Pain In The Matrix

Indigo & Violet

OK.

So you suffer pain and death in the Matrix and you suffer pain
and death in your real body.

I can accept that for sure...
...fry your thoughts in the Matrix and you're brain would be
screwed. Pain is processed in the brain, not in the body so that
makes sense too.

What I can't accept is that if a bullet goes through your leg in the
Matrix you develop a bullet shaped hole in your REAL leg and you
begin to bleed.

Anyone else think this is taking things beyond the rational, or have I missed something?

Hmmm... maybe the brain thinks that the blood vessels have busted and so sends more blood to that area until they really do burst. I don't recall seeing this injury in the movie...

If you get shot in the Matrix, it does not hurt you outside of the Matrix. If you saw Reloaded you see Trinity getting shot whilst escaping a building, outside of the Matrix however, she does not have any wounds at all.

When you die in the Matrix, your brain ceases. You do not gain any additional damage when you leave the Matrix.

If you watched the film, you would see that.

Where did you see that?!? I never saw anyone get wounds on their phyical body from the matrix.

Urm... they do cough out blood somehow...

I never noticed anything like that happening. They explain in the first movie that if something happens in the matrix your mind makes it real. Come to think of it. After neo fell to the ground in M1 when trying to take the jump from one building to the other, he woke up with blood in his mouth. Either he bit his tongue or the mind indeed sends a signal to the bloodvessels to burst open and start bleeding. It didn't seem strange in M1 at the time. But now that I think of it, it doesn't seem quite right.

Heh! My thoughts exactly....
But one thing though... you never get bullet holes. Just blood in the mouth.

ahhh on alright thats the kinda of **** i wuz talkin bout how it affects u in reality thanks for clearing it up.

When Neo gets the sh*t beaten out of him by Smith in M1
he's thrashing around in the chair in real life and blood is
spewing out of his mouth.

Also, when he's just done the training program he clutches his
chest in pain when he comes back to the real world.

For blood to appear, blood vessels must have been damaged
somehow - that's the toughie to explain! Your body can't do
that kind of thing. I can see how your brain patterns could get fried
but not physical harm....

Q: If you get your leg amputated in an opertion in the Matrix,
how does that pan out when you 'unplug'?

:D

Who's to say what the full capabilities of the brain are I think the brian doesnt have limitation like that and theoreticaly can control anything in the body even on a cellular basis. And fatorin into this they are conected to the most intense vr sim ever so real to the brain the people in it can't even tell. Then I think it totally possible that you wouold bleed a little after say falling from a biulding.
