your view on spoilers...

what do you think about them?

i personally despise them... i see no point in watching something if you know whats going to happen, it takes away the excitement of the experience...:rolleyes:

AGREED! But note that soon as people see this movie on the night of the 14th, they are going to race back here to talk about it. Everything they have seen, know, and want to talk about are designated spoilers.

That's why I have to see it as early as possible, I will be moving any spoiler threads out of general view and put them into this forum.

I'm hoping to be able to hit the May 9th (this friday)
release date at that Chicago theater.

May 9th, eh? I didn't realize they were pre-releasing so early.

I am in Milwaukee, get me a movie ticket and I will come down and watch it with you. :)

Well, here is the scoop.

I posted this a few days ago, after finding 1 theater
in Chicago that starts to play the movie on the 9th of May.
This is the only theater in the world to play it so early.

Now, I called them right away because it didn't make
any sense. I asked if they really are playing the Matrix
Reloaded on the 9th and they assured me they are. So,
I make the post and call all my friends telling them to
change plans for the 9th.

I was still puzzled as to WHY this theater (which happens
to be in a very bad neighborhood) would play this
movie. Well, a day later my friend shows me a Chicago
newspaper that lists that particular theater as the
first one to show the Matrix Reloaded on the 9th. Reason?
The Wachowski brothers were raised in that area.

Two days ago I called that theater back to see how
the tickets were selling and if we have any chance of
getting in. A different lady picked up and told me they
are not showing the Matrix Reloaded on the 9th, only
on the 15th. She assures me this is the case.

So now I'm a bit confused, I think they might be telling
people this because they're afraid of getting slammed
with more fans than they can handle OR they aren't
playing it anymore. It's strange though, since that site
(moviefone.com) still says they are playing it and the
newspaper does as well.

This is what I meant by "I'm hoping to be able to hit the May 9th"
since I don't know for sure if they really are showing it early.

I'm a bit worried about going there (even though it's going
to be a few of us) mainly because the theater is on the
south side of Chicago, and that's as bad as it gets.

I will give them a call again today and ask. I'd be happy
to have you with us Eric but there is no way to order tickets
in advance.

I will check things out again and post here tonight.

What a weird situation! And for some reason I never saw that thread of yours when you originally posted.

I can wait to the 14th. :) I am worried about seeing spoiler posts before then though.

Does the movie open the 14th for most cities? It openes the 15th here in Denver. Wonder why?

All the tickets are sold out for the 15th at most theaters here, luckly I bought 4 tickets 1 week ago.

hmmm... i never thought of people saying what they thought on here before i saw the movie... maybe i might avoid coming here for the few days in which i don't see it... but that's harsh because i'm a forum junkie!

its official release date in Australia is 15th of May, i'm rather amazed that it is around the same time as in the USA... usually we see things way behind you guys... meh, i'm not complaining :D

I live in the UK too, it's not far! ow and 4 the other kid how lives in the UK go into the ODEN cinamar and the pre-veiws come on the 21st of this month! just thought you might want to know! he he. have fun going that bit earlyer. By the way I'm 1 of those kid that pops up only now and again so see you some time. ow and you guys are realy great fans its hard to find people to talk to about the matrix 'cos some people havent even heard of the film! see you around maybey.
