Let's create a list of all of the hidden messages in the films.
Some I noticed in Reloaded:
During the first fight scene between Smith and Neo there is graffitti behind them. One wall has the word MOB written on it, and the wall where Neo gets thrown into and makes the hole, as he gets up, behind him it says, THEONE THEONE, written in a cursive font...
pretty cool. What others has anyone seen? i saw da ones in the park when he wuz talking to the oricle i thought i saw sumthing on a bilboard while neo wuz flying to save Trinity but i couldnt read it. did u see it? The numbers:
101 (Neo's room, i've heard it appearing in other places?)
201 (Detective Story, a few times)
303 (room door Neo goes through before he dies + other instances i can remeber...)
314 (The number of seconds he has to enter the Source)
Room numbers, times, etc...
All this stuff can be found on another string in this forum..... that's why im unspecific. I remember seeing the 303, right after neo, morp, and trin get off the elevator
when they go and meet the merovingian.
Also when Morph, is giving his speech while sitting on the red couch: "this is a war and we are..." he says:
"... and when I see THREE ships, THREE comanders, I don't see coincidence, I see providence"...
amongst many other references to the number three. And indeed Trinity is a tiune of beings in Christianity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. There is certainly an amazingly complex mis-en-scene in these films. Apparently on the highway chase scene there is a billboard or something with a cheat for the game on it? I already have the cheats, bu I'd still like to see it :p The number of the floor when Trinity, Morpheus and Neo get out of the elevator at Merovingian's building is 101, not 303.
Also, every sign on the freeway chase is a code for the game. I never noticed messages int the park. this is in the beginning after he fights the agents then he goes flying in the sky then lands on a building. then the next shot is where you see a door. the walls are all have drawings and lines and such. well, to the right side of the door on the wall it two things that look like towers then there is a circle around it, then there is a straight line that goes towards it. when i saw that in the movies that instantly reminded me of the twin towers getting hit by an airplane. the towers look like this

hopefully someone can find a picture of that scene. i definately think it resembles the towers and the attack.
after that shot, he goes inside and says "where are you". Also, 101 was the highway they were on during the chase scene in the movie. Remember when Link said to "take highway 101." ?
(I know those were not his exact words, but he DID tell them to take the 101 highway, I just can't recall his exact wording.) Neo v6.0 very nice avatar man it took me awhile to find out wut it said. "Neo, IT ENDS TONIGHT" very nice after seeing the matrix several times, i saw on the computer screen that trinity is typing on a password or filename called:
Z10N010 or Z10N101
zion 1... interesting. if u didn't catch it, keep an eye out, it's only on screen for about a second during smith fight, when neo gets thrown to wall and gets up, it doesn't say, the one the one in cursive, it says DMAN, or in other words da man!
I have movie at home on my comp. so i froze it to see!! in M1, when neo and morpheus are riding in elevator to see oracle, on the wall behind neo it has K, Y, and M, in a vertical line. I thought it was weird and tried to piece it together, but didnt gather anything. no, in the first matrix neo's apartment number is 1984. in reference to the movie and the book 1984 by George Orwell. neo's character is somewhat similar to the character in 1984 from what i've heard. i just rented the movie tonight. i'm going to see it, let you know what it's like. In Reloaded when Neo is loaded into the matrix to see thye oracle and it shows the Asian market. there is a camera shot of a table with objects. Pic of jesus, golf balls, buddah..

And in M1 Trinity tells Neo that EMP's disable any electical system in the blast radius, so does that mean it disables their on-board computers? If yes, how do they get back to Zion. If no, why not?
In M2 why would Agent Smith want Neo's 'Purpose'?

(MV)UT I just finished watching M1 and this time I made sure to pay particular attention to the background.
What I've noticed:
1. Right before Trinity comes up to Neo for the first time in the club, there is a TV in the background. That TV has the matrix code trickling down as if it was one of the monitors on the ship.
2. Every EXIT sign (the one by the elevator in Neo's office, the one behind the security check in the building that Trinity and Neo shoot up) is green, not red like most EXIT signs.
3. This goes along with everything about the numbers 303 and 101 and whatnot. The plate for the Nebuchednezzar (sp?) says "Mark III" and "No. 11." Also they're at subway stop no. 3 when Smith and Neo fight in the subway.
4. There's a TV in the construct when Morpheus is telling Neo that the Matrix is a dreamworld and he shows Neo the "dessert of the real." That brand name on the TV says "Trinity" and then a word that I can't quite make out (perhaps Trinity Vision?).
5. After Neo and Trinity take care of the guards at the security check, they go on an elevator. Trinity presses the elevator button, and when she does so you see that the elevator panel reads "Do not use lift if there is a fire." And as we all know, they then set off a bomb in the building that sends a burst of fire going through the elevator.
6. When Neo jumps up out of the way of the subway train while fighting Smith, you can see a wall of graffiti and in one little corner of the wall is the Hewlett Packard logo. The train then passes by, crushing Smith. hp? was that a sponsor of one of the movies? i cant remember. Here are two: 1. NEO and ONE can both spell the same word.
2. When Neo/One falls to sleep next to his computer in the first movie. I believe it was either Trinity or Morpheus who says wake up Neo/One, if you think about this one, Neo/One is still sleeping even though he thinks he is awake, until of course Morpheus shows him how far down the rabbit hole the Matirx goes. And "Wake up Neo/One" means that Neo/One will wake up and fullfill his destiny. I don't think there's really any symbolism in the 'Do not use lift if there is a fire' sign. I think it's just a little joke for the more attentive fans.
As for the names, I think there is some serious symbolism involved in those. I don't think anyone has mentioned 'Metacortex' yet, the name on the side of the building where Neo worked in the Matrix. If I'm not mistaken that means 'machine center' or central, in either Greek or Latin. Or something similar, at any rate. Nice observation ClumsySpice. I can't believe I didn't see that name on the building. Actually.....
On the Nebuchadnezzer name plate, it actually says Mark 3 no 11, and in an interview the Wachowski brothers said this was a direct Biblical ref: Mark 3:11 "and unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God", also, Nebuchadnezzar is a Character in the book of Daniel, he is a man whose dreams prophesise the future. Wow, I never payed much attention to the name plate on the Neb. The Mark 3:11 thing totally makes sense though, what with the whole idea of Neo as a messiah-type figure.
Also, does anyone know if it shows what level Neo and Trinity get off at on the elevator in Zion? Might be another 101/303 connection. Originally posted by Truth

It's just common knowledge that you shouldnt use elevators in case of fire.

When Neo is in his boss' office, Neo is distracted by the soap bubbles running down the window, just like the falling code of the Matrix.
In the interrogatin scene, same monitors as Architect, but Agent Smith looks up and to his right... where the camera is because the other two agents are in front and too the left of Smith. Smith is acknowledging the Architect is watching.
Im not done looking yet..so more weirdness may follow.
SoMm This might have been mentioned, because I'm too lazy to go back and read the entire thread, but when Neo first visits the Oracle's apartment, on the TV in the background there are a bunch of white rabbits running around. Look for it behind the girl levitating the blocks, in case you've never noticed. Kind of goes along with the whole Alice in Wonderland theme, 'follow the white rabbit' and such. The book is Simulacra and Simulation, written by Jean Baudrillard. Someone on another thread told me that. How about these guys? i picked these up from watching the movie a billion times. lol. this refering to the choice the Oracle tells him about. (Between his life and Morpheus's)
Another is THAT same scene with the window washer dudes. They act like that one line in the movie "It has been the world pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth".
The window washer people are cleaning the window symbolizing the truth will be revealed about the fascade of the matrix..

Trace program: running highway 101 is a real highway. right by where they filmed it. I know Highway 101 is a real highway in California, but they actually filmed that scene on a set in Australia.
Another thing is the name of the Merovingians restaurant: La Vrai. In french this is The Truth. actually from that conversation it sounded more like "Winslow Overpass"...anybody confirm that? the location of neo when he was plug in the power plant is shows in Apoc's Computer
