....but after he fell to his knees.....the camera zoomed out and the Agent was not there (what was that all about)

I think it is one of those stories such as matriculated or beyond where they just leave you hanging and thinking about it in the end, thats the beauty of these stories.

I agree....but I think it goes for the movies n the Animatrix
sparkling_mud

He remembers but he knows that he reached his limits and couldn't do it so I think he gave up hope in the end. The agent was telling him to sit back down and so in the end I think he gave in

Not just extraordinary humans can wake up from the matrix. If you recall from the beginning of "World Record", The narrator mentions those with a questionary nature can wake up from the matrix. This makes sense. Think about it. If we obey all the laws, listen to all the limitations of our nature and just accept them without even stepping outside of the box and ask WHY, then we obey the laws and rules of which the matrix is programmed with.

We know that when a piece of code ( the runner in this instance) in a computer has some bugs in it, it will not perform what it is supposed to do 100%, it will have glitches. So when the runner goes beyond his physical capabilities, he is like a piece of code with bugs in it. Causing some glitches in the matrix as a result.

Just a though, I might have been to technical on this issue.
Paladin

World Record has a major flaw of logic in it. Didn't all of the other runners in the race get taken over by agents when it became apparent that Dan Davis was going to make a breakthrough about the world as Matrix illusion? How did all of those runners suddenly materialize again after the race was finished? How come nobody in the audience, nobody in the media, and nobody down there on the track even noticed that all of the runners had temporarily been replaced?

The only thing that might excuse this error is a buffer. That is, whenever an agent takes over the avatar of a human being, that human's mind isn't instantly dropped from the Matrix, but instead cached in a holding pattern or file of some sort, pending permanent deletion. When the race ended with no need for the agents to intervene, all of the runners' avatars that the agents had taken over were simply uploaded back into the Matrix from the buffer. Memories and media recordings of the event were then edited so that no one noticed anything.
dandemon

in my opinion you just think too hard.:p
Paladin

No, you just think that I'm thinking. :p
AngelofDarkness

I liked this episode too one of the reasons was cuz of how hard that man had driven himself to win....to go on....it really took my breath away..I really admire him I respect him for that.....

i wouldve liked "a boys story" if i had any idea what i was seeing.
neorepz99

i believe that since he went beyond his limitations he broke free and saw the world without the matrix or any bounderies.

i own the ainmatrix and have all the 9 movies. just watched them and i love them all.
dreamer

world record is very good, but i think that boy's story and the other with the detective who searches for trinity(i can't remember the title)are better.
