Smith will have neo's strength and speed in M3, and will have the ability to fly. He will not have neo's other qualities, but with smiths other talents.. it will be sure to be the best battle of them all!:o  :o     :o
;)
cmon people, u guys have nothin to say about this? were talkin about good ol' Smittie here! LoL
yes yes :)
Actually judging from the trailer for M3 we see a nr of walls with a big hole in them and then, in the next part, Smith flying through a similar hole. Does he have flying abilities now too? Does he know how to manipulate the matrix in the same way Neo does. I'd like to think of it like that 'manipulate the matrix' rather than 'having powers'.
crahan......thats nice (u know kung-fu know  ) i cant wait to see smittie in action in M3
think about it guys.
why do all those smiths just stand there?
it's because the smith that neo is fighting is the one who is occupying bain's body.
remember how neo couldn't have powers until he 'hacked' the matrix instead of being inside a powerplant?
That means that bain's coma is because he is inside the matrix. Same with neo's coma.
Now that smith was able to hack the matrix, he is able to realize his true potential, but only with one of his personas. It's doubtful that THAT smith can replicate, as he is going to operate like a human now.
I don't like it how he gets some of Neo's powers...
I think it's because of the human in the "real world", who will be plugged back into the Matrix and already knows a load of stuff but has a human brain. He might be the equal to Neo in the Matrix now because of that.
I don't really know; I'm not a Matrix fanatic. :p
i think of it as the main agent smith....well main smith as being the one that occupied Bane....it makes more sense that way...(ending of m2)
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't think the one Neo fights is the one occupying Bane; if you remember, when Smith first enters Bane, his body becomes "digitized" or whatever and then it enters the phone and then goes through the cords and blahdeeblah ...then he's in Bane.
I really like the train of thought about the coma vs the state the body is in when connected to the matrix through a hardline. We've been seeing this state of the body throughout 2 whole movies lots of times (everytime they all 'jack into' the matrix). I think it might actually be a solid argument.
The idea Neo is doing it without a hardline sounds a bit strange though. Nonetheless, I'm going to do some more thinking about it. Sounds like a worthwhile subject to devote some of my untapped braincycles to :D Then again, I've probably been overusing my brain ever since I've joined this forum.
I'm going to go see the movie again on sunday, I have much to pay attention to.
true...but would that mean that in the matrix Bane would be Bane or an Agent smith ? seeing as it only is your mind that is transferred to and from the real world into the matrix......and he was agent smith when he left the matrix...
You all have excelent points. but who said that the smith that occupies bain is the Real smith. it was anouther smith that copied itself into bain.
We'll never know if Bane gets hooked back into the Matrix what image he will be; Smith isn't going to risk jacking back into the Matrix if he already has a ton of copies of himself there, and can have the power to kill Neo if he's inside Bane in the real world.
Your point is a valid one, but how could smith have neos powers?
I wouldn't say the have *the same* powers. More like they have each made a transition to a point where they are becoming equal to eachother. Of course you could say that Neo going in Smith at the end of M1 and Smith trying to do his 'copy' thingy in M2 might be a reason why they are getting the same powers, but I would doubt it.
About Bane vs. Smith: I think that Smlth is one consciousness for all the copies. One of the things noted in the book 'out of control' is that an organism which is made up from smaller parts has something that transcends the single organism. Like a flock of birds have certain extra characteristics when compared to a single bird. They call it a hive mind. I think these smiths are somehow the same. Now that smith can copy himself, he transcends the capabilities of a single smith. Somehow I think he's still only *one* Smith though.
If you follow that thought, Smith is connected to both the Real World and the matrix at all times. If that means that destroying the Matrix would mean Smith would die, I can't say.

i think u have the best explaination for this thread terikan. It might be the best theory for smith being neo's equal.
But think of it people, what would make m3 extra exiting? Someone that could equal neo physically! That would be neo's ultimate challenge! Cause if no one would ever equal him in these movies at somepoint... the fight scenes will be to predictable. Plus the wachowski brothers said they made something new and extra exiting in each new movie...
